I'm able to track exactly what I'm doing down to the minute and - my favorite part - export them out to a beautiful report with graphs, details, and billable hours. It has made doing freelance work SO much easier and I can actually prove what I'm doing during the day. The time tracker is so easy to use after you take the time to set it up, and the functionality of Clockify is very innovative and amazing. **What do you dislike about Clockify?** Sometimes when you export the monthly or weekly report, the pie charts can get a little weird depending on what descriptions you put in for your tasks. For example, if you write "Emails" and "Emailing" in two separate time slots, it'll show up as 2 separate tasks in the pie chart, even though it's the same thing. So you really have to be careful about what you write in your descriptions and make sure they are all as consistent as possible. **What problems is Clockify solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before I used Clockify, my boss would ask me what I did during the day or how many hours it took me to complete a project. It was hard to explain and I started keeping track on an Excel spreadsheet. Then I found Clockify! I love that my boss is able to log in and see what I'm working on up to the minute. We are able to keep track of the monthly freelance budget better and I love being able to send them beautiful invoices (aka: reports) each month with the breakdowns of my task and billable hours. ### 2. Every team member has an account and the accounting/payroll department is able to view all timesheets. I would also like it if, depending on the employees task, can change their per hour rate. I use it for personal tracking but may switch to a paid tier to manage timesheets for employees. It offers great ease of use and just enough customization and features to track the categories I care about and see employees time allocation all in one place. **What do you dislike about Clockify?** Keyboard entry and shortcuts not intuitive. Sometimes I'm entering a time manually and it defaults to am instead of pm. On the mobile app, entering a manual time involves touching and scrolling too many times for my liking. **Recommendations to others considering Clockify:** Consider what you need to integrate with (browser or other stuff) and how you will be entering time or starting/stopping the timer: mobile, browser, etc. Workflow is everything with this stuff. But the app doesn't seem as good as the website. Mobile is horrible. Cant select a project before you start the timer. UI is very slow. Each time you switch to a different application it has to "refresh". Dark interface is also blue not black or a dark tone of grey. You can also easily organize your clients and projects attached to each client. For a single person tracking their own time, I think the free price point is great too. If you're working with other people or with a bigger team, they do have options to upgrade but I haven't had any experience using the upgraded software. **What do you dislike about Clockify?** There also wasn't much of a tutorial when I started using it, but everything is pretty straight forward for just the time tracking options. One thing that I can't speak for is using Clockify on a larger scale at a bigger company. By myself, it's a great reference tool especially at the free tier. However, it can get pricey (up to $450 a month) when you upgrade. For me, the free tier is perfect. A company with several employees may want to compare Clockify with other similar software. **Recommendations to others considering Clockify:** Utilize the tagging system as well as projects, clients, etc. You can really break down types of tasks you're tracking etc in the Workspaces tab! **What problems is Clockify solving and how is that benefiting you?** Mainly time management and time tracking. I'm a very visual personal, so the reports that they provide are particularly helpful to me. Secondly, I love how this truly is "background" software. It's tucked away on your screen and allows you to continue working on your project. **What do you dislike about Clockify?** It took me awhile to understand how the "Tags" system worked. At first, it seemed a bit complicated and difficult to manage. However, their online help was very useful and I am now using the Tags system with ease. **Recommendations to others considering Clockify:** If you're looking for a project management tool to track your team's time, this is a beautiful (and FREE) product. If you're on your own and billing clients on an hourly basis, it can serve as a useful billing tool. Not only is Clockify effective in the way that it functions, it's visually appealing and doesn't force a constant eyesore on the top of your screen. Having used multiple other time-tracking softwares, I don't think I would ever go back to any others. Finally, their online support is extremely helpful. I had some trouble with some of the finer functions of the product, but I soon realized they have an abundance of clear, helpful tips on how to use everything. **What problems is Clockify solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have the capability to bill my legal clients in a consistent and reliable manner. Set up a task either personal or for the team and being able to break it apart into pieces that can be shared amongst the team or checked off as they are completed by the assigned individuals. The ability to see where time is spent and how it is spent is a great way to be able to quantify progress. I like how you can prioritize projects and see exactly how much time is being spent each day on each project per person. You can switch in and out super easy and does not slow down other functionality. This application enables me to manage my time and to invoice accordingly. We did not use this software very long, but for the time we did it helped out a lot! For most of the projects we would complete for customers, it would take awhile to get the total times for each project and in the end we would usually undercharge the customer (which hurt us in the end).
