## About CloakBrowser
CloakBrowser is a custom Chromium browser for developers and teams running browser automation with Playwright, Puppeteer, Selenium, or the Chrome DevTools Protocol. It is a code-first browser runtime rather than a multi-account profile dashboard or a managed scraping API. Teams control it through familiar automation libraries and run it locally, in Docker, on servers, or in other customer-managed infrastructure. It is designed for authorized workflows such as QA automation, website monitoring, public web data collection, browser-based operations, and AI-agent tasks where standard automated Chromium environments can produce inconsistent browser signals. Its browser-level changes are compiled into Chromium rather than added as a JavaScript stealth layer. Teams can keep familiar Playwright and Puppeteer patterns with small migration changes. CloakBrowser supports headed and headless operation, persistent browser profiles, reproducible browser identities, Chrome extensions, proxy-aware timezone and locale configuration, humanized interaction timing, Docker workflows, and CDP server mode. It runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, including infrastructure controlled by the customer. The Python and JavaScript wrappers are MIT-licensed, and a .NET client is also available. The custom Chromium binary is distributed separately under its own license. CloakBrowser does not include a proxy network or CAPTCHA-solving service. CloakBrowser is intended for legitimate automation involving systems, accounts, data, and public resources that the user is authorized to access. It is not intended for credential abuse or unauthorized access to restricted systems.
