I used Cleverly to keep LinkedIn outreach running alongside my day-to-day sales work. It helped maintain a steady flow of messages going out without needing to manage everything manually. After a bit, I started seeing replies come in and a few conversations that were actually relevant to the kind of accounts I focus on, which made it useful.

It’s not fully automated. You still need to jump in and handle replies, especially once conversations get more specific. It also took a little bit of tweaking early on to get the messaging closer to how I usually communicate.

We used Cleverly to help keep our LinkedIn outreach running more consistently. Before that, it was something we didn’t always have time to stay on top of. Having it running in the background made it easier to keep conversations going without needing to manage everything ourselves. We did start seeing some replies and a few relevant conversations, which was a positive.

It’s not completely hands-off. You still need to check messages and respond when people reply, which can take a bit of time. It also took a little adjustment early on to get the messaging where we wanted it.

I am frustrated with Cleverly because they promised to generate leads but failed to deliver any results. By the second month, it was evident that they lacked the capability to achieve the promised outcomes, yet they continued without delivering, which wasted my time. The reasonable thing to do is by the second month, when they clearly had no idea how to bring results, just to stop and not run around like a chicken with its head while wasting my time.. This experience was a complete failure,

We've used Cleverly for 3 years and it's been a game changer. we get 50 to 80 consistently, who are our ICP. It's enabled us to scale  once we hired another AE.

Our project manager, Daniel,  has been great at revising our messaging until it was landing well. He's always quick to respond and genuinely concerned with our success.

It took me a bit to know how to respond to the incoming responses. However, after voicing this concern with Daniel he gave me pointers and it quickly became easy to run.

Make sure to communicate well with your Cleverly project manager, as they are the experts at the messaging and what works best for your industry.

We needed a consistent way to get qualified leads that was far less expense than PPC ads.

The reps were quick and responsive, the dashboard is easy to use although there were a lot of bugs that don't allow it to function or link things properly.

**What do you dislike about Cleverly?**

I think the company's practices are a bit shady with how they bill. They clearly don't want to bill for a qualified lead or interested lead. The rep also informed us that even though a lead was not interested, the fact that they were part of their resources meant we were billed for it. I've spent over $10k 2 months and have to have it bring a single lead. I'm disappointed in the outcome, the lack of transparency, and the shady practices to bill things

There are better email automation platforms out there at a fraction of the cost. I'd avoid paying this company bloated fees for disappointing results.

At first I thought Cleverly was amazing, the service, the speed, the organization. I loved the dashboard as well and I had high hopes for outbound automation. But this took a turn very quickly when they started to bill for unqualified and clearly non-positive reply leads.

I like that they offer a good price, but the claim is not fair.

**What do you dislike about Cleverly?**

I dislike that Cleverly overpromised and underdelivered, selling you a service positioned as a semi-automated lead generation solution with expert support, but in reality, leaving you to manage most tasks yourself. I am frustrated by the misleading sales tactics, where expectations of qualified leads and proactive assistance were not met. The platform’s technical failures, especially the broken AI misclassifying leads, wasted both your time and money. I dislike the poor quality of leads, many of which were irrelevant, automated replies, or outright rejections falsely labeled as positive.

Their lack of proactive communication and minimal, unhelpful support left me feeling ignored, especially when legitimate concerns were met with excuses or upsell attempts instead of real solutions. I also dislike how they shifted responsibility back onto you after promising a guided, reviewed process. The constant need to chase them for basic deliverables like CRM setup or campaign reviews added to your frustration. Finally, I strongly dislike their refusal to take accountability, their resistance to offering a fair refund despite clear service failures, and the repeated attempts to continue billing I even after cancellation requests—raising concerns about their business practices.

Instead of spending time manually finding prospects, crafting emails, and managing campaigns, their service promises to handle the technical setup, including domain warming and inbox management, to ensure high deliverability. They position their AI as a tool to filter responses so that you only receive qualified, positive leads, saving you from sorting through irrelevant replies. Additionally, they present themselves as providing expert support, optimized email copy, and campaign guidance to improve outreach performance. The overall benefit they offer is a consistent flow of sales opportunities with minimal effort on your side, allowing you to focus purely on closing deals rather than managing outbound lead generation.

The number of Connections they can create automatically.

I worked with 3 or 4 people at Cleverly and spent $1,500 over 3 months without a single lead. I was asked 3 questions on how to target my connections and despite my telling their rep to stay away from certain businesses they still sent it to them anyway. I do web design and they sent connection requests to other web design companies. Also, I see many other automated lead generators like Octopus that is way more targeted and costs less than $30/month. I'm going to try them next.

They created MANY connections but unfortunately they were not very targeted.

Their platform promises an all-in-one solution for LinkedIn outreach, and the Platinum package seems to offer a broad range of features, including multiple campaigns, follow-up messaging, and a dedicated account manager. The potential is there, but so far, we haven’t seen these benefits realized due to the execution problems we’ve encountered.

The biggest issue is their lack of security, which has been a serious concern. Requesting and storing login credentials in open text is unacceptable, and this has compromised our trust in their system. In addition, the slow rollout of promised features and immediate technical problems—like altered contact lists and incorrect messaging—have caused significant disruption to our outreach efforts. The lack of transparency and deflection from their support team has only made matters worse.

If you’re considering Cleverly, I would strongly recommend clarifying the timeline for when certain features become available and ensuring they have proper security measures in place to protect your credentials. What I like best about Cleverly is its ability to deliver targeted leads with minimal effort on our part. As a small firm, we appreciate the efficiency it provides in managing outreach campaigns. For smaller firms or startups with tight budgets, Cleverly’s pricing can be a concern. However that can be objected with a powerful lead gen strategy and Account Managers like Alexa and Cheif of Staff Noemi on your side - this wont be an issue because they have been EXTREMELY thorough with our campaign. We've had Cleverly for two years and only ran one campaign that yeilded us over 3000 connections. That pricing we felt was too high in the begininng faded away quickly because of the return we got.

Making it accessible via mobile would be awesome for lazy people like me

They are honest, super friendly, and professional; they don't overpromise, and they deliver.

I sometimes feel limited by the volume on LinkedIn,  but they make a point of doing it right and long term versus burning through cash and violating LinkedIn rules...  so I  trust that's the answer.

Get on a call with them and try them at least for one month -  their pricing is very good,  and it's a service you really need to experience to get how valuable it is.

Cleverly helps to generate  quality leads using LinkedIn. When they heard I was having difficulties hiring they offered  their LinkedIn recruiting service,  which got me amazing candidates (I even hired one person that same month)... By the way "they heard" about my hiring issue because they take the time to talk to us wholistically about our business, not just "a campaign".

The service is great and brings in hot leads, but sometimes we want to learn about the cold/warm leads that go dead, and there isn't much transparency there.

Sales must be mature and you must have a solid sales strategy and ICP pipeline. Their services only work if you do.

I was not tapping into LinkedIn for lead generation prior to using Cleverly. I booked way more qualified meetings every week. The nice thing about it is that the initial messages are automated but you can customize the responses and follow ups to your liking. I frankly didn't realize how much of my customer based lived on LinkedIn. Highly recommend.

The biggest benefit for me is that Cleverly sends automatic follow-up messages once a contact has accepted the connection request and gives me an easy overview when I need to take action. Cleverly has many more interesting features, incorporating AI and insights.

The Sales Navigator filters are not always 100% accurate, so sometimes I get connections that are not really relevant for me.

Cleverly helps automate my LinkedIn outreach, saving me a lot of time. I got some good meetings and currently qualifying an opportunity. I expect more opportunities to come from this.
My account manager, Ahmed El Ashi, has been very helpful to set the right filters in LinkedIn Sales Navigator to target the relevant target personas. We continue to optimize the filter settings and try new campaigns.

I have lots of great ideas but no bandwith and access to the type of talent needed to help me accomplish my goals on LinkedIn. Clevelry is a service tech that does exactly that. Response time has been great. Our account manager really takes the time to build out lists for our potential buyeres as well.

I believe their campaigns/messaging could be improved. Make sure to take the time to understand your clients business.

For the price? I'd recommend trying them out for a few months.

We have continued to figure out the best way to bring in new leads and have noticed that linkedin is a great place to connect and find a need. Cleverly has helped us streamline this approach and builds out contacts that they reach out to on autopilot for us.
