As an EDI/Integrations Dev at a larger 3PL, it’s important that we have the flexibility and capability to integrate with any platform our clients may bring forward. While the CLEO environment doesn’t necessarily hold your hand the way some other platforms do, its lower-level approach to development provides a lot of flexibility in how we build our solutions. I have full confidence that I could integrate CLEO with whatever a client presents, whether that’s a custom API or a spreadsheet from Quickbooks. The web UI/Cockpit is very intuitive, and it makes it easy to manage connections and review our data. Data transformation and connection communicated clearly, which saves time troubleshooting. Our CLEO environment includes a multithreaded task manager which allows us to allocate server resources for maximum efficiency. This use of concurrent processing has really helped the performance of our large volume integrations. We starting using CLEO via their Professional Services team, which greatly helped the onboarding process. Over time we got qualified in the Development tools and moved to a self service solution, which saved us money and allowed us to be more reactive. **What do you dislike about Cleo Integration Cloud?** CIC does not hold your hand like some other cloud based solutions may. Its important to have a holistic understanding of the integrations structure before you start building, because CIC lacks a guided workflow for you to follow. **What problems is Cleo Integration Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** The wide variety of connection solutions CLEO is capable of has been a massive benefit to our company. For years, we used Cleo Lexicom, which was an in-house product that we had to host locally on our own servers to provide the functionality that we needed. But now, using Cleo Integration Cloud and a very lightweight agent on-site, we are able to push the burden of hosting and managing the application back to the cloud. The fact that Cleo Integration Cloud is cloud-based allows me to free up my time that would otherwise be required to manage the locally installed application, keeping it backed up, updated, patched, etcetera. I found the initial setup to be quite easy, and the agent that we had to install locally was very quick and easy through a provided PowerShell script. **What do you dislike about Cleo Integration Cloud?** There's only one enhancement that I wish Cleo Integration Cloud had, which is the ability to set a window of time where my systems would be unavailable. The integrated monitoring system on Cleo Integration Cloud checks when my system is unavailable and reports it as an outage, sending lots of emails to notify me of a problem. But it's actually scheduled downtime for my system, so my preference would be to tell Cleo Integration Cloud not to consider my systems being down during this timeframe as an error, but to ignore those time frames instead. **What problems is Cleo Integration Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** Cleo Integration Cloud provides the necessary interface for our in-house systems to communicate with trading partners using the AS2 protocol. Once past the learning curve, our team was able to become self-sufficient without needing managed services. One of my favorite functions is the ability to generate and send out a new connection certificate, and have the CIC auto-magically update the certificate once the trade partner installs and uses it. That cuts down on a lot of the coordination required for the effort. I also do like the ease of seeing the documents before and after transformation with minimum extra effort. **What do you dislike about Cleo Integration Cloud?** Sometimes the support isn't as reachable as I feel it should be. I don't often need to make high priority tickets for production down issues, but there can be a lack of communication back to me after I've made a ticket. Also per the support site documentation, there's a phone number to call to escalate the ticket, but no one has ever picked up in the few times that I've had calls. This leaves me with uncertainty on if a ticket has been assigned or worked on. **What problems is Cleo Integration Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** One issue that Cleo has solved for us is a nuance of one of our connections that several customers utilize. Through the one connection, we transact with several distributors sending different length PO numbers.
