Absolutely horrible tool **Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2023 **What do you like best about ClearStar?** I do not like anything about ClearStar. We were using ESR, which was fine, but it was acquired by ClearStar and ever since the cutover to the new platform it has been the worst user experience I've ever had with any tool in almost 20 years of working in HR. **What do you dislike about ClearStar?** Everything - the UI is confusing and needs to be rethought; the system requires that everyone enter in an SSN even if it is a check for an international employee; we just found out after 4 months of using this tool that employees can decline to use an electronic signature which prevents the check from proceeding until we send them a release; the reports are difficult to read; it's not clear what requested information is missing so that we can help move the process forward. **What problems is ClearStar solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is supposed to run background checks but we have more background checks outstanding than completed because the system is so hard to use and there are things like sending a consent for a live signature about which we were never informed.
