## ClassDojo Reviews
  ### 1. It's a nice communication tool, but...

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mason O. | Education Professional, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I like that Class Dojo is set up to be a communication tool between parents for both text communication and behavior communications. It's also good that it's accessible via an app or the web.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I dislike that communications do not always come through in real-time. Sometimes I've received communications that were time sensitive too late and had parents upset I did not respond. Also, as a behavior recorder, I feel you are stuck either making broad categories and having to explain every interaction or make each interaction so specific that it takes forever to find it.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Class Dojo has made my parents feel that they can communicate with me more often, which had improved relationships. It's also been a decent source of data for discussing social strengths and weaknesses of students by pinpointing where they seem to have the most problems/sucess.

  ### 2. Platform easy to implement!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jasmin K. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I do that to help students with social skills do courage, kindness, empathy and not just positive and negative behavior tracking. In classrooms, message families and post-student work, I appreciate that you can share examples about what you do with your individual portfolio. I love the simplicity with which parents can keep up and recall school activities. Invitations, questions and photographs are useful for students.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I have no problem with the application but I'd like the software to provide additional features, such as teaching games, puzzles or challenges that kids can use and relax from depending on how it's not just activities, but how they're fun too and not so boring to them. The attitudes are rather disgraceful. I think connecting with parents is crucial, but understanding and sharing what happens in the classroom.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

I encourage teachers and students at all levels to use this forum. Modern and user friendly.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have many benefits. The students want their ClassDojo points and it makes a lot improved because they want to get their ClassDojo points from me really hard every day. Wherever my classes are, let's have my management system for my school. Walking, lunch, leisure. I will also use ClassDojo. I like that when used in education , students know the grade structure. This really makes a difference.

  ### 3. The wonderful ways to use ClassDojo

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Breann S. | Elementary School Teacher, Education Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

ClassDojo has been an essential part of my classroom management and way to communicate with parents. I am able to keep in touch with my parents on a daily and sometimes hourly bases on behavior, classroom procedures, what we are working on and even classroom lesson feedback. My parents get notified of behavior points and even get informed when there are areas of concern that the student needs to work on for behavior. I have enjoyed how ClassDojo allows me to keep my students points and encouragements on the board all day. So I can use my smartboard in the classroom to add points, watch short videos and do a quick brain break or even use my cell phone to give out some positive points and even get a motivational short movie going on. I am able to launch messages to the board for my students to read. For example, on days I am out I can send a message to the smartboard using ClassDojo to inform my class of the expectations for the day and to remind them that I will be checking in. This platform allows more than just behavior management and parent communication. I have been able to use this as a means for distance learning. Since the parents at our school are use to working with this app we have been able to keep up with communication, videos and even pictures on the chat feed. I know many of the teachers I work with were so pleased to be able to keep up with ClassDojo even not being in the classroom or seeing them at school. One of the features that we use often on my fourth grade team is the group collaboration. There are multiple ways to place students in groups and allow a quick group formation. The group maker and the think pair share feature is fantastic in helping managing students and get students to work cooperatively. The tools in ClassDojo help to run a smooth, transitional classroom. The noise meter, random student selector and timer are just some of the amazing tools in this app and system.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I haven't run into an issue of dislike with the program. The ability to upload pictures and files has really allowed access and communication to be shared between students, parents and teachers. There is always the consideration of student and family privacy. Some students are not motivated by a point system and turn to anger and frustration when they see others that are receiving points and they aren't. Since all students are displayed it would be helpful to have points hidden so that there isn't a negative feeling towards others or causes a separation in students who are on task and not. It would be helpful to have a set goals feature. This would help the students who don't earn points often, but see a goal they are trying to attain and receive high fives for that.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

I highly recommend using ClassDojo. Its a fantastic platform for beginning teachers and even veteran teachers. It is a simple, user friendly and easy means to communicate with parents, teachers and students. It can be shared across grade levels and even co teaching. If you are looking for the one best application to use in the classroom to help keep communication between staff and parents and students easy and readily accessible I would recommend this. If you are looking to help your classroom run more smoothly, not waste time between lessons and transitions, this hands down is the best. The features within ClassDojo are transforming classrooms and the interaction between teachers, students and parents. You can easily improve your classroom with the group features, student selector, timer and noise meter. This has been a fantastic tool for me to use in my classroom.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ClassDojos has helped me in the classroom with selecting groups and calling on students. Many times we go to the hands that are always raised, well with the random student selector you dont have to wait on hands to be raised. By connecting to the computer or smartboard you and the class can see how the students are randomly selected to complete a task or question. This keeps students on their toes! No falling asleep or disconnecting from learning cause you dont know when you will be called on to answer a question. Another fantastic problem solved with ClassDojo is the noise meter. While students are working in class, or small groups or even with the teacher the noise meter is a great accountability tool for the students to pay attention to and check their voice levels.

  ### 4. Class Dojo is easy to use, and is very motivating for students. I tie it into Classroom Economy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Becky W. | Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I like how it keeps a record of feedback for students. This comes in handy when we are analyzing data to look at class trends along with student trends. For example, I can see that during a specific time frame, a certain student is consistently struggling with staying on task (i.e. after lunch)> Because this is happening consistently, I can look into why. I noticed that he is wound up after recess, so I know that I need to do a calming down activity to get him ready to learn. I also noticed that my whole class needed a wake up activity between reading and writing. I also like how you can easily share information with parents. When I first started using it, I had a student who was particularly struggling with behavior. I was able to share a daily communication with his mom about his behavior, both positive behaviors and the negative behaviors. This made it easy for me to communicate daily about his needs so that she could reinforce behaviors at home, and we could pinpoint his biggest areas of struggle.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

There are some times I do not have tech with me (although I do like the app) and it is difficult for us to use with Guest Teachers. They do not have access to technology, so they cannot give them points, so it will not be immediate. I also wish we had some different options for characters that would were a little bit more appealing to older kids (they do love the characters, but would like something a bit more mature looking.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

If you want an easy to use app to monitor behaviors, Class Dojo is great. I would recommend using the app on your phone as well (you can monitor hallway behavior). The kids really respond to the sounds. I would also use it as a reward system. For me, I like to use it in addition to our Classroom Economy (i.e. each point at the end of the week will translate into a $25 Bonus for them to add to their bank accounts). This is a great tool to keep track of all fo the bonuses. There are definitely other features of Class Dojo that I have not used yet. I love the stop watch/timer feature, and there is also a feature that allows you to randomly group or pair students as well. They are continuously improving the components of the app with additional features. I would strongly recommend it.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It really helps keep track of feedback. It makes it easy to track behaviors so that we can be preventive in our management, track patterns, and handle trends. The kids have great buy in, and I can use it in addition to our Classroom Economy. I give them "bonuses" depending on the number of points they earn.

  ### 5. Awesome tool!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniella H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

The classroom management feature and communication features for parents and teachers. The students respond better to hearing the teacher give + or - for their behavior. Also the teacher can assign the reason for the updates to the students' behavior. The app is very user friendly and easy to add parents. I'm a parent and a teacher and I'm able to toggle between both accounts with ease.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I used it for high school based on a suggestion but it's too juvenile to use with high school as a form of classroom management. Although I did have a slight increase in classroom participation, the effectiveness of the feature wore off.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Explore the features of the application to see if this would be a good fit for your classes. This may work for one class and not the other, so be prepared to explore as many options as you can

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have another way to communicate with parents immediately should I have a disciplinary issue with students. The immediate feedback sent to parents is very beneficial.

I noticed this application will not work with all classes as it was suggested to me. Hence my reason for saying the application is slightly juvenile to use at the high school level as a CM tool.

  ### 6. Great for Positive Reinforcement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew R. | Special Education Teacher, Education Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

Class Dojo is easy to use and is much more than just individual point tracking. You have the ability to group students and give positive or negative points. This helps reinforce the behavior you want in your classroom. The program offers a super simple user interface. The program makes it easy for teachers, parents, and students to use without confusion.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

There is not much I dislike about this program. I always like to suggest more options for the character selection since some of them can be "elementary". However, they have added custom options that help eliminate this negative. I implemented this program in both high school (grades 9-12) and middle school (grades 6-8), and it was a hit with both groups of students. However, i should note that the middle school students latched on much easier and quicker than the older students. Many of the older students thought it was t0o "elementary" for them.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Class Dojo is extremely easy to use. It is free and a great tool for the classroom. There are a lot of way to implement this program into the classroom. Try it out and see what works best for you and your students. I personally like to group the students and share the screen that way. Many teachers have great success with individual as well.

Class Dojo has a great support page titled "teacher help desk" where you can view the frequently asked questions, and helpful videos to get you started. I recommend looking through the help desk before getting started.

The team at Class Dojo has done an excellent job up building this program and adding features each year. If there is a feature that you need that is missing, use the "submit a request" feature to ask for features that you need. This is a great way to be a part of the process and build the program to your specific needs.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I share my Class Dojo screen with my students so they can view the points and see how each group is doing. It turns classroom management into a competition. My students are literally competing on who can behave the best in my classroom. I personally did not give points to individual students. I grouped my students by the seating chart, and distributed points by groups.

  ### 7. ClassDojo - Middle School Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hannah C. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I love being able to communicate with parents via an "instant message." You do not need to share phone numbers to share messages that send and receive like text messages. When used correctly, students can get excited about creating their own character and are relatively motivated to earn points. When used as a team, ClassDojo is effective at classroom and school management.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

In my opinion, ClassDojo does not work the best in a middle school setting unless it is used across the board and becomes an expectation. If you do not use it consistently and in real time, it can become punitive, random, and not effective. You have to have access to the app pretty frequently so you can address behavior right away; its best not to wait until the behavior has passed.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

This app works well when used by a team or an entire school. This could be a launch pad for positive behavior incentives that could be implemented via grade level or school. I enjoyed this app when I used it frequently but think the impacts could be greater when used as part of a team or large number of people.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parent communication is definitely a plus here - there are no word limits like with Remind. Parents can see behaviors their scholar has exemplified, both positive and negative (if used correctly). Building the bridge between school and home is relatively solved by using this method of frequent and consistent communication.

  ### 8. Class Dojo Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul P. | Associate Professor of English, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

Class Dojo offers ease of communication between teachers and parents. Teachers can easily share assignments, receive and respond to messages from parents and students, and post pictures of classroom activities. I think for parents it is particularly useful as they can receive regular updates of their students progress, including if there are any disciplinary problems that day. When students go on field trips or participate in class-based activities they can receive updates and pictures. Cute icons can be assigned to each student that is unique and fun for the students as well. The instant messaging feature is useful for communication, rather than waiting on emails the teacher and parent can easily communicate with each other. While this is very useful for an elementary or middle school teacher, I don't see it being used beyond that target demographic.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

Class Dojo can sometimes be confusing if a parent has multiple students. It is not an application that would be as useful for higher education. It seems gears to elementary and middle school.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

I think Class Dojo is most useful for those teaching in elementary and secondary education. It seems to be geared towards a younger audience. An elementary or middle school teacher who is communicating regularly with parents could find a great benefit from the ease of communication and parents will appreciate the ability to get a glimpse into the classroom on a regular basis.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Class Dojo makes communication between parents and teachers much easier and faster.

  ### 9. Class Dojo for Classroom Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elisha R. | Teacher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I love that I can give quick, visible feedback to students and families. Students like that they can see (and hear) when they receive a point, and parents love being able to check in on their child's behavior in real time. Being able to set the number of points that each behavior receives in advance allows me to be consistent with my rewards for specific actions. I also like that I can share my class of students with other teachers in the building. This allows other teachers who come into contact with my students, like the PE teacher and art teacher, to use the same management system that I do with my students and allows us to be consistent across the school.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I don't love having to take my phone out to give points, but without an iPad or tablet, that is just a necessity. I also personally do not use the negative points because I prefer to lean toward positive reinforcement. I understand why negative points are an option, but I personally do not use them.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

If you are considering using Class Dojo, definitely familiarize yourself with it before rolling it out to students. Making sure that you have a solid handle on how it works will help you seamlessly integrate Class Dojo into your classroom. I would also recommend thinking about how you will reward students for their behavior. For some students, receiving points is enough. However, I have found that some classes also need tangible rewards, such as a trip to a treasure box, to make Class Dojo effective. I would also recommend that if you are departmentalized or students spend time with multiple teachers to share a Class Dojo rather than each creating your own class. Students' points do not follow them from one class to another, so using the same class is extremely helpful.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me, Class Dojo allows me to have my classroom management system with me no matter where my class goes. Field trip, lunch, recess, specials...I can still use Class Dojo. I like that students are familiar with the system from grade level to grade level if it is used across the school. That really helps with consistency. At my school, we are going to use Class Dojo to implement a House System. Each house will receive points in Class Dojo to compete for the House Cup.

  ### 10. Innovative platform.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica H. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

Adjust feedback and language recording to suit the needs of the classroom. All linked parents' visible communications. Parent experiences with public media can be perceived. History College. Integrated Google Translate translation. I like ClassDojo as a parent communication method for the exchange of text and actions. It is also nice that an application or the web can be accessed.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I would like to get multiple sources of feedback simultaneously. I 'd like to see videos answer end-users' commonly asked questions to let teachers see what students / parents see. I don't like messages in real time that aren't always coming. I got often too late messages and parents were irritated that I didn't react. Also, as a behavior tracker, I think you have to clarify or make any interaction so clear, that it is important to always find it. It's important for you to know the interaction.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

It is easy to use, improves interaction with students and improves communication with parents, simplifies some processes and saves a lot of time. I highly recommend it.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Secure and direct student contact. Provide input on the research presented which is also evident in parent portfolios. Positive reinforcement of distance learning principles and goals. ClassDojo has made students and parents feel more willing, strengthening relationships with me, to connect with me. This was also a valuable source of data to analyze the social strengths and shortcomings of the students by showing where the issues and outcomes seem most to be.

  ### 11. Easy to use platform..!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda H. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I love to provide my students with quick and clear feedback. Students want to see and hear when they have a case, and parents like to have a real-time check on the actions of their children. The number of points that each behavior receives on the front allows me to match my specific rewards for action. I may also share my students class with other building teachers. It's my students best incentive program.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I don't like using my telephone to pick up points, but that's only a requirement without an iPad or laptop. I have nothing wrong with the ClassDojo beyond this. In my college, I love to use this.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

If you intend to use Class Dojo, certainly get acquainted with it before it is published to students. Make sure you understand how it works, you can incorporate ClassDojo seamlessly into your class. I would also advise to think about how you are going to reward students for their actions. For some students, points are necessary. I found, however, that some courses also require tangible rewards for the DojoClass , for example, to go to a treasure box.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've got a lot of advantages. The students want to get their ClassDojo points and it makes a lot better because they want me to work really hard every day to get their ClassDojo points. Let's have my management system for my classroom wherever my class goes. Hiking, lunch, leisure. ClassDojo I can still use. I like that when used throughout the school students know the system of the grade level. This truly contributes to consistency.

  ### 12. Excellent Even For High School Students

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James A. | Business Education Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

There is a lot to like about the class dojo. I have use this in my classroom for around two years now and at first I wasn’t sure that it was going to work out because it seems targeted towards a younger age level, mostly elementary students, but I would be using it with middle school and high school students, mostly upper level high school students. At first I had to do a little bit of thinking to try and determine how I would implement this into my classroom on a daily basis, but once I figured it out it is a piece of software and a platform that I cannot imagine teaching without. I love the fact that I am able to reward students in real time and show up on the screen the progress that they are making.Even high school students seem to really like the sound that the software makes when they were rewarded a point for participating in class. It is also really great for keeping a record in progress of student behavior throughout the day. I like that it also allows you to record negative behaviors so that there is a record for when the student missed behaves in class. Surprisingly, my students also really enjoy customizing their monster character on the platform. Overall it is a fantastic addition to my classroom and I really think that I enjoy it just about as much as the students do.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

The only thing that I would really change is making the platform more excess a bowl to an older audience as well. When I go to add assignments the platform looks a little bit elementary, and it would be nice for it to have a more mature look for high school users.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Give this a try no matter the age range of the students that you are teaching.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to keep track of student behavior by showing exactly when a student is rewarded for good behavior or when a negative behavior was recorded.

  ### 13. LOVED IT!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benitta E. | Teacher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I love the fact that it allows for both students and parents to know where the student stands in regards to points for activities completed. It is another way for teachers to communicate with parents! You are able to record videos, pictures and files for parents and students as well. I have enjoyed the opportunity to add lessons for my students to complete during COVID-19! ClassDojo has been a life saver for my students and I during this time of E-Learning.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I dislike the fact that I can not upload videos. They have to be recorded within the app is which good but uploading my own videos would make it even better.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ClassDojo solves problems of communication, daily updates, and assignment posting. These are great benefits for families and teachers.

  ### 14. User friendly but not comprehensive

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nichole S. | Executive Admin, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I like that it is a one stop shop for all of my children's classes and teachers, and that I can contact my children's teachers quickly about assignments.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I wish that it had more functionality for us to see the class assignments and progress, instead of having to have a different forum to log into to see those.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like that I can contact my children's teachers about assignments and get them to respond faster than sending an email that could get buried before it is answered.

  ### 15. Innovative platform ..!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Donna S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I use this to support students with life skills use bravery, politeness, empathy and so much more than keep track of positive, negative behaviour. I like that you can share pictures of what you do on your individual portfolio in schools, message families and post-student work. I love how easy it is to keep up with parents and recall school events. It is useful to give the students invites, requests and pictures.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

The points of conduct tend to be quite shameful. I think it's important to communicate with parents, yet to remember and share what's happening in the classroom.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

I recommend the use of this platform to teachers and students of any level. it is modern and easy to use.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Comportement. You can get candy or prizes from those tickets. I use tickets to give out them. They are allowed to win additional tickets. They also see how they get more or less tickets from their behaviour, and hopefully adjust them the next time.

  ### 16. Great, flexible tool for management and communication!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ava M. | Communications Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I used the parent communication tools the most. I especially loved the built in translator feature for my families who spoke languages other than English. I also used the points system for specific students in my special education setting for whom the earning of points was motivating.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

The system can take some time to adjust to and there's a learning curve to integrating it smoothly into your teaching. It works best with a highly trained assistant or para, which not every teacher has.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

If you have a paraprofessional or assistant in your class, it's helpful to have them trained in ClassDojo as well -- it can be tough to be assigning points while also teaching, depending on your setting. I also highly recommend using the neutral (+/- 0) points option, rather than deducting points. For students with significant behavioral challenges, the loss of points can trigger a behavior spiral. I like to only give points, and use the +/-0 to track off-target behaviors. I can use that data without having the student suffer a loss of points.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem it solved for me was parent communications. It was my one stop shop for letting the whole class know about upcoming events, and allowed me to touch base with individual parents with ease.

  ### 17. ClassDojo in my Classroom

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

Being able to quickly communicate with parents. It is just like sending a text message and notifies me, as well as a parent when there is a message.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I wish I could add the kids’ pictures instead of their avatar.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

ClassDojo is an amazing software that makes classroom management and parent communication a breeze. It’s so neat to see the students’ faces when they earn a Dojo point. In addition, it makes communicating with parents instantaneous. I recommend ClassDojo for any teacher looking for a way to manage student behavior and communicate with parents at the same time.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to send newsletters on Dojo, instead of having to print newsletters. Also I am able to share behavior concerns instantly, instead of having to find time to call them. Also, parents can see exactly what kids are doing when I upload pictures and videos.

  ### 18. Helpful for Parent - Teacher Updates

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I like having an app that’s easy to use to see how they are doing at school. I get daily and weekly reports of my kids positive and negative behavior as well as being able to see pictures of their day and send messages to their teachers.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

Videos that teachers upload never have volume for me, despite my phone volume being on. I also like being able to save the photo and I can’t. That’s probably a safety feature but screenshot allows the same thing so I’m not sure it does anything to help.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Very easy app for teachers to parents. Helps parents stay connected in one place.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If my child will be late, or I need to remind their teacher of some thing, I can use the app. Teachers can likewise remind me to sign permission forms, etc.

There is no seperate space to make upload of assignments very easy

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Make use of all the features on there. Don't limit yourself. This is an app with amazing features

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently during Lockdown, class dojo helps me to stay in contact with all of my learners and they upload their work for me to mark

  ### 21. Fun and user-friendly for students and teachers alike

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashleigh N. | Educator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I like that it is a rewards-based system geared towards engaging students in a meaningful way. The students get excited to see their characters. It also allows parents to communicate and receive general announcements in a simple way. As a teacher we don't have much extra time, this allows for quick and efficient communication.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

There truly isn't anything that I have experienced thus far using Class Dojo that I do not like.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy way to track student participation, rewards, etc. Being able to make groups on the fly is one of my very favorite features!

  ### 22. Great Tool for Class

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alicyn C. | HR Liaison, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

That you can access the teacher and your student/child at any time during the school day.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I haven't really found anything on this program that I dislike, yet.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When my children are having an off day. I find that the teacher can reach out to me, I get pinged on my phone and can reply. The teacher can show the message to my child in order to assist them with getting my child into the right mindset while in school.

  ### 23. Engaging behavior management tool for young students

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I love that students and families can visually see a consequence for positive or negative behavior. Students also love the colorful animations and avatars that are available.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

Class dojo is much easier to use on a smart board than it is to use on a smart phone. It is also more effective when the students' scores are projected on the board, which is not always possible.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

I recommend using ClassDojo for younger elementary students.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're solving many classroom behavior issues with ClassDojo. Students are highly motivated by earning and keeping their classdojo points, which prevents many behavior infractions. Additionally, ClassDojo has helped to close the communication gap with parents and families.

  ### 24. Practical app for in and outside the classroom

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

The app automatically syncs the messages you write on other devices. It's very convenient in keeping in touch with the parents without sharing your phone number. It can also help you in managing the classroom in an easy way.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

The app disables pop-ups by default, thus some parents can't access links through messages. The negative feedback is something that shouldn't be part of an app like this. Although it is up to the user to use it or not, negative reinforcement should never be part of the classroom.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The app makes communication easy and fast. You can also upload your own avatars which is a huge plus. Uploading the ones you know your class will love, makes the app even stronger in classroom management.

  ### 25. Class points and easy statics

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I like that i can use it on my phone when im not near my computer at school

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I don't like that the reasoning of some of the feedback given for giving points the can be the same

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

As a first year teacher i wanted to make sure i use data to see my behavior management within my classroom. I use this with my sped students all 12 of them and my students can change their emotes to reflect them and be into it.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use this as a point system in my sped education classroom. I like that is technology based and i can see that im being fair and see overall analytics of my class behaviors.

  ### 27. The Fun Way to Manage Your Classes

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** JEFFRI T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

There are many things to point out but for me, it's the friendly user interface. By using colorful themes and characters, students will feel less studying and more having fun.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

If you are the first person from your school to join, there are some hoops to jump through.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

It's worth trying as one fun alternative to classroom management.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Especially in this "Study from Home" era, the classes are more organized and easier to handle than using folders and spreadsheets.

  ### 28. Class Dojo is helpful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I am able to communicate with families using “Class Story” and messages for specific communication. Class dojo points are a great incentive for students and helps with creating goals and/or challenges within a class or across classrooms.

I also love the ability to share videos.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I wish families could make posts, pending approval.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’m able to communicate with families despite school (currently) being closed due to coronavirus.

Our school also has a page which allows us to reach out and share necessary resources.

This helps us keep in touch and be sure our families quickly receive vital information with this useful app.

  ### 29. Class Dojo has been very helpful to me as a teacher!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I liked that parents could connect to teachers at anytime. For students struggling with behavior needs they could see how their child was doing, so when they got home they could praise them or discuss their day right away. I also loved the Growth Mindset videos that they put together. The kids loved these videos and parents could go over them and reinforce growth mindset at home. This helps to boost the child's self esteem and help them to understand how they learn.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

The only thing I have ever had problems with is parents sometime have trouble logging in or if they automatically get logged off, they can't see the updates. Those were very minor issues that were easily solved. I have not had any problems with class Dojo.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

It is important that all parents sign up. If they don't sign up continue to send them reminders or ask them if you can assist them in signing up.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I send send messages and reminders to parents and they get it immediately! I can reach all parents or individual parents also. It is great for newsletters , notes home or reminders. Like I said above parents can track behavior so they know what kind of day their child is having. They can also contact me to problem solve ways to help. With so many parents working different shifts or with split families, they know how their child is doing and they can contact me at anytime and I will get their message, so their isn't a delayed response to behavior.

  ### 30. Great Behavior Tracker

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erica P. | Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2019

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I like that it does more than just keep track of positive and negative behavior.I like that it can help students with learning skills like courage, politeness, kindness and more. I like that you can share photos of what you do in class, message families and post student work to their individual portfolio. It is nice multiple parents/families can connect and see their child's work and behavior. You can make your own positive and negative points and what they are for.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I wish there was more monster options for my large class so they do not have to have the same one.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Behavior. I use the points to give out tickets and they can get candy or prizes from those tickets. It is an incentive to them to earn more tickets. They also see how their behavior gets them more or less tickets and hopefully adjust to get more the next time.

  ### 34. Keep in Touch with Parents

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah P. | ESL Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

This is a great app to keep in touch with parents and keep track of student behavior. You can send messages to individual parents, or send a class-wide message for all parents to see.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

As with any app, not all parents will keep up with it to check on their child.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Even if you just use it as a way to keep track of student behavior, it is worth it.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This helps track student behavior in an easy to see way. You can choose to track positive and negative behaviors.

  ### 35. Classdojo So Versatile

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Craig Y. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

Students like to customize their own Dojo avatars. I s good to be able to keep track of behaviors and to show to kids and parents progress and areas of improvement. Like the two way communication that is built in.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

Don't like how some students can be more apt to receive a negative behavior. Would rather behaviors be intrinsic.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Customize behaviors to fit your needs.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Some classroom behaviors. Benefit realized of alternate way of class management.

  ### 36. Great for teachers, students, and parents!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda S. | Instructional Specialist, Primary/Secondary Education, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2018

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

As a Administrator, I enjoy getting to be part of each of my staff's classrooms, and can monitor student behavior, teacher to parent communication, and read class story updates. I love that it has mindfulness activities, video clips, random generating names from the class for easily selecting students to speak aloud. Being able to show students how they earn points during the day helps for positive behavior strategies and you can send home reports each day, week, and month. It tracks all progress.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

There isn't much as of yet that we have found to dislike, but we are still exploring all the functionalities of the product. It can be frustrating when you want to connect both parents to the same student, as it connects by adding individual phone numbers. So when the teacher wants to message home, they have to message each parent separately and can't just send one total message.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

This is great for teachers, and staff alike. It allows teachers to message parents one on one, and also whole school messages. The teachers can post stories, photos, information, images of homework, classwork, and so much more. This is perfect for elementary school, and middle school.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I really like that my school has fully adopted Class Dojo this year as a replacement to the "color system" in the classrooms to track behavior. Not only does it help teachers monitor and track student behavior, it also gives a quick and easy platform for teachers to communicate back and forth to parents.

  ### 37. Great Classroom Tool for Students and Parents

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

Class dojo is great for keeping students and parents on the same page about their behavior that day. It also provides a great reward incentive and is clear about how students are doing in a way they can comprehend.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

The only thing I disliked while using Classdojo was I wish there was a comment section. Such as if a student loses a point but makes amends or tries to change their behavior you can make a note for parents to see this growth.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

It’s a great tool to try out if you are looking for a way to track behavior or class work. Also love that it is Sub friendly

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not person to person, so sometimes you cannot fully grasp what you can in person

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As we are all homeschooling right now, ClassDojo is the platform our child's teacher uses to share weekly lessons and instructions day to day. It is great!

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2019

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

The UI has really evolved since this app first emerged. The characters are more vibrant and the overall look and navigation is inviting and intuitive. There are features to communicate directly with parents and fun game like settings to help encourage positive behaviors for students. My child enjoys also the ability to modify the monster avatar. The DM feature allows a teacher to share directly to parents or post to a social media like feed to communicate during the day classroom activities. We have really enjoyed getting to see pictures and videos that can be posted.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

There is a paid version and many of my students in the past could not afford these features. It would also be nice if more behaviors could be featured in the points section.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Great tool for teachers at the Pre-K and elementary age levels.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love how easy it is to stay in touch with parents and remind them of the activities at school. It is helpful for sending out invitations, requests, and photos of the students.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

The behavior points seem to be a little shame-based. I think it is great for trying to connect with parents though for reminders and sharing what is going on in the classroom.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Take some time to talk with the teacher to see how it will be used before you sign up for it. If they are using it for a behavior management system you might consider something else.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can stay in contact with teachers, and we have enjoyed seeing photos of what students are doing throughout the day. There are many activities to remember for my kindergartener and having notification reminders it is helpful.

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I LOVE being able to quickly message parents about their child’s day. The point system for behavior has also been a game changer. Now during remote leaving, I’ve utilized the portfolio feature for students to show proof of written work completion.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I wish the portfolio feature would allow me to archive past activities at once. It’s a bit of a time killer to have to archive each one individually.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Behavior management. Also love that parents can’t reply all to group emails!

  ### 50. Great way to stay in touch with parents!

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

We love how easy it is for to keep in touch with the parents of our summer campers! You can download the app, or just use the website. You can add additional "co-teachers" to each session. There is a private (invite only) area where you can upload photos. You can send quick messages with ease!

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I honestly cannot think of anything that I do not like about this program

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Give it a try! There is no cost to using the service and we only have positive experiences thus far!

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can now easily share photos in real time. Parents always want to know what their camper is up to during the day, and it is as simple as posting to facebook, but it is secure and only the parents invited can view the images shared. It is also a great way to communicate with an individual or group of parents (bulk email and text message options)
