## ClassDojo Reviews
  ### 1. Great Communication and Updates from My Child's Teachers

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** zaryah h. | ADVOCATE REP, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2025

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

constant communication with my child's teachers. i was able to get picture updates and see her progress/struggles through out the day.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I actually don't have any complaints about the app.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to keep up with my child's day at glance. I have constant communication with people around my kid all day

  ### 2. Great app for classroom teachers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kimberly T. | ALPHA Mentor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2022

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

The great thing about this particular app was the ability to connect with/message the parents quickly through text in the app! Also, parents were able to view when their student was rewarded or reprimanded for their behavior using a point system within the app. When students did well in class, the teacher could choose what they were being rewarded for and when students needed redirection, the reason was indicated and points were taken accordingly. In addition, you could display student points on the projector so the students could see and even hear when they received points or heard of points being taken away. It made rewarding and giving consequences very interactive! I genuinely believe that this app helped my students perform better in class!

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

The only issue that I had with using Class Dojo was that the school district eventually told staff that we could no longer use it since it was not district-approved.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Class Dojo allowed us to minimize the time in which students' parents were notified about their child's behavior and allowed the parents to see the range of activities their child engaged in daily. Also, it made notifying parents of current events and updates quick and efficient.

  ### 3. ClassDojo with my students

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura M. | Teacher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2022

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

ClassDojo was a great way for teachers to monitor behavior and for students to track their behavior over the course of the day. It also allowed parents to see how their children were doing and to connect with teachers if they had questions. It also had other tools like a randomizer and group maker that I used for lessons.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I don't remember many downsides, to be honest. I *think* it had a message translator, but I don't remember. (We last used ClassDojo three years ago, and we've had some things happen since then) ;)

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When we used it, Class Dojo helped us to communicate with the families of our students and gave creative solutions for classroom management. Two-way family communication is essential for student success, and this made it creative and easy.

  ### 4. Classdojo makes you a Class master in no time

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abdelkadir B. | Online and In-home English Tutor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2021

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

- I like how classDojo makes is teacher-parent interaction easier.
- i love the videos it provides that teach social and emotional skills.
- I like the point system ClassDojo uses which helps motivate students.
- I love how you can use it on Tablets, phones, laptops, etc...
- I like how fun, easy and customizable it is.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I don't have any negative point to adress, except maybe for the fact that you cannot use it with adult learners.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

If you are Reading this it means fate has guided you here, since you are here it also means you diffinitely need classDojo for it'll make your classroom easier to manage and more enjoyable for both you and your students, i Never regretted a day After i implémented ClassDojo into my classroom and i assure you that you will not either.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using Classdojo overall has been a wonderful experience. It is so easy and flexible to use across platforms, it was so easy to implement in my classroom and helped me keep my students motivated and focused at all times while having fun, it also helped me keep in touch with parent which was a hard thing to do during the pandemic, Both students and parents loved the experience which makes it a must for me to recommend it to every teacher around the world.

  ### 5. Class Dojo is great as an individual communication platform

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2022

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I like that you can reward points, contact families directly, and post student work instantly.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

The downsides are that it is difficult to translate with non english speakers and for class dojo to be effective, there needs to be buy in from all staff.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps families stay connected quickly and easily

  ### 6. Good for Incentives

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelsey G. | Speech and language pathologist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2021

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

My favorite part about ClassDojo is that the characters are very engaging and cute. My students love to select their icons, and it keeps them highly motivated. I also enjoy that I can communicate with parents through the app.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

Something I dislike about ClassDojo is that the process of getting parents to connect to the ClassDojo account can be difficult. I often have to step by step guide my families to connecting to the app.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A problem I am solving with ClassDojo is communication with families; through the app, the parent can text me and I can respond, send pictures or videos, all securely through the app. A benefit that I have realized is that I can incentivize my students to earn points through ClassDojo by their good behavior.

  ### 7. Easy to navigate but more tricky to edit on a mobile device

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michele F. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

Easy to navigate around and to see latest notifications or posts. You can see notices to you as the parent and then switch to see it from your child(ren)'s point of view where it lists their work and outstanding activities. Like most things, this is only as useful as the school that uses it makes it and it depends on how they wish to utilise it.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

It's really not easy to edit documents on a mobile device but it's pretty simple on a PC. There's also no way to know if a message sent has been seen.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Get they buy in of the school so that all features are utilised. Request the tech is updated to be better optimised for mobile use.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I get to track my child's homework and get notified of any important messages from the school. It is the primary form of communication given the need to be paperless with Covid-19 around.

  ### 8. Easy communication tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2021

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

Quick access to families through two way text

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

Inconsistency in program - have had to reinstall several times to stay logged in, or messages would not come through as a notification

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Consistent family communication

  ### 9. helps me monitor my child's performance

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** andrew l. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

Classdojo helps me to communicate very effectively with teachers, especially when I cannot go frequently, to school or school meetings if I am very busy, what I like most about classdojo is that it is like a social network in which we can be I can even send messages to the teachers that my son is ill or that he will be late to school or even the teachers notify me of my son's compartment or his student performance even the teachers can leave messages on the board and I can see where they are working or what they are doing at any time also its ease of use is great ew very intuitive anyone can use it even without prior knowledge

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I have not had any problems with the application but I would love for the application to have more functions such as maybe a didactic game or puzzles or puzzles that children can use and be distracted depending on that not everything is tasks but rather that they learn having fun too and not be so tedious for them

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My use of the application is to monitor my child's school performance, especially if I do not have time to attend school, I am aware of his performance

  ### 10. Class Dojo

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin H. | Program Chair, Secondary Education; Associate Professor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

My favorite feature is ease of messaging to students or parents in a safe and contextualized environment. At it's best, it's an excellent communication tool that allows sharing of pictures and other progress. The group maker is a really handy quick tool for creating small groups. I'll say more about the awarding of points built into the program in a moment, but if used carefully there are helpful ways a teacher can show parents and students where their strengths are and when they are having a good day.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

Although this is a major feature, the points component does worry me. There is a strong behaviorist approach apparent in assigning 'points' for students doing well or poorly, and there's a good deal of research on the negative impacts this can have early on. It's like a digital version of the behavior clip up/clip down board, and i personally deeply disagree with this behavioral management approach. That said, teachers don't have to use the app in this way, but i do still list it as a dislike since the app structure may encourage such use.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communication with parents and classroom management for groups have been great - it's so easy to just pull out the phone for these tasks.

  ### 11. It's a nice communication tool, but...

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mason O. | Education Professional, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I like that Class Dojo is set up to be a communication tool between parents for both text communication and behavior communications. It's also good that it's accessible via an app or the web.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I dislike that communications do not always come through in real-time. Sometimes I've received communications that were time sensitive too late and had parents upset I did not respond. Also, as a behavior recorder, I feel you are stuck either making broad categories and having to explain every interaction or make each interaction so specific that it takes forever to find it.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Class Dojo has made my parents feel that they can communicate with me more often, which had improved relationships. It's also been a decent source of data for discussing social strengths and weaknesses of students by pinpointing where they seem to have the most problems/sucess.

  ### 12. Great for Positive Reinforcement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew R. | Special Education Teacher, Education Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

Class Dojo is easy to use and is much more than just individual point tracking. You have the ability to group students and give positive or negative points. This helps reinforce the behavior you want in your classroom. The program offers a super simple user interface. The program makes it easy for teachers, parents, and students to use without confusion.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

There is not much I dislike about this program. I always like to suggest more options for the character selection since some of them can be "elementary". However, they have added custom options that help eliminate this negative. I implemented this program in both high school (grades 9-12) and middle school (grades 6-8), and it was a hit with both groups of students. However, i should note that the middle school students latched on much easier and quicker than the older students. Many of the older students thought it was t0o "elementary" for them.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Class Dojo is extremely easy to use. It is free and a great tool for the classroom. There are a lot of way to implement this program into the classroom. Try it out and see what works best for you and your students. I personally like to group the students and share the screen that way. Many teachers have great success with individual as well.

Class Dojo has a great support page titled "teacher help desk" where you can view the frequently asked questions, and helpful videos to get you started. I recommend looking through the help desk before getting started.

The team at Class Dojo has done an excellent job up building this program and adding features each year. If there is a feature that you need that is missing, use the "submit a request" feature to ask for features that you need. This is a great way to be a part of the process and build the program to your specific needs.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I share my Class Dojo screen with my students so they can view the points and see how each group is doing. It turns classroom management into a competition. My students are literally competing on who can behave the best in my classroom. I personally did not give points to individual students. I grouped my students by the seating chart, and distributed points by groups.

  ### 13. ClassDojo - Middle School Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hannah C. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I love being able to communicate with parents via an "instant message." You do not need to share phone numbers to share messages that send and receive like text messages. When used correctly, students can get excited about creating their own character and are relatively motivated to earn points. When used as a team, ClassDojo is effective at classroom and school management.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

In my opinion, ClassDojo does not work the best in a middle school setting unless it is used across the board and becomes an expectation. If you do not use it consistently and in real time, it can become punitive, random, and not effective. You have to have access to the app pretty frequently so you can address behavior right away; its best not to wait until the behavior has passed.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

This app works well when used by a team or an entire school. This could be a launch pad for positive behavior incentives that could be implemented via grade level or school. I enjoyed this app when I used it frequently but think the impacts could be greater when used as part of a team or large number of people.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parent communication is definitely a plus here - there are no word limits like with Remind. Parents can see behaviors their scholar has exemplified, both positive and negative (if used correctly). Building the bridge between school and home is relatively solved by using this method of frequent and consistent communication.

  ### 14. User friendly but not comprehensive

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nichole S. | Executive Admin, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I like that it is a one stop shop for all of my children's classes and teachers, and that I can contact my children's teachers quickly about assignments.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I wish that it had more functionality for us to see the class assignments and progress, instead of having to have a different forum to log into to see those.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like that I can contact my children's teachers about assignments and get them to respond faster than sending an email that could get buried before it is answered.

  ### 15. Helpful for Parent - Teacher Updates

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I like having an app that’s easy to use to see how they are doing at school. I get daily and weekly reports of my kids positive and negative behavior as well as being able to see pictures of their day and send messages to their teachers.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

Videos that teachers upload never have volume for me, despite my phone volume being on. I also like being able to save the photo and I can’t. That’s probably a safety feature but screenshot allows the same thing so I’m not sure it does anything to help.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Very easy app for teachers to parents. Helps parents stay connected in one place.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If my child will be late, or I need to remind their teacher of some thing, I can use the app. Teachers can likewise remind me to sign permission forms, etc.

  ### 16. Engaging behavior management tool for young students

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I love that students and families can visually see a consequence for positive or negative behavior. Students also love the colorful animations and avatars that are available.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

Class dojo is much easier to use on a smart board than it is to use on a smart phone. It is also more effective when the students' scores are projected on the board, which is not always possible.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

I recommend using ClassDojo for younger elementary students.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're solving many classroom behavior issues with ClassDojo. Students are highly motivated by earning and keeping their classdojo points, which prevents many behavior infractions. Additionally, ClassDojo has helped to close the communication gap with parents and families.

  ### 17. Class points and easy statics

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carol E. | Classroom aid special education , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I like that i can use it on my phone when im not near my computer at school

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I don't like that the reasoning of some of the feedback given for giving points the can be the same

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

As a first year teacher i wanted to make sure i use data to see my behavior management within my classroom. I use this with my sped students all 12 of them and my students can change their emotes to reflect them and be into it.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use this as a point system in my sped education classroom. I like that is technology based and i can see that im being fair and see overall analytics of my class behaviors.

  ### 18. ClassDojo

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I like that it enables you to hold students accountable and reward them as needed.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I haven't found anything I dislike about Dojo. It does what it's supposed to do.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

If you want a way to document students behavior or keep track of their meeting of expectations, class dojo is a wonderful tool. It's also great for communicating with parents.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows my students to see how they are meeting my expectations. It gives them immediate feedback and helps with motivation.

  ### 19. The Fun Way to Manage Your Classes

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** JEFFRI T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

There are many things to point out but for me, it's the friendly user interface. By using colorful themes and characters, students will feel less studying and more having fun.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

If you are the first person from your school to join, there are some hoops to jump through.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

It's worth trying as one fun alternative to classroom management.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Especially in this "Study from Home" era, the classes are more organized and easier to handle than using folders and spreadsheets.

  ### 20. Classdojo So Versatile

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Craig Y. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

Students like to customize their own Dojo avatars. I s good to be able to keep track of behaviors and to show to kids and parents progress and areas of improvement. Like the two way communication that is built in.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

Don't like how some students can be more apt to receive a negative behavior. Would rather behaviors be intrinsic.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Customize behaviors to fit your needs.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Some classroom behaviors. Benefit realized of alternate way of class management.

  ### 21. Good but needs to add more features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I like the ideas of student profiles. It allows students to take control of certain aspects of their platform

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I wish they were better management in terms of the students redeeming their points. For example teacher should be allowed to label what the points were redeemed for in order to keep a record of them

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

When using ClassDojo and make sure that your parents and students understand how the software works. It is a good idea to train them. Make sure you have clear expectations in terms of how to receive rewards and the merits

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am allowing transparency on behalf of the parents and students in terms of the rewards and the merit system.

  ### 22. Easy Social Media-like Communication

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

It's easy to post announcements to everyone or private messages.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I would like to be able to attach files or pictures to messages inserted of having to use the portfolio.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

It's a commonly used app and familiar to many educators, but I hear there are similar apps that earn teachers rewards.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most parents are willing to sign up and use this regularly to communicate. Its an easy way to post announcements to everyone at once.

  ### 23. Class dojo

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

Class dojo is a great classroom management program that works well with my kindergarten students. It provides great incentives for good behavior.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

Having to remember to add / subtract points and it can be hard to keep up with the points and rewards etc.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Try it as a great classroom management option!

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to keep track of individual and class behaviors and is a wonderful way to motivate my students !

  ### 24. The application is fun, colorful, versatile, and informative.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mitchell D. | Fine Arts Instructor, Individual & Family Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2019

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

The UI has really evolved since this app first emerged. The characters are more vibrant and the overall look and navigation is inviting and intuitive. There are features to communicate directly with parents and fun game like settings to help encourage positive behaviors for students. My child enjoys also the ability to modify the monster avatar. The DM feature allows a teacher to share directly to parents or post to a social media like feed to communicate during the day classroom activities. We have really enjoyed getting to see pictures and videos that can be posted.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

There is a paid version and many of my students in the past could not afford these features. It would also be nice if more behaviors could be featured in the points section.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Great tool for teachers at the Pre-K and elementary age levels.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to share and communicate with parents and stakeholders. The app is easy to install and allows me the ability to stay in contact and communicate when needed.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

Limited assignment management/lesson delivery functionalities.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like the ability to reward students for good behavior immediately!

  ### 26. We use class dojo at our school to incentivize behavior and to collect behavior data on our students

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian J. | Special Education Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2019

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I like that you can create reports and spreadsheets to give visual representations of data

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I would like to see the data displayed in either a bar graph or line graph. That option is not available.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

This is a good program to use if you are looking for something that gives you a visual representation and immediate behavior feedback.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving the problem of how to keep behavior data for each student in each class and to provide an incentive program for the students to buy into.

  ### 27. Set up a dojo in your classroom.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ONA D. | Profesora, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2018

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

The best thing about ClassDojo is how easy it is to use, the low economic cost it requires (even the free version is valid), and mainly the look of the program that attracts students, encourages them to study and behave to take their dojo characters to the top, based on good behavior and correct answers in class.
Additionally, it works from the browser and does not require installation. It is compatible with any electronic device connected to the network.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

What I don't like is that it tends to be too childish in its appearance, and this puts off students in more advanced courses, when really the system should work the same. It's also possible that it might fall short on options, and if we take the step to the paid version, it's somewhat expensive.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Classdojo. Totally recommended. It allows us to increase the quality of classroom organization, motivate students in their learning and behavior, and establish better communication channels with the students' parents. All of this is free and without installing software, being compatible with any electronic device.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has solved many problems in the classroom related to attention levels in class, behavior, study, and academic work both outside and inside the classroom. Classdojo, combined with the cooperative learning techniques we use in our center, is proving to be a complete success for both students and teachers.

  ### 28. Work Smart with ClassDojo

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ayesha A. A. | Substitute Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2019

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

The upsides of using ClassDojo include managing students' behaviors, implementing research-based behaviorist principles, and having unique, engaging characters.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

The downsides of using ClassDojo include not being available offline, as well as not having an option for creating quizzes that involve the monsters.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

It is an efficient tool that facilitates teaching and learning in the classroom.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a former, full-time classroom teacher, I have solved behavior issues and increased students' engagement.

  ### 29. I can see my kids' behavior each day.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2019

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

The best part of ClassDojo is that it simplifies my communication with my children's teachers. I can see key behaviors each day, notice changes and track progress. It's easy for her to share class announcements and photos of activities without the time involvement of an individual website. There's separate information for each child / teacher who uses the app, but it's all accessible to me through my one log-in.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I don't like that I have to scroll day by day to look at the big picture. It'd be nice to have a calendar / month view to look back. I'm not a fan of making a fuss over the characters children can choose and personalize, but I realize that feature can be appealing for children who log in themselves.
I especially don't like the new "family" feature, where parents can assign or deduct points for things at home. I don't see it being practical.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest benefit is the instant communication with my kids' teachers. My kids are pretty well behaved, but this way I know daily what they did that was great as well as anything where they had problems. I can keep reinforcing and rewarding positive behavior and help them correct negative behavior without waiting for more sporadic progress reports or teacher conferences.

  ### 30. ClassDojo Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2019

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

The best thing about classdojo is that it encourages students to participate and behave in the class. It also makes the classroom environment more competitive when points are awarded in different activities. The fact that the teachers can upload photos of the children makes it all the better. It allows parents to see how their children are doing at school.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

The fact that there are very basic criteria such as on task, off task, etc. If there were a more variety of points, it'd be easier for the teachers to award points and more fun for the students because there'd be a wider variety of ways in which they can improve. These points could probably be more skill based where there would be no negative marking system. The negative marking system may be discouraging for a few students and after a point in time, they may just give up on trying to get positives. This attitude would eventually spread across the classroom, and the class would go back to its original self.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

All in all, it is a great platform for students and makes the classroom more interactive rather than the blend chalk and talk way of teaching. Children are encouraged to take more and get rid of the timidness.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a part of a very troublesome class, classdojo helped tame the class. Students tend to participate more when given a reward. This means that there is high participation with high discipline. This makes the class more interactive. Even in quizzes, when points are promised, the students put in their 110%.

  ### 31. ClassDojo review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2019

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

ClassDojo is a great way to share information with students and keep class work organized

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

At this time there is nothing that I dislike about ClassDojo

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding an easy system to distribute online material and class work to students

  ### 32. Dojo.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mariano D. | Estudiante Grado superior, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2018

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

What I like most about Dojo is that we can compete with the other students and improve the avatar that represents us by correctly answering the questions the teacher asks us and having a collaborative attitude with the rest of the class and classmates.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

What I don't like is the appearance of the characters, too childish. It should have better images. Sometimes I've had synchronization issues when switching between electronic devices while connecting to class, but it eventually gets resolved. In cases of classes with adult students, it doesn't happen, but with minors, the application connects with the parents and reveals private information to them, which can have consequences at home.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Class Dojo encourages you to do things well in the classroom to progress your avatar at the same time as you progress in your learning as a student.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ClassDojo encourages us to study, makes it more fun, improves communication with the teacher, and provides us with a centralized space to share some resources. The competition generated against other students is healthy and fun.

  ### 33. Class Dojo, my way to be connected

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2019

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

My favorite thing about class dojo is the easy parent communication aspect. I can send whole class messages for upcoming events, individual messages for student behavior, and class posts for things done in class.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

My least favorite thing about class dojo would have to be the time it takes to get all my parents signed up for it. With that being said, this is something I could easily improve myself by coming more familiar with the product and helping my parents.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Class dojo allows me to use a safe platform to keep my parents updated and informed about any needs their students have.

  ### 34. ClassDojo for teachers, parents, and students.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sandra S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2018

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

The best part is that I finally have my classes organized in a fun way for the students, which allows us to be in constant real-time communication with the parents, as long as they have access to the internet and an electronic device, of course.
The students can see the progress of their avatar, which, as if it were a PlayStation, will improve its attributes if they study, do their homework, behave well in class, and answer the teacher's questions.
This creates an atmosphere of interest in the subject in class with the aim of improving the avatar.
For the parents, it's great because if a student misses class that day, the parent or guardian will be notified instantly.
It also has an instant messaging section so that both parents and students can ask the teacher directly.
The interface is very intuitive and it's very easy to create classes in just a few clicks, as well as perform their day-to-day maintenance.
It has zero cost for implementation and use.
We can send photos to the parents of the activities that need to be done at home.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

You need an internet connection. If one day, for whatever reason, you can't have it, you won't be able to save the progress.
Some parents have complained that they now feel like slaves to their phones, to have more control over their children, but I don't really see that as a problem with the application.
The kids complain that they now feel more controlled. We must try to make them see that the application is there to have fun learning and not to overwhelm them.
With students over sixteen years old, the avatar system may seem somewhat simple and ridiculous.
You will need the light cannon. If you don't have it in your classroom, you can't use this application. It is essential for the kids to see their progress.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Experiment for a few days with your students in one class before implementing the system all at once in all your courses. If you see that it works, go ahead.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has facilitated communication with parents and students, the majority of the students are loving it, so for now we have only seen progress with the organization and atmosphere of the classroom.

  ### 35. Great Way to Communicate!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2019

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I love being able to post stories of what’s going on in my class every day. It’s a very useful tool to keep parents involved in their child’s day.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I would like to be able to send videos to a parent individually. I also do not like that it is difficult to know which parent I am electing to contact as it only names then as “parent” I would prefer mom, dad or even their name.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

It’s a great classroom tool!

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communication between parents and teachers is key. Parents being updated throughout the day is a huge selling point with which to entice enrollment.

  ### 36. Dojo

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melynda Bertrand R. | principal , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2019

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

Ease of use. Can do it from your phone while it’s in the palm of your hand.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

If you have something already up on the projector the students can’t see who received points.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

The students will love the icons/avatars

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it as a classroom management tool. Students can see how many points they have earned. If the screen isn’t visible Students can at least hear a chime so it keeps them interested and wondering who received a point.

  ### 37. A Good System but not the Best

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2019

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I like the best that you can give kids rewards for points they earn. The children behave accordingly because they’ve want those points.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I dislike the fact that it’s A. An activity students can’t really be involved in themselves with it online and B. It’s kind of boring. It would be better if more interesting features were added.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ClassDojo is inexpensive. It’s more inexpensive than other systems so that’s a plus. The children behave well because of the system also.

  ### 38. ClassDojo

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2019

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I like that it is flexible, cross platform and cross device. It was also nice to have the parent/administrator contact options.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

It was too centered on elementary concepts and layouts, causing me to spend too much time adapting it to my high school students' needs.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Very good for an elementary classroom setting, possibly even junior high. In the right high school setting it could be useful, but I deal with severely emotionally handicapped children and it was not useful for that setting.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Efficiency and communication with stakeholders

  ### 39. Not great for middle school

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2019

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

Tools- the “people picker” as I call it assures true random choosing so students don’t complain that I’m either picking on them or never choose them. Love the point system and messaging - especially like sharing photos with parents.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

Can’t create individual point tracker for classes that have a mix from other classes.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Great for elementary school kids and teachers

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Good communication tool

  ### 40. Works okay but could be better

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I do not like how you can’t see the names of the parents.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Dojo is a great way to see how your child is doing in class while you are away from them.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to speak with parents and making time to do so.

  ### 41. Dojo

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2019

Motivation

  ### 42. DOJO Changed my classroom

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2018

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I really like how students are able to change their characters because it is a great incentive as a teacher. I also love that when given a positive or negative point, students can hear the sound it makes. As a teacher, I really like to look at the report when meeting with parents/students for conferences. I also like that I can post pictures and comments on there

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I wish there was an easier way to give the majority of the students points at the same time in another way. I don't like having to click on each individual student.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a great tool to keep track of student behavior in the classroom as well communication with parents.

I like that I can see pictures of my child during the day learning and interacting with her classmates. The school wife reminders are wonderful and no lore papers to keep up with. The direct message option is great for communication with teachers and staff.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I can’t save the photos or videos without a screenshot even though I am a registered parent.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

None at this time

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easier to communicate with all school personnel and parents

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

It is easy to ask questions on homework, or let her know when our son is sick. Alternatively, we get classroom updates and photos regularly!

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I wish there was an option to send a message to the whole class, instead of just the teacher.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Straightforward communication between parents and teachers

That the children see instantly that they are showing positive behavior.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I wish there was another way to project it. When I am using my Eno board for other things Class Dojo can not be seen.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

Find a way that it can be projected all the time without interfering with other learning.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Children look forward in seeing their Dojo and start to behaving better. I also use it to communicate with parentsZ

  ### 48. Cute Class Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah S. | Teacher, Primary/Secondary Education, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2018

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I like the ability to quickly communicate student behavior with parents as well as share information on the fly. I appreciate being able to share photos of events like field trips that parents would not otherwise be able to see.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

I dislike that I cans subtract specific amounts of points if students want to “spend “ them for rewards. I wish it were more like a bank account type setup.

**Recommendations to others considering ClassDojo:**

This is good for elementary teachers; I tried it with sixth grade several years ago but they didn’t buy in. My fourth graders love it and so do their parents.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am cutting down on the Time it takes to communicate with each parent regularly. I can share much more information in much less time.

  ### 49. Class Dojo

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2019

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

I like how I can project this app up on my whiteboard for my class to see and keep track of their points earned.

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

The only reason I don’t like to use this is for the fact that many of my parents didn’t follow it and never really knew how their child was doing in school.

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It encourages better behavior and becomes a contest amongst my students.

  ### 50. Class dojo

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2019

**What do you like best about ClassDojo?**

Easy to communicate with teacher and easy to keep track of child's behavior in class

**What do you dislike about ClassDojo?**

Should send a daily notification like a text about child's behavior when they get a negative report or even positive instead of having to open the app at the end of the day to see

**What problems is ClassDojo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not everyone in school uses it only some teachers use it. Keeping up with reports
