ClassDojo is great in that is enables you to easily track specific behaviors. It can be particularly effective if you’re able to keep the points displayed throughout the day so students can see their progress in real time. It’s also designed to be an effective means of communication, especially for students who don’t bring notes to their parents or parents who don’t answer the phone. It’s difficult to balance the need to track specific behaviors with the need to keep class moving and not spend too much time marking the behaviors. This application is great for classroom management. Each student is given a character and points are assigned by the teacher. Parents are also able to log in and see how their student is doing in class. There is also an option to send messages to parents, which is convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about ClassDojo? The application uses a lot of memory on my phone. I find that it is easier to use on my laptop. I actually stopped using classdojo in my teaching practice because I teach upperclassmen and find the software to be too geared towards elementary/middle school aged learners. Our school does use it as a cool tool to share photos with one another when we perform public service or have interesting classroom or after-school activities or go on trips so I am more of a passive user, though I do share pictures with the school community (teaches, students, parents, admin).
