Clarizen is a top end SAAS project and portfolio management software which gets work done. Easy to configure and customize to fit business use.
I like the reports and dashboard which provide a holistic view of project and life cycle.
Tool offers inbuild collaboration and integration with Active Directory which we use for auto user provisioning. Other integrations we use is with Salesforce to create projects and sync financial data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The product has limitation with custom fields and they cost when exhausted. The CSM are not technical , at least that's the expectation i heard from them.
It would be good to get first hand solution instead of speaking to Professional service which cost $$$. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think Clarizen is easy to use and it includes many of the items that are useful for our organization. We use it to manage client facing projects and portfolios. We also use it for internal and external meetings to track progress and to track against baselines. I think keeping Clarizen updated is fairly intuitive, and the interface is also simple. It is much easier to manage than MS Project and has many more features beyond SmartSheet. I think our organization has improved in our credibility as well as our project tracking since we implemented Clarizen. It also has been helpful for internal communication on projects across the team and for issue tracking.
I also really enjoy the portfolio management aspect as in the past I have managed multiple product implementations at the same time. By having a portfolio capability, I have been able to link dependencies and tasks across projects to better align to the reality of the implementation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of the add on functionality/integration with Clarizen is fairly clunky. Slide publisher isn't great, and you can overwhelm the system when you need to make multiple updates on a project. It also could be more intuitive/helpful when there are project conflicts. Adding in standard project management reports that have worked well for other clients would also be great. I also feel like we haven't learned much about additional functionality that Clarizen has added over the past few years. There likely is other functionality that would be beneficial for our organization to utilize which we just don't know about. We also struggled in an attempt to integrate with Jira. Clarizen's overall usability is great for basic project management; including creation, tracking and reporting. If you're looking for a tool that's easy to use and navigate as a project manager, then this is definitely a great choice. I've worked with other project management tools, and Clarizen's UI and basic features definitely trump others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It seems like Clarizen can do a LOT of things, but we either don't know what those things are because of lack of continued training and education through the years, or the things we do utilize (e.g. meeting management), require more development in order to be used to their full potential. Clarizen One is a great tool for reducing the administrative efforts of project managers and for allowing more time for customer interaction and bringing real value to the project. It is one dynamic IT solution for all project management related tasks such as schedule, risks, action tracker etc. throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Also, one of the big benefits is that Clarizen One is interfacing with existing back office systems such as SAP, Sales Force, Outlook etc., which means that the PM efforts are integrated into all functions of the company.
Through dashboards and reports, all internal stakeholders can have a clear 360° view of the status and health of each project.
If I don't have access to my laptop, I can easily work with the mobile version of Calrizen One on my mobile.
Overall, it is out of the box solution, but Clarizen One offers the services of tailoring the tools as per some specifics of the organisation, for example a specific PM standard that is being followed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Overall, Calrizen One is a great software and now after I use it daily, I don’t know how we managed to work with the old ways of working (eg. Excel). However, there is maybe one downside. As a PM, I work with Engineering, Finance and Supply Chin departments and sometimes I need them to contribute to the information in Clarizen One, however, since this is not the main tool for their departments, sometimes it is hard to make them log in and use the software to its full potential.
Also, when implementing Clarizen One in an organisation, a comprehensive work on shifting the culture towards digital should be completed. There might be some people who resist of letting go their old and well known ways of working, such as using Excel and Power Point. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Software is very customizable. Service is really good - quick and responsive. It stuns me sometimes how quickly the support team responds, even to lower priority requests for assistance. Our implementation consultant, Matt Gathercole, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable, flexible and easy to work with. Improvements to software occur regularly. Clarizen offers free webinars and support to continue learning how to best use the software. Support site is pretty good for providing assistance. Communication with customers is very good. There are some elements of the software that could be improved. For example, the customer portal needs greater functionality. Cases are not automatically associated with projects. Some tasks are tedious and take several steps. License types limit access to the project plan and direct access to reports. While you can share read only links to this information, it still seems like an unnecessary limitation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have been using Clarizen for almost 2 years for workflow automation and project management of my company. This software is enriched with features that you need for project management as well as portfolio management. Clarizen can take care of all your project management needs. Also, I liked the user experience which is very simple and the navigation is also very smooth. This software is paid, you get two options to choose from. I recommend using the unlimited plan as you will be getting unlimited storage with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Clarizen is a reliable tool but is quite expensive compared to other project management tools available in the market. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It helps you plan, organize for a project and delegate the tasks that has to be done. Additionally, it helps you organizing the timing and deadlines for the project, to see how has been the advanced or developing.
It notifies you through your email when you have been assigned to a task, this helps you to remind the task.
Clarizen connects different teams from the same organization and you are able to see in what they are working on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The app has many tools and most of them are not intuitive to use, unless you watch the training video.
Training video takes a long time to explain things, it can be explain faster and easily.
It could be a good idea that for every button or tool the app has, every time the mouse stands in it, can explain in a small paragraph how can this be used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Clarizen can do just about anything when it comes to project management. There are some limitations, but they are few and far between.
We have really enjoyed the Discussions feature. It's been very helpful for our Project Managers to be able to communicate to their teams within the tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The problem is that sometimes it's so flexible, so customizable, there can be a pretty serious learning curve. For example, we often run into issues with clients wanting automated reports, and we can't deliver exactly what they are looking for. We know the tool has the information, it just isn't terribly intuitive how to get it out. We didn't pay for support upgrades so there was a lot of trial and error.
In addition to that, the user interface is a little outdated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Incredibly configurable PPM toolset, with options to customise the way things work, and look to the end user. Very comprehensive set of reporting options directly within the tool. Simple, configurable user interface, and great integration to Powerpoint for external reporting/emailing status reporting etc. API integration is excellent. Layouts for different types of projects is completely configurable, so you can keep the current view of the user simple while allowing them to expand the "more info" to see the full data on the project when it is required. Sometimes the backlog on the support site is out of date, and feature requests aren't visible on a customer roadmap. I would like to see an upcoming roadmap, and items that have had "Feature Requests" stack ranked on a Product Backlog. It would be great to know what is coming not only in the next minor/major - but the next after that for planning purposes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Our organization has used several PSA solutions and had outgrown the last program we were using. We went a RFP process and reviewed about a dozen solutions. I invited my team of PM's to evaluate the solutions and there are a number of impressive solutions on the market today. The main reason we selected Clarizen is that the vote from the team was unanimous, everyone selected Clarizen as their number one choice. There was a tie for second and third choice which was split 50/50.
A big selling feature was the fact that we could add custom fields, workflows, business rules and custom reports. The solution we left only had limited custom fields and we required more. Resourcing is great and allows us to efficiently manage schedules and see availability of resources. The customer portal was a big benefit as collaboration with our customers was a key requirement.
We have been using the system for just over a year and continue to expand our usage of the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I was a bit disappointed with the utilization reports. We struggled placeholder resources skewing our teams numbers and the target utilization did not seem to work as we would have expected. Unfortunately this caused us to not leverage Clarizen for that information instead we dump data and import it into our BI tool. Another big disappointment was a feature called Actions, we had high hopes for using Actions however you could not tie Actions to a project and this was not clear during the sales process. Actions are useful and generic to do lists for individuals so we still use them but were unable to use them to track the lowest level of the WBS that you did not want to assign time to a task. Overall none of these are show stoppers. The solution is a bit pricey, the team member licenses are fairly limited, to grant more access you have to go to a full license. Broad configuration capabilities. It allows the software to be customized for different users or uses. This is very helpful in a large organization were different divisions may have their own structures that cant be easily standardized across the company. Using the slide publisher saves our teams time and standardizes what data is being delivered. Having the separate work type modules also helps in managing what is do and when and to what level of granularity. The project module is great for the high level, the milestone is great for what is currently in flight and/or is coming up, and the task is perfect for day to day task management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Once you start to get into more complex configuration, features documentation becomes less available. The esthetics of exported or email delivered Reports and Dashboards is lacking. There isn't a good way to give non-licensed users access to multiple projects or reports in a centralized way. You'll need to provide links to each individually. If integration structure with Jira is very restrictive so ensure ensure they are compatible making the investments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Seeing all of my projects in one place, the progress, owners and collabortation that this can drive whilst working in an international team.
The ability to share my plan with customers and control and limit what they can see in this view. Ability to export plan to MSP is good for traditional project managers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes things can get a little bit too detailed, however this is mainly due to our usage of the product rather than a product fault itself.
It can take a little bit of adapting from MSP if your used to working that way as its another system to learn.
The timelines are a little bit compressed when you have lots of activities. Perhaps the bars could be thicker as well? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The most I like that you can move all your project documentation and schedule into one place in the cloud.
Also, I love how easy it is to share your progress and reports via widgets.
Last but not least is really great support from the Clarizen team, during the implementation and post-implementation period. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Reporting functionality still requires a lot of development. Not everything works out of the box.
Also, Clarizing doesn't have a case item for the assumptions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Admin configuration module is pretty simple to understand, lots of flexibility in terms of building workflows ,reports Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
License cost is slightly higher if compared with other market leaders like Microsoft Project Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is a dynamic Industry-leading project management software that maximizes project outcomes with great team performance. Configuration of Clarizen is easy to fit your business need anytime and come up with a feature to be reconfigured anytime without costly customization. We can easily get a detailed insight into the organization’s portfolio using Dashboards. Our company has been using it for a long time that can easily available through seamless integrations with other task management systems. It enhances the engagement among teams with 360° real-time visibility to team performance and process repeatable processes through automation. It has been so easy for us now to manage Project Status and Budget management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes, it took time to make small changes to project plans which need to be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that it does EVERYTHING. It replaces time keeping, and Microsoft project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't like the name. Clarizen. It sounds like an STD or a drug for someone with an STD. I know it's hard to think of a name, but if you can't change it, you should add some more character or marketing to explain the name. It sounds so emotionless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
