## Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM) Reviews
  ### 1. Ease of use and better transparency

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Utilities | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM)?**

Being that I know our object environment very well and am very proficient in the PM process at our company this tool will allow me to see what our INFOSEC team sees so we can work from the same application and not try to decipher two applications for the same issue. I now have a tool that allows me to render issues as qualified or to associate them to our normal patch process. Since I now see our patch process and their vulnerability discovery I can assess issues much quicker and with better clarity.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM)?**

So far I have no issues as the Kenna application is quite informative. As I use it more I may request certain views that I cannot create myself.

**What problems is Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can see the KB's listed and our environment in AD and get more info on why certain patches and CVE's are listed. I have the access to script out the removal of files from apps and not uninstall or patch other apps or OS's

A clutter free minimal dashboard which shows a brief information on your assets, vulnerabilities and also possible fixes for vulnerabilities. Moreover, the dashboard shows quick visible links to filter based on easily exploitable vulnerabilities, popular malwares etc. Such filters are easy to use for a novice user as well as a person with limited tech knowledge. To add, there are custom query filters to search assets based on tags as well as check boxes to filter the vulnerabilities based on status for e.g. open, closed, ports, classification etc.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM)?**

Search, asset filteration, tool tips can really help understand new users who have no prior background of vulnerability identification & removal. ### 10. Provides visibility but suffers from defects

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM)?**

Cisco Vulnerability Management (CVM) does allow a subscriber to segment security issues by either device type or vulnerability making it easier to see what a the significant risks are that require remediation. The risk meter paradigm allows administators the ability to provide other IT groups a simple way to track and address their specific risks.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM)?**

The CVM platform has issues with holding settings when marking specfic vulnerabilites as either false positive or risk accepted. The latter somes disappear and need to be re-entered. Also my experience has been that CVM has issues correlating assets being imported causing duplication of assets and wide swings in overall asset counts. Finally, helpful support for the product is almost non-existent. If you can't find the answer in the knowledge base and try opening a ticket it takes days sometimes weeks for a response and then its only to send a link.

**What problems is Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

TRacking security vulnerablites from identification to remediation. Provides some information regarding remediation solutions. Allows IT groups to track progess of necessary remediations.

I would utilize more Documentation collaboration, allowing for additional notes that would allow you to tag people already within the system to alert them of updates and changes. In addition to the notification system

**What problems is Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Patches, risk management

  ### 12. Cisco Vulnerability Management is Invaluable in Detecting Vulnerabilities

**What do you like best about Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM)?**

Cisco Vulnerability Management displays all current vulnerabilities in a nice layout, allowing you to display servers based on various criteria. It helps me to keep my servers up-to-date and ensure that they are safe. Links are provided to either fix a vulnerability or provide a workaround for it.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM)?**

As a user, there is no way to quickly check if a vulnerability still exists after providing a fix/workaround. I need to wait for the next automatic scan or request a rescan through our IT department.

**What problems is Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me to keep my servers up-to-date with the latest patches and hot fixes.

The navigation from VM to vernability is a problem.
Organisation should have an option to highlight the issues that are fixed in the regular patch and issues for which patches are not yet available.
Shoud have a custom feature tolet all users build their own dashboards based on raw data in the tool.

**What problems is Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Log4j
Os level patches
application vernabilities

  ### 14. Pros and Cons of Kenna

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM)?**

Pros of Kenna is that it is extremely easy to learn and has a clean interface that can be utilized at all levels. Whether your are the remediation team or the CEO, Kenna can provide data in a straight to the point fashion making it very appealing to organizations.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM)?**

I think the biggest dislike about Kenna is they haven't seemed to update many features to stay up to date with competition features, even though it can still be accomplished with Kenna, it may require additional tools for an organization to purchase.

This can be treated as a pro as well though, because Kenna knows what they do well and stay in their lane rather than spreading themselves too thin. Regardless the power of Kenna should not be underestimated for its users, as it has a lot of value.

**What problems is Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem Kenna solves for me is by providing a single pane of glass to view all data in one place, plus it provides an opportunity to automate the vulnerability prioritization process.

  ### 15. Cisco VM, a centralized view of your organization's risk

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM)?**

The most helpful feature of Cisco Vulnerability Management, in my opinion, is that it offers a complete view of all your asset. In one page, you can have a clear view of which is the most critical asset and in a few clicks you can learn how to recover it.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM)?**

The downside of Cisco Vulnerability Management is the custom query string feature and the filtering option. The former is not "user-friendly" and you have to read the guide to form a complex sentence (auto-completion or hints would be a killing feature while you are typing wildcards); the latter has an issue when the group of assets changes, indeed the filters are not updated.

**What problems is Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The primary issue that Cisco Vulenerability Management is solving is the lack of having a tool capable of centralize the information about vulnerabilities coming from different sources

  ### 16. All in one place

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

Data visualisation - colors / numbers allows to pinpoint right away what needs to be done.
Integration is very easy in any kind of environment plus it easily scalable.
The tool have a lot of different features and is able to give high details on each aspect of found vulnerabilities which is very comforting.
Used on a daily basis, CVM help to reduce the impact surface while applying the approriate effort on the right spots.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM)?**

When dealing with a huge number of assets, use of filters and a good understanding of the interface are needed to extract the data you are looking for.

**What problems is Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Showing right away the area that need work on.
Prioritize remediation actions without wasting efforts.

  ### 17. Kenna - Vulnerability Prioritization

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM)?**

Cisco Kenna Risk Score considers real-time factors and events occurring in the wild for each vulnerability. This score offers an approximation of the chances of exploitation, resulting in a ranked list that indicates the likelihood of a specific attack vector being used for exploitation.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM)?**

Price: Licensing costs for Cisco Vulnerability Management is relatively high, which may not be suitable for organizations with budget constraints. Incase if you are targeting EMEIA region.
Reporting Customization: While the platform offers robust reporting capabilities, some clients have found that customizing reports to meet specific organizational needs can be challenging. As you cannot add pie/custom graph/additional feild in their dashboard.

**What problems is Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps organizations prioritize vulnerabilities based on factors like severity, asset value, and potential impact. This allows IT teams to focus on addressing the most critical vulnerabilities first.
API Integration, Vulnerability Scanning Connector, Zero Day Vulnerability Intelligence, Remediation Analytics and Scoring are some of the key feature available in Cisco VM

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM)?**

Kenna allows you to aggregate data from multiple sources to improve security risk management. I also like the SLAs associated with the infrastructure or group of assets to enhance the organization's remediation policy

**What do you dislike about Cisco Vulnerability Management (formerly Kenna.VM)?**

I don't particularly appreciate that Kenna's whole point and data sources entirely depend on the vulnerability scanners and tools connected, making it more of a data aggregator than a vulnerability management tool.

Any organization uses various tools to scan its infrastructure, even within the same projects. Having the possibility to aggregate the vulnerability data from all solutions is a fundamental enabler of companies' security analysis.
