## Cisco Duo Reviews
  ### 1. Effortless Security with Multi-Factor Authentication

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

I like how easy Cisco Duo is to use and deploy. The push-based authentication is quick and user-friendly, allowing users to approve access with just one tap, which reduces login delays. The deployment integrates easily with existing systems, saving setup time and effort. We value Duo Push the most because it provides fast, secure authentication with minimal user effort, and its easy integration for VPN and application access. The initial setup was very easy, supported by clear documentation and quick integration into our existing environment. I would rate it a 9 out of 10 because it is very easy to use and secure.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

Reporting and troubleshooting could be improved, as deeper visibility into authentication issues would make administration easier.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Cisco Duo for secure multi-factor authentication to protect logins and VPN access, preventing unauthorized access. It's easy to deploy and user-friendly with push-based authentication, reducing login delays and integrating well with existing systems. I value Duo Push for its fast, secure authentication.

  ### 2. Reliable Security and Easy Deployment, with Room for Enhancement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harpreet S. | DevOps Engineer, Computer Networking, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

Cisco Duo distinguishes itself with its straightforward and dependable multi-factor authentication, robust security features, and user-friendly experience. It also offers device trust verification and enables rapid deployment for both cloud and on-premise applications.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

Cisco Duo has several drawbacks, such as its relatively high cost for smaller teams, which can be a barrier for some organizations. Users may also experience fatigue from frequent push notifications, and the process of setting up policies can be quite complex. Additionally, the reliance on mobile devices for multi-factor authentication can be inconvenient, and there are times when support responses are delayed or inconsistent.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cisco Duo addresses the issue of weak, password-only security by introducing robust multi-factor authentication and device trust verification. This solution helps defend against phishing attempts, credential theft, and unauthorized access. As a result, it enhances our overall security posture, lowers the risk of account compromise, and allows us to securely access both cloud-based and on-premises systems.

  ### 3. Seamless Security with Minor Setup Hiccups

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James R.

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

I like how Cisco Duo balances security and convenience. Features like push notifications for quick approval and seamless multi-factor authentication make protecting accounts easy without disrupting daily work. I use Cisco Duo to add an extra layer of security to logins by verifying user identities through multi-factor authentication. It helps prevent unauthorized access while keeping the sign-in process quick and easy for users. Cisco Duo solves the challenge of securing accounts across multiple devices and platforms. It stops unauthorized access in its tracks while making authentication simple and reliable for legitimate users.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

Occasionally, push notifications can be delayed, and setting up multiple devices could be more intuitive for new users.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Cisco Duo to add an extra layer of security, preventing unauthorized access with multi-factor authentication. It secures accounts across devices and platforms while maintaining a simple, reliable sign-in process.

  ### 4. Enterprise-Grade Security Made Simple

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dom P. | Director of Communications and Marketing, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

Multiple authentication options (push, biometrics, passcodes).
Strong integration with enterprise tools and apps.
Device health checks for added security.
Centralized admin controls for policy enforcement.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

Slightly more complex initial setup.
Push notifications require internet access.
Can feel overkill for small teams or personal use

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duo Mobile helped me solve the challenge of securing user accounts across multiple platforms without adding unnecessary complexity. My previous system lacked centralized management and device health checks, which left gaps in our security posture. With Duo, I can enforce consistent multi-factor authentication policies, verify device compliance, and reduce the risk of unauthorized access—all while making the login process simple for end users.

  ### 5. Effortless Security with Robust Multi-Factor Authentication

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sairaja S. | Junior engineer for BISSELL, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

What I like best about Cisco Duo is its strong, easy-to-use multi-factor authentication combined with zero-trust access and device health checks, which improve security without creating friction for users or administrators.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

What I dislike about Cisco Duo is that it can be expensive and complex to configure, and it relies heavily on mobile devices, which can be inconvenient for some users.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cisco Duo solves risks tied to weak or stolen passwords, unauthorized access, and unmanaged devices by enforcing multi-factor authentication and device security checks before granting access. This benefits you by reducing account compromise, improving overall security posture, and ensuring only compliant users and devices can reach your systems.

  ### 6. Flexible MFA and Zero Trust, but pricing and legacy complexity can be tough

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

It offers strong, flexible MFA options, including push notifications, biometrics, and tokens. Deployment is straightforward, and the experience is intuitive for end users. It also supports Zero Trust principles by verifying every user and device before granting access. On top of that, it integrates well with cloud services and VPNs.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

It can be costly for smaller organizations, especially when budgets are tight. Some of the more advanced features may also require higher licensing tiers, which can limit access unless you upgrade. In addition, it can add extra complexity in environments that rely on legacy systems, making setup and ongoing management more challenging.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cisco Duo is a solid, user-friendly security solution centered on multi-factor authentication (MFA) and Zero Trust access controls. It strengthens login security, helps reduce the risk of compromised passwords, and fits well with today’s hybrid work environments.

  ### 7. Broad Multi-Factor and SSO

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benjamin K. | Manager of Systems Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2025

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

Cisco Duo provides a secure app and Multi-Factor process for signing into workstations and applications. You can tie it into 365 with a Federated Domain and use SSO validated against an on-prem Active Directory server or if you have P1 Licensing against 365 its self. So Duo can be used for many purposes for Single Sign On helping you meet Insurance Companies and Compliance standards. You can also program Yubi Keys and hand those out to your users, this process is easy and pain free.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

Duos learning curve can be steep when you are setting up more advanced tasks such as SSO against on-prem. Ensure you read and re-read the documentation as you setup the services and that you fully understand the process. Keep in mind if you use an AD server that server must be on for users to sign into 365. If not then it will not let them validate.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duo provides a way to meet compliance for Multi-Factor on endpoint sign in. It also provides a means to add SSO to 365 under Duo so the end users are all tied to the same account. Rather then them having a rolling code from Microsoft in MS Authentication or in Duo app. They can use the Duo Push method or tie it all into a Yubikey. So although the setup is a lot of work in the end it makes it easier on the end user. We deploy Duo to all our Fully Managed clients and have over 2000 endpoints utilizing the service so are pretty competent in its abilities.

  ### 8. Cisco Duo: Strong, Reliable MFA with Easy Setup and Great Access Visibility

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mukesh N. | IT support, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

Cisco Duo is its strong and reliable mulit-factor authentication with an easy setup user friendly interface and excellent visibility into access activity which significantly improves overall security without adding complexity.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

I dislike that cisco duo can have occasional connectivity issues and adds extra setup complexity for multi-factor authentication.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cisco Duo solves security and authentication problems by providing multi-factor authentication and verifying devices trust which benefits me by protecting accounts from unauthorized access and reducing the risk of security breaches.

  ### 9. Clunky Interface Hampers MFA Experience

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juli A. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

the color scheme

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

I don't enjoy using Cisco Duo because it's clunky. The UI/UX is clunky, and I find MFA to be an obstacle sometimes. My phone is already verified, so I feel it would be easier if I could just enter my phone's passcode and let the app handle the rest, instead of having to type a code from my phone onto my PC.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Cisco Duo for multi-factor authentication to help make it more secure.

  ### 10. Simple and secure on its own. Confusing/frustrating if used with other authentication softwares.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Casey W. | Specialist, Professional Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

The app itself is easy to use, whether authenticating w/ online or offline codes. It's easy to add/remove devices and profiles.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

I've found that when using it w/ other authentication apps (Microsoft Authenticator, Keeper, etc.), there's a tendency to get stuck in an "authentication loop," and therefore using Duo can get confusing.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has added a layer of security at work that otherwise was not present.

  ### 11. Effortless and secure multi-factor authentication with Cisco Duo

  ### 13. One click for your software protection

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Priyanka S. | Telecommunications, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

Duo Security is one of the best MFA and security solution applications. It is effortless to use and its flexibility is awesome. We have been using this for a long time and it's a part of our day-to-day life. The level of support this app provide is valuable.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

This app has multiple feature which anybody can like but for the user who are using it as a first timer will be challenging.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DUO make it easy to log-on with zero trust security. Its desktop security and VPN security is awesome. It is easily to install. I like its integration with mobile and smart watches.

  ### 14. Integrate DUO with Apple MacOS for better 2fac authentication

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sriraj N. | Technical Account Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

DUO security is versatile. You can choose between 1) PUSH Pop up on your device 2) Enter codes from your DUO app. Also, DUO has the ability to save your accounts to the cloud, so when you change your device, you get all your account back when you login with the same Apple ID. Awesome right!!

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

Do the latest security features of the macOS, 3rd Party apps like DUO may not be able to successfully get the latest OS info, hence it will be blocked by design. To overcome this, DUO has a separate plugin that you have to install which passes the OS related info to the DUO login prompt. This thing can get a bit techny for the amateurs.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DUO protects all our applications. It is our go-to 2fac software. It adds the required 2 layers of authentication to our mission-critical software suites. we are very happy with the software
