Our team made a large purchase of Cisco Cat9K hardware and received three DNA appliances with the purchase. We wanted a network automation platform, or perhaps, I should say, "configuration management." The best thing about the DNA Center are:

- Very well integrated with Cat 9K products.

- They function 100%, with no issues with operation.

Although DNA center is a great product but has the following drawbacks:

- Some devices just go unreachable, sometimes

- It is tough to understand the functionality

- Firmware upgrade is off-limits until a synchronization bring them back

Assurance. Hands down! The visibility you gain into your network across both wired and wireless is just unparalleled. The time saved on provisioning and maintaining devices is also unmatched in the industry. It's so different from what people are used to so people who are used to legacy networking can easily feel that they are on loose terrain. The difference is a GOOD thing, but it can be hard to re-educate people into thinking about networking in a new way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Assurance - ensuring that the configuration standards and policies are properly applied across the network fabric. And it also checks for overlapping policies that conflict. For troubleshooting, you can create a custom health check when a customer/application has an issue and instantly see if the path has misconfigured rules/policies or a link with high errors, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Change - nobody likes change. The CLI has become so crowded and complicated that you need to use the GUI. This is easier than when you first think about it, but it is still a drastic change to how we normally performed our jobs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Provide deployment and automation options not provided in its predecessors like PI, for example. The ability to integrate with the Cisco portfolio is a plus, but the most attractive thing seems to be the licensing scheme used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It tends to be an improved copy of what already exists, it failed to clearly differentiate why one should choose a DNA instead of a PI. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Consolidate view of the network and new abilities to see network issues which were not previously visible with prior tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Not all devices are supported in DNA-Center.

We had a DNA-Center loan for about 90 days and experience that 95% of our devices are not supported.

DNA-Center actually gave us more work, and no benefits with our current device setup.
