Overwhelming Setup, Needs Better Usability **Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Bethany G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2026 **What do you like best about Cin7 Core?** I wanted something cloud-based with Cin7 Core, which helped reduce the number of extra servers and software we were using before. **What do you dislike about Cin7 Core?** I'm having a really hard time with inventory syncing issues on Cin7 Core. The settings can be overwhelming without better, up-to-date instructions on help.core.cin7.com or right on the settings page. The names are confusing sometimes too. It's frustrating that to do anything, I have to click through so many things just to get a simple view or piece of information. The 'customizable' Dashboard is underwhelming because it doesn't show basic charts or information like total orders by channel or total sales. Also, I can't sort products by category or export them, which means exporting the whole inventory every time, and that's just insane with almost 30,000 SKUs. Plus, the initial setup was tough. The group training wasn't helpful because everyone was at different stages, and we couldn't keep up because setup took longer than expected. We're still not fully up and running even after starting in April. **What problems is Cin7 Core solving and how is that benefiting you?** n/a ### 2. Sales team did a great job highlighting what we could use once set-up and look forward to do as such. **What do you dislike about Cin7 Core?** You could tell that the required onboarding was only provided as a revenue model to replace the "free month." The sessions were fine, but were not necessary. The communication for specific quetions, however, was lacking. By the time there was a response to specific questions, we had troubleshooted and resolved on our own. It was apparent that AI was used to respond to questions as there were times the copy and paste included CSR prompts. **What problems is Cin7 Core solving and how is that benefiting you?** To be determined. The team uses it on a daily basis. **What do you dislike about Cin7 Core?** - Shopify Integration can be better - The tech team deploys new features without rigorous QA testing and ends up messing your whole setup, and all the damages are non reversible. And if it happens to be reversible, be ready to book your human resources for days and days trying to manually fixing what the developers have damaged,. - When you provide valid use-cases of system bugs or invalid behavior, the support team will often reply to you with: "This is how the system was designed" - It's not the most user-friendly in terms of UX, it can be much better. - Be ready for an expected price increase and its a take it or leave it increase. **What problems is Cin7 Core solving and how is that benefiting you?** Its good when it comes to inventory control, order management and warehouse management, Reporting, and POs ### 4. It was an issue with the Chrome Browser but after a dozen emails and screen recordings it was remedied. They employees were great to work with as they were asking questions I was not familiar with and walked me through some "setup" type things. ### 6. Everything serves a purpose, and it does quite a fair share for the price. The UI is generally pretty intuitive. **What do you dislike about Cin7 Core?** The ramp up takes a LONG time, and while the support team is knowledgeable about the platform, I think there needs to be a little more direct involvement in them learning the user business model before taking things live. **What problems is Cin7 Core solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have better visibility of our inventory an it makes for a solid core to project out into all of our other online platforms that need a source of truth regarding our inventory. ### 9. Visually flowed. Lots of advanced features, which would be useful for internal communciation. **What do you dislike about Cin7 Core?** 1. Chat support is relative fast for opposite time zones. 2. Chat support is helpful, until your questions get complicated. 3. Chat support ignores you when you try to discuss workarounds. **What problems is Cin7 Core solving and how is that benefiting you?** Workarounds are my way of trying to make limitations work. They clearly knew what I was trying to accomplish, but after days, I finally get a response to create the product on OrderHive, but finish the listing on Shopify. Tags or descriptions will never get pushed out to shopify. ### 13. Automatic stock Integration with shopify is extremely handy. Full tractability with stock means you know exactly where everything has gone. Link to Stripe & Paypal means customers can pay for their invoices without needing to phone the company. Payments can be taken via an online portal. Advanced purchases, sales means you can have multiple fulfilments (if you need to part ship). **What do you dislike about Cin7 Core?** The program can be very clunky to use sometimes. With certain features not thought out well enough to be fully usable. Support does also not really seem to be interested in listening to/ fixing broken features. The production module is next to useless. You can only create a new production per product variant. Meaning for one order you could have 100's of production orders on. Trying to keep track of these is a nightmare. We opted to use the purchasing module as a makeshift alternative. The most annoying aspect is that at times you have to undo orders if you need to make a change. Resulting in you having to re authorise any potential pick/ pack lists, invoice, shipping etc. It can take an hour to change something as simple as a price. **Recommendations to others considering Cin7 Core:** Utilise the free trial as much as possible. Don't commit unless you have thoroughly tested all features. **What problems is Cin7 Core solving and how is that benefiting you?** Integration with shopify is very useful. When you sell something on shopify it automatically takes stock out of your master stock list. Essential if you sell in multiple platforms, and require stock to be very accurate. We have multiple warehouses. Tracking the inventory all in one place means we don't need two systems. ### 14.
