"Effortless Asset Management with Cheqroom, Though More Customization Would Be Nice"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Cheqroom?

My organization utilizes Cheqroom across three individual Brands. We each have our own individualized workspace and I find it quite easy to modify and build categories, kits and item lists as well as add and manage users and their permissions. Cheqroom has helped us keep track of over 400 brand assets and has given us a bit more relief and reassurance that items are where we specify when, and with the status that we assign. I hope to continue using Cheqroom for a long time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cheqroom?

I don't think there are any downsides about Cheqroom other than that there are times I wish the ability to customize and refine items and kits was more granular. For example, when we go to check out an item that typically exists as part of a kit, when we see the overall Reservation or Check-Out, the full kit shows until you expose the drop-down to reveal the exact piece that's going out. We also wish there was a deeper layer of "components" as some items have removeable components that may get checked out outside of their chassis or home "item." However, we work with what we have and we appreciate it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Mafe Benitez of Cheqroom

Appreciate this, Jen. Great to hear day‑to‑day is easier across your brands with Cheqroom. We’re exploring how to bring more granularity and customization for items and kits. We look forward to continue bringing you more enhancements (and reassurance) over the coming year. Thanks for being part of the Cheqroom community!

"Efficient Asset Management with Room for Improvement"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Cheqroom?

I have found CHEQROOM incredibly efficient for keeping track of our film production equipment, which includes items such as cameras and cords. The application provides clarity on what equipment the company owns versus what is in use, streamlining our inventory management. I particularly appreciate the functionality of creating kits from multiple items and the ability to flag them under different subcategories, which suits our diverse equipment needs. The interface for setting up what has been pre-established was very straightforward, which facilitated my workflow significantly. Overall, I find CHEQROOM to be a beneficial tool that is necessary for our itemization process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cheqroom?

I would like to see an enhanced feature that allows me to view comprehensive details, such as the flag status, associated kit, and the current location of the item, possibly by hovering over the item or viewing an image. This would help streamline our workflow by providing more complete information at a glance and reducing the time needed to track down these details manually. "Efficient Equipment Tracking, But Needs Better Support"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Cheqroom?

I love how CHEQROOM effectively solves the problem of ensuring that our crews always have the proper gear when they go out for shoots, which improves our overall operational efficiency. We can book gear in advance and determine whether we need to rent or purchase additional equipment, which is crucial for our small shop that operates with up to three to four crews at a time. The feature allowing us to see what gear is available on certain dates is incredibly helpful. Additionally, being able to flag equipment needing maintenance or repair enhances our gear management. Keeping track of how much we use our gear helps us make informed decisions regarding renting or purchasing additional equipment to meet our needs, which is invaluable. The integration with Google Calendar is beneficial as it syncs seamlessly with our scheduling. I find these capabilities particularly useful for staying organized and efficient, and they prevent conflicts over gear usage, which would make me consider purchasing CHEQROOM again for these very reasons. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cheqroom?

I find the setup process for CHEQROOM to be very difficult and time-consuming, especially with having to input and tag over 300 different pieces of equipment, which is a major roadblock. Additionally, the help section on the website could be improved as I found it lacking in detailed explanations for certain things I was looking for. Furthermore, I've experienced issues with customer support, as some of my emails were ignored, and I did not receive answers to my queries during business hours either via email or the chatbot feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Mafe Benitez of Cheqroom

David, thank you for the detailed feedback. Love that availability planning, maintenance flags, and Calendar sync are helping your crews. We’re sorry setup felt heavy and that support missed the mark — that’s not the experience we aim for. We’re refining our help center to cover common workflows and provide step‑by‑step guidance to make everything from setup to success much simpler. Appreciate you being a part of the Cheqroom community!

"Streamlined Equipment Tracking and Easy Student Access, but Some Frustrations"
4/5
What do you like best about Cheqroom?

I like that end users (in our case, students) are given the ability to view and reserve equipment on their own. Using the software as an inventory system alongside a checkout system has been helpful for tracking equipment upkeep across different academic departments. The interface itself is easily taught to new student workers and is fairly intuitive to navigate with basic training. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cheqroom?

The necessity of entering a command multiple times per transaction (for example, going to an open reservation, clicking "go to check out" which converts it to a checkout in Draft state, then clicking "check out" to finalize the checkout leaves room for checkouts not being finalized, as they remain as drafts, or reservations being "undone" if converted incorrectly. This is mitigated with more thorough training, but with such abstract avenues and so many different ways to complete the same tasks it is sometimes difficult to help employees lock in to good habits.

The user groups and user role assignments often conflict with one another, forcing us to either allow customers to view equipment they don't have access to or limit viewership and risk customers not being able to view equipment they do have access to. To that end, only being able to assign equipment groups (and subsequently user groups) by category and not location is extremely frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Mafe Benitez of Cheqroom

Thanks for the detailed review. Great to hear student self‑serve process and equipment tracking are working well for your team and students.

Great news on the checkout draft workflow - there’s a setting under checkouts that allows you to bypass drafts entirely, which you can enable in your account today. This should help streamline the process and reduce confusion for your team.

Regarding user access and equipment group assignments, we have an enhancement coming later this year that will address these concerns. We're excited to share it with you and get your feedback once it's released.

In the meantime, if you'd like help optimizing your current setup or want to hear about our latest features, please reach out to your customer experience manager - we'd be happy to connect. Thank you for being part of the Cheqroom community!

"Comprehensive Management with Excellent Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Cheqroom?

I have been using Cheqroom for nearly a decade to support student creativity. Cheqroom helps us provide easy access to equipment check-out and reservation, which is invaluable. Compared to other vendors, Cheqroom was the best option out of the box. They have amazing customer support! Setting up the system was a breeze. With easy categorization, fill-in fields for equipment, the ability to add items, even in multiples, and training and setup tips to assist users it couldn't have been easier. It's fantastic that there’s no need for a paper trail anymore; students can easily see what equipment is available, and work-study students can pull equipment tagged with barcodes associated with reservations. The management side is just as effortless, as I can see what we have, when it was purchased, and make plans for replacements, or check out the usage of items. The dashboard overview gives a quick look at upcoming check-outs, open checkouts, and anything overdue, making tasks simple and easy to manage. Additionally, the flagging feature helps in quickly addressing equipment repairs, ensuring nothing lags in our schedules. Overall, it's a one-stop shop for our equipment management needs, handling multiple locations, user management, and all inventory aspects effectively. I am extremely satisfied with its capabilities and would recommend it without hesitation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cheqroom?

I find the tiers of access frustrating because you discover a cool feature only to realize you have to pay more to use it. Academic features like user groups are limited to certain pricing levels, which means that I cannot easily customize access for different user groups such as photography or film users without upgrading to a higher tier. It is pricey - but worth it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Mafe Benitez of Cheqroom

Jenny, thank you for nearly a decade of trust! We're thrilled the dashboard, configurable reservation process, and customer support are delivering for your students and team. On pricing tiers and academic needs, we hear you. We're always looking to bring more capabilities to our academic partners, to truly make your one-stop shop for equipment management even more effortless and power even more student creativity. Stay tuned for more innovation in the coming months. Thanks for being part of the Cheqroom community!

"Easy Setup and Clean UI, AV First but Useable for Other Assets"
5/5
What do you like best about Cheqroom?

Cheqroom is easy to use and set up. There are plenty of custom field options so you can capture all of your equipment data or further be able to filter specific sets of data for items or kits. Very clean UI, as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cheqroom?

It is built first for AV equipment, whereas I am using it for IT asset tracking. So I have had to be creative with how I name things, using "Kits" as "offices" and issuing Cutsody. Custom Fields came in handy but it took more work to get everything setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Mafe Benitez of Cheqroom

Thanks, Joe! Awesome that setup was easy and custom fields fit your data. We have been evolving the platform to work beyond AV, so would love to hear more about your use case and workflows as we continue innovating. Look forward to bringing even more enhancements to you in the coming year and appreciate you being part of our community!

"Great for Equipment Access, But Restrictions Can Be Tricky"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Cheqroom?

Helps students get access to equipment, and staff to track who has what and when. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cheqroom?

Sometimes the use of restrictions can be helpful, but sometimes they can be convoluted and tricky, creating more barriers than access. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Mafe Benitez of Cheqroom

Thanks for the feedback, Daniel. Great to hear that access and equipment tracking is working well for your university. We're always working to simplify the experience, and we actually have some exciting new restriction/permission functionality in active development right now. In the meantime, if you have specific examples you'd like to share, send them to your account team and we'll make sure they get to the product team as we continue to fine-tune. Really appreciate you being part of the Cheqroom community!
