It automatically alerts you if you're creating a structure that is chemically impossible (i.e. a carbon with 5 bonds or a hydrogen with 2 bonds). **What do you dislike about Signals ChemDraw?** Sometimes it's difficult to get bonds at the angles you want. I often will click on an atom to create a new bond, then keep clicking until I get a bond at an angle that suits the structure I'm drawing. I'll then go back and delete the bonds I don't need. I find it difficult to create the bond angles I want if I don't use this method. **Recommendations to others considering Signals ChemDraw:** ChemDraw's learning curve can be a bit steep, however there are many tutorials on YouTube, and a quick Google search can solve most of your problems. Makes me want to break my computer every time I use it. Nothing is easy nothing comes out neat. everything is confusing been using it for a year and the design is utterly awful. The time it takes to draw a simple mechanism is completely pitiful. I thought that as I used it more it would become more straight forward but this is simply not the case. The product has so many basic things that it makes so much harder than they need to be such as drawing a simple arrow to show push/pull mechanisms. I have used many other similar products and this is by far the worst. One of the worst products that I have ever used. Also It cleans up the structure to the most stable conformation, enables us to do lot of analysis and predictions, including NMR predictions, molecular weight and formula calculations and obtain the compound's IUPAC name. It has many other interesting features which I don't use in my work, but I know will be extremely helpful when I develop my career **What do you dislike about Signals ChemDraw?** I really do not have any complaints about the software as It has accurately identified what kind of an assistance a scientist, at least a graduate student needs in his or her research. **Recommendations to others considering Signals ChemDraw:** I really recommend using ChemDraw as it has convenient features than other competitive softwares. It has more options and more advantages with regard to user friendliness, providing more templates in drawing chemical structures, and having more features that help in compound characterization. **What problems is Signals ChemDraw solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps me doing accurate NMR peak assignment. When I produce new compounds first I have a look at its predicted NMRS to identify and characterize my compounds properly. Those predictions are commendably accurate. Then It helps me to play with the molecular structures in lots of ways and have some insights into the steric interactions and most stable conformations of the compounds. It is really helpful for me as I don't do any computational calculations. The other biggest benefit is being able to obtain the molecular formulas and molecular weights, along with other mass related parameters in less than a second. I can't even imagine getting that information manually of my giant macro-molecular compounds! ( please consider that I have uploaded a screenshot of an old version which I use in my laptop, but we have newer, better version installed in the office) ### 24. I have used this multiple times for presentations and have seen good results, where my figures have helped the people I was presenting to to better understand my process. The figures look clean and polished and are scientifically accurate. **What do you dislike about Signals ChemDraw?** The process for creating the figures is confusing and takes a lot of trial and error. The software seems to operate under certain parameters that are different to overrule and often make bond angles / other features of reaction mechanisms different than they should be, with no obvious way to change this.
