The ease of accessing our information online. It was at first difficult to find our files on the website, but we've gotten the hang of it over time. I'm not sure how this compares to competitors. I wish there was one or two designated people helping us when we have questions. It seems that every time we have a question or need help, a different person helps us. Sometimes the person helping us is really great and super responsive. Other times the person helping us doesn't seem to be very familiar with their job. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. We don't have time or the expertise to do our own payroll or hire a person that could do it for us, so in this way, Checkwriters is really helpful. Owner Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) 1/24/2023 "Highly Recommended" 5/5 What do you like best about Checkwriters? They handle everything I need handled. They answer questions quickly, even if I've asked it multiple times. They get the payroll right. They send notifications that your payroll is done. They send notifications if there was an "oops" on their end, which is pretty rare, before you discover it. They provide all the w-2's needed at the end of the year about 2 weeks before the due date. If your account person is not available, someone else is covering. They send in the payroll taxes to the state & irs. It's all pretty painless. As I understand it, they are much less expensive than their competition. I knew a sales guy for one of the other payroll companies, and he said in 4 years, he was never able to convert a Checkwriter's client to his national/regional payroll service. That's how much their customers love them! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Checkwriters? The interface is a bit odd. There are multiple times one clicks "submit", when it seems only one should be necessary. They also sequence things using the tabs at the top of the section rather than a "next" button down at the bottom. I have gotten used to this, but it seems a bit odd and more complicated than necessary. This could be because I have only 2 people, and these things are needed for more complicated companies with more complex payroll situations. It would be nice if there were an interface more streamlined for the small office. These are picky little things, but after 2 years, I still find them a bit jarring. Maybe I'm getting old! I don't have to calculate any payroll taxes or submit any of the payments to the IRS or state. I can see all the data from the downloads. There has never been an instance where they got it wrong. Early in my payroll experience, they helped me correct a missed payment to the IRS, even tho they hadn't been responsible for the error. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Whenever we have questions, which can be quite often, the kindest and brightest staff help us to figure things out, from running reports to setting up new functions or paycodes, the staff are knowledgeable and helpful.
