This is our primary use for Checkr. Checkr is integrated into our system and allows us to initiate backgrounds quickly. Checkr documents as information is received and alerts us via email as well. Anytime I have ever had an issue, I have been able to get it resolved quickly with the wonderful customer support team. The dashboard allows you quick and easy access. Love working with Checkr! **What do you dislike about Checkr?** This is not Checkr's fault but some backgrounds take longer due to the location and manual pulls for backgrounds. I wish everyone would get onboard with digital systems to stop delays. **What problems is Checkr solving and how is that benefiting you?** Checkr helps us fill our job orders quickly. Most job orders need employees quickly and Checkr is quick and easy. I truly appreciate the email alerts because we have so many employees in process all the times. I have sent numerous emails regarding a couple of things I needed help with, and if I get a response at all, it's clear they didn't read my question or they flat out don't care to help. Dealing with them is incredibly frustrating and a huge waste of time. They do not have a phone number, and the only way to reach them is via email. This is a service that WE are paying for, and it's obvious they are only concerned with making a sale and promising the world only to ignore customers once they sign up. **Recommendations to others considering Checkr:** Get a phone for customers. If anything, they are creating a problem due to the amount of time I spend trying to reach them along with the incredible frustration I have in dealing with them. The platform's intuitive design and well-organized sections allowed both the admins and employees to swiftly enter and access the information needed. Checkr's screening process itself is also relatively quick. **What do you dislike about Checkr?** Please note that all of the 5-star reviewers for Checkr are tagged as being "Incentivized." Please also note that the majority of the 0-3 star reviews were not incentivized by Checkr. Their competitive pricing played a significant role in our decision to engage with Checkr to begin with. Initially, Checkr provided us with a quote that seemed reasonable for the standard 10-panel drug test we requested. We proceeded with the setup, believing we had found a cost-effective solution. However, our optimism quickly turned to dismay when we reviewed our billing statements and discovered that Checkr was charging us double the amount we were initially quoted for the drug test. Upon bringing this discrepancy to the attention of their billing team, we received a copy of our Master Services Agreement (MSA) where, to our dismay, we found a completely different drug test than we discussed listed on the MSA (also a 10-panel but for different substances). They stated that the one we had been ordering (the one we actually requested and were set up to order) was $25 more than the one listed in our MSA. Aside from the fact that they are unable to tell me why they would put one drug test on our MSA and then set up our account with a completely different one, it's also important to note that both of these 10-panel tests cost the same at two of the largest testing companies in the U.S. (Labcorp and Quest Diagnostics). It became evident that this alternative drug test, which we had neither requested nor discussed, was used by Checkr to justify the inflated billing rate. This reliance on a typographical error in their own documentation was both disingenuous and unacceptable. Despite clearly stating that our account was set up to run the test we had originally requested, Checkr refused to acknowledge their mistake and refund the overbilled amount. To make matters worse, during the renewal process, they attempted to double the cost of the test. It was only when I pointed out that their MSA explicitly stated no pricing increase for a full year after the initial term that they reluctantly reverted to the original pricing. This blatant attempt to take advantage of our oversight was deeply disappointing and indicative of their unscrupulous practices. It may seem like a good switch to save money but it is absolutely not worth it. The combination of unreliable billing practices, a refusal to rectify mistakes, and an attempt to exploit customers demonstrates a severe lack of integrity on the part of Checkr. I strongly advise against wasting your time and money on this company. Instead, invest in a reputable service provider that values transparency and adheres to agreed-upon pricing. When I brought this to their attention, I opened a ticket and they told me nothing could be done as far as a refund. I asked to have the ticket escalated to a manager, and they stood firm on their decision. **What problems is Checkr solving and how is that benefiting you?** Services like Checkr make it easy for running background checks on employees... using them until I can find an alternative. ### 35. At max about 4 clicks of the mouse. Employees get an email to complete their end and the employer is notified when it is completed. **What do you dislike about Checkr?** Checkr has a variety of product offerings at different prices from the Standard report to the Pro option. While the pdf results are easy to read, I often wonder if the "Consider" titles of emails can be altered instead of seeing this for travel violations if non-job related. **What problems is Checkr solving and how is that benefiting you?** We need an easy to use system for our remote employees across 12 or more states. Without fail, Checkr gets us the results for all employees in a timely manner. Allows us to appropriately mitigate risks with new hires at all levels. ### 40. Checkr has helped solve finding a way to get access or partnerships with local labs for health and drug screenings as well as being able to provide multiple types of background checks to support all the different compliance measures required by client locations and sites. ### 42. But if I had to give one thing I dislike, we don't get an email notification when a background check has been completed and the results are ready to review. The key factor for us is the flexible, well-documented API. The API has helped us take Checkr with us through three separate candidate evaluation platforms (Airtable, Bullhorn, and now Salesforce) without missing a beat. Background check turnaround times are almost always quick (with the exception of unavoidable court closures or delays), and the API allows us to handle different report results automatically, which allows us to operate at scale. **What do you dislike about Checkr?** Occasionally, candidates may get "stuck" in the process of updating personal information. If someone has had a legal name change for instance, it may require us internally filing a support ticket with Checkr to resolve. Having said that, Checkr has always been quick to step in and help us resolve any such issues. **What problems is Checkr solving and how is that benefiting you?** Prior to Checkr, all of our background checks were conducted by an outside firm. Results had to be checked manually, resulting in a massive weekly queue of work for our staff. Now, using the Checkr API, we are able to process candidates who clear their background checks automatically. We only have to manually intervene for background checks that come back with a different status.
