The Check Point IPsec VPN is used mainly to interconnect the datacenters owned by our company to the public clouds and the central office. Since we use the Check Point solutions as the core of our security approach, we were happy to have VPN from the same vendors. That lets to unify the architecture of the datacenters. The number of tunnels we use is not big, but the amount of traffic is sufficient - the data centers hold our game servers, and the backoffice site are located in the public cloud projects (mostly on the Google Cloud Platform).
