**What do you dislike about Check Point WAF (formerly CloudGuard WAF)?**

Vendor support time; anti-bot capabilities compared with others like Cloudfare. Third party integration: web-hook and similar

**What problems is Check Point WAF (formerly CloudGuard WAF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 27. Complete CSPM solution for multiple clouds

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Check Point WAF (formerly CloudGuard WAF)?**

Deployment is straigstraightforward. The The initial price is cheap. Even you can use it for free with a limited feature set. Entegration is also rapid, but need R/O or R/W access based on your aim. Documentation is good. It is a full solution covering compliance, network, IAM even the CI/CD and K8s security. Posture management and compliance is the most highlighted item. In fact dome9 is the most enriched compliance solution on the marketing. There's no need for additional query learning but you can use the GSL for advanced searching. You have the option to automate and mitigate the findings throughout the screen. Product supports multiple cloud providers.

**What do you dislike about Check Point WAF (formerly CloudGuard WAF)?**

Price is increasing with every new asset added through the cloud. It would be best if you made a budget assignment every year. The problem related to the CSPM is the ownership of this product. It has many outputs, and teams should engage in solving these findings. Otherwise, you see the same results again and again. You have the option for excluding/ignore; however, security risks are increased with exceptions. 3rd party integrations are not easy; you can't make one click integration with ticketing systems like jira, servicenow etc.
Interestingly there's no tight integration with dome9 and checkpoint cloudguard solution on the cloud. I expect more integration with checkpoint integrations like harmony and cloudguard. Dome9 needs constant monitoring and operation. It would help if you assigned a team for the product ownership where this team will be responsible for coordination and follow-ups. It has no built-in security scanner; however current version supports tenable.io. The updates of the dome9 service don't have alerting. You see what the new features have come after the login popup.

**Recommendations to others considering Check Point WAF (formerly CloudGuard WAF):**

First, get the executive support, then arrange a project team. This product is not a one-time solution. It needs daily monitoring, and some items on the dashboard need high-level knowledge. This team should consist of champions. Test environments on the cloud should also be integrated with Dome9. I see test environments without CSPM due to price. Get a six month or yearly check from the vendor through the PS for dome9 to see if the solution is working correctly. Some updates need a particular configuration on the cloud and in the product.

**What problems is Check Point WAF (formerly CloudGuard WAF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CSPM is a must solution for the companies which will be on the cloud. It's working like an eagle eye. We now have total visibility and control for the cloud. For high risks, we have automation tasks to mitigate directly through the dome9. Dome9 solves the compliance requirements to regulations. Reports help the auditors and compliance teams to get the exact results. We can now fully categorize the risks where we reevaluate our security procedures and guidelines to solve the gaps.

We are able to visualize your security status and comfortably implement high standard guidelines for accounts, projects, regions and virtual networks

**What do you dislike about Check Point WAF (formerly CloudGuard WAF)?**

I expected the API integration to be simpler and improved. Other than that, I have not seen a negative component that disrupts our daily routine.

**What problems is Check Point WAF (formerly CloudGuard WAF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automates management across multiple cloud assets and services, including visualization and assessment of security posture, misconfiguration detection, and enforcement of security best practices and compliance frameworks.

  ### 30. CHECK POINT CLOUDGUARD POSTURE MANAGEMENT

**What do you like best about Check Point WAF (formerly CloudGuard WAF)?**

1) Provide complete visibility of workload hosted on different Cloud Platform (AWS and Azure) along with multiple tenants.
2) Helped in enhancing's Security for Cloud environment by providing reports both in terms of Security and Compliance.
3) Provides complete visibility of traffic flowing from/towards the Cloud platform.
4) Provides best practice policy which helps to strengthen the security of Workload.
5) Assets Inventory and API call's happening from Cloud
6) Provide control in terms of accessing cloud workload. As Policy has been created which will block direct access to cloud environment in case the same is not define or approved in Dome9
7) Its always ON and even available on a mobile device using App.
8) Task delegation as a particular incident can be assigned to a particular individual and the same can be done manually or automated.
9) Customize queries for detecting any incident.

**What do you dislike about Check Point WAF (formerly CloudGuard WAF)?**

1) Policy validation should be available before it deployed in a production environment using a cloud template.
2) Auto remediation required read/write access. As providing read/write access to 3rd party applications can add risk. It should have some option of triggering API calls to Cloud platform which in turn name make required changes
3) Number of Security rules need to be added in order to identify more issue
4) Reporting should have more options
5) Should support all Container platform for visibility of complete Infra single console such as PCF

**Recommendations to others considering Check Point WAF (formerly CloudGuard WAF):**

Complete Solution should be provide in single license including storage. As Check Point charges extra for Log.ic

**What problems is Check Point WAF (formerly CloudGuard WAF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Initially we were using tools provided by Service provider such as Scout suite & AWS config trusted advisor or guard duty from AWS for monitoring and similar tools for Azure as well. We need to go through different console to identify any incident

  ### 34. Modern security orcherstrator for Clouds

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aleh P. | Senior DevOps Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2020

**What do you like best about Check Point WAF (formerly CloudGuard WAF)?**

It was really easy to start using Dome9.
Dome9 is available for the main players of the Cloud market - Azure, AWS, GCP.
Good and friendly UI - the maim plus for all the CheckPoint products.

**What do you dislike about Check Point WAF (formerly CloudGuard WAF)?**

Lack of the native automation modules for Terraform and Ansible - in the era of DevOps all new products needs to be release with such support, in my opinion.
I also hope that Dome9 will evenrually support other Cloud platforms, like Alibaba.

**Recommendations to others considering Check Point WAF (formerly CloudGuard WAF):**

Request a free demo directly from Check Point and see whether Dome9 suits you.
Also pay attention to the pricing - there are no tricks, and licensing model is transparent, but the final numbers may surprise you.

**What problems is Check Point WAF (formerly CloudGuard WAF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Initially we got the product just for it's compliance possibilities (we have to provide compliance reports on a regular basis), but now also rely heavily on configs "auto-healing".
Cloud infra visualisation is also good, especially for AWS with its cumbersome security groups.

  ### 35. CloudGuard Dome 9 by Check Point

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oleg P. | Senior DevOps Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Check Point WAF (formerly CloudGuard WAF)?**

+ Really nice visualization of the infra, including network topology, firewalls etc. It's cozy to configure stuff, and wander around the interface in general.
+ Powerful Compliance Engine. We rely heavily on this feature, since must comply to the various security standards to work in the gambling sphere across the globe, and especially in the United States and European Union.
+ The solution continuously monitors config modifications and may alarm the relevant administrators, or event revert the configs automatically.

**What do you dislike about Check Point WAF (formerly CloudGuard WAF)?**

- For now it's cloud-only solution. I hope in the future it would be extended to on-premises
- Price, but that's valid for all the security products =)

**Recommendations to others considering Check Point WAF (formerly CloudGuard WAF):**

Request a demo with the vendor to see how suitable this solution for your particular needs and underlying infrastructure.

**What problems is Check Point WAF (formerly CloudGuard WAF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cloud infra visualization and automatic compliance checks
