Subscription management and updates work exactly as we expected. The UX is really great, and Chargebee’s copilot is especially helpful for day-to-day tasks. We’re also able to use Chargebee’s integration with HubSpot, which fits well into our workflow. Reporting isn’t what I expected. Also, a few items that were introduced—such as RAMP, along with some invoice- and email-related features—aren’t provided with full context, which makes them harder to understand and use. We tried the Vitally integration, but it still isn’t fully usable because of limitations on Chargebee’s end. Chargebee doesn’t solve each and every problem, and sometimes they give rigid feedback—basically saying that this is how the product behaves and it isn’t going to change. I like Chargebee's advanced billing options and calendar billing availability. I also appreciate their excellent support team, who assist us with complicated proration issues. It involves multiple variables such as billing cycles, plan changes, timing of upgrades and downgrades, and how credits or charges are applied. It can be difficult to predict how exactly adjustments will appear on invoices without carefully reviewing the underlying calculations. What do you dislike about Chargebee? Many options can only be used globally instead of on a case by case basis. Refunds can take multiple steps. Reporting revenue is lacking. Support doesn't always know the answers when you have problems. The search feature needs to be more refined. You can't edit an item description on an invoice. I’ve been using Chargebee for almost 3 years now and have found it really helpful for managing invoicing and subscriptions for our customers. What stands out most to me is the customer support - I was genuinely impressed by how responsive the team was to a minor bug I reported, and how thoroughly they worked to resolve it! The instructions for implementation leave out so many steps that I have to google instructions or put them through A.I. Completely counter-intuitive. I also wish one-time purchases and physical add-ons were easier to implement in this system, particularly when it comes to something like apparel that has one item but multiple sizes and styles. Chargebee is a complicated piece of web interface software. It has many features, but it takes time to find things. Even with extensive documentation you are likely to need help for integration and further questions - and this is where their excellent customer support comes to play: "request a callback" feature opens a possibility to schedule a web conference with a support specialist, who will promptly address all your issues. The interface is not self-explanatory, many things are scattered across the interface and are present several times. It is difficult to learn where to find things even if you found them already once or twice, it is difficult to memorize where they were. What do you dislike about Chargebee? - data is very limited: -The MRR is not historized so we need to hisotrize it ourselves and calculate it on our own. - the dates are only in seconds. So we can't really order events because some occur at less than 1 second apart. - the coupons use is not intuitive: when you apply 1 month free coupon to an annual subscription, it gets 1 year free instead of just 1 month. It is difficult to manage subscription changes out int he future, contract renewals if the term is different than the payment term. it is also difficult to get customer insight reports in a cutomozeable way. The data out of Charebee can be dificult to eal with. Customer support has also been difficult for us to get a hold of when we needed.
