What do you like best?

Chargebee is used in my organization because of its customizable design and its correct and efficient integration with other programs to automate tasks related to the management of potential customers and subscribers, billing, outstanding balances, among others. What do you dislike?

What do you like best?

The ease of use for my team and me. The UX has been improved and it is easy to navigate through the different areas. It works really well for our products and allows us to create a lot of unique subscription plans we have for our customers. The freedom to add additional plans works really well for us and allows us to continue to grow.

The responsiveness of the Chargebee team when you have queries is great. They are quick to get back to you and provide the support we need Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I do not like that we have to filter between customer view and subscription view when having to do some actions for customers. This would be great if it was all on one page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our customer can easily sign-up and purchase our products on our platform which automatically creates monthly and annual subscriptions. This automation creates a customer for life and we can easily keep them updated on renewals. For a small start-up, we do not have a big finance team and Chargebee has taken care o a lot of the finance work including dunning emails, renewal reminders and cancellations. What do you like best?

Admin panel and capabilites. There are plenty of options and configurations and flexibility.

There are so many customizable options that I think Chargebee can fit almost any business.

The API is super extensive and even though it is somewhat difficult to implement, the documentation is good enough to keep you on the right track. The statistics and graphs do give you a good idea of how your business is performing without having to implement another tool for that specific purpose. Great!

The UI is fantastic, the only think I would appreciate is having a Mobile App to use together with the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

We are not there yet, but would love to see how their pricing affects.

Referral programs would be fantastic.

The support team for integrations is not so helpful as they will mostly support you if you are a paying customer.

It would be great if it had an initial onboarding tutorial so that one can get started inmediately on the right track by focusing on your specific usecase - otherwise it seems sort of overwhelming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Integration of their API is somewhat difficult as the options are plenty. Our dev team was having a bad time integrating as our use case is not so common.

What do you like best?

I like how you can set up recurring payments and easily invite people to update their payment information without having to call the client. It is really easy to identify who is a paying customer and who is not. This helps to separate who i need to reach out to in terms of sales calls and customer service calls. I like how you can pause a subscription without cancelling the account all together. This allows me to come back and get those users back on board.

When pulling up client information, I look at chargebee first as it is the most accurate and up to date in terms of thier subscription info. I constantly get questions about billing and this is the best and easiest way to pull that info. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I wish that i could make more notes on the account regarding payments. I also wish that i can easily search by phone number. Usually this does not work because phone numbers are sometimes in different formats. It can sometimes be hard to find a user if they leave a voicemail because the only info i have to look up the customer is the phone number.

I wish I could resend invoices or receipts. I have a lot of businesses that use our platform and thier finance people need this info and they are not usually on the account. The only person receiving invoice emails are the account users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our product is subscription based and we can easily create new subscription levels depending on new features that we offer. We constantly offer discounts. The ability to create discount codes in chargebee is nice because we work with a-lot of partners. If the user is using a partners software along with ours, we can easily offer them a discount.

I find it very easy to pull monthly revenue reports and amount of active users. This allows me to accurately submit reports to management. I can create custom filters and save them so i do not have to work hard to pull the same reports each month.

I would like to see a CRM aspect instituted where i can make notes and record emails and calls. This would help to to have a separate CRM system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Quality. The product back-end works flawlessly and the UI is usable and information-rich. In day-to-day use, Chargebee supports our sales and support efforts without any fuss. Our engineers are pleased with the quality and completeness of the API.

What do you dislike?

Subscriptions and payment processing are challenging tasks and configuring Chargebee to get the job done seems more challenging than it should have been. We've had to compromise on a few things and accept some bugs.

The build-in, user-facing javascript for checkout and subscription management is more limited than we would like and we've struggled with that. Apple Pay support has never worked using these modules despite support calls.

Internationalization could be improved. We support 7 languages and would be happy to contribute to Chargebee's translations but don't have an easy way to do that.

The UI has a learning curve. Common tasks are not intuitive but are repeatable and manageable once learned. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The platform is extremely intuitive and has tons of tools for almost every edge case your customers can throw at you. This combined with the ability to customize the platform to your specific business needs has a ton of value, especially for an organization that has not yet reached 'enterprise' level. Providing the ability to sell or resell a SaaS solution as a small business is key, given the shift of the market towards subscription and service products, vs traditional one time purchase commodities. The right documentation can be tricky to find sometimes. Granted, when a company expands their product at the rate Chargebee has, this is an acceptable negative. What do you like best?

The Chargebee API and SDK. It was so easy to integrate the javascript SDK in to our app - took us literally a day and most of that time was spent configuring package options / pricing tiers that we were going to send to Chargebee.

We also utilised the API to auto setup customers that had signed up and keeping that information up to date.

Also, allowed us the flexibility to have Stripe and GoCardless without needing to change any code on our site. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The Admin UI can be a little clunky on times but once your used to using it you don't notice so much. Some features in the top pricing tier of Chargebee didn't seem to warrant such a big package - we upgraded just so we could have Quotes.

The support for Chargebee is literally non-existent. I logged a support ticket with them on the 3rd of Feb - was told a customer success manager would contact me. I've chased numerous times and I'm still awaiting a response... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I highly recommend Chargebee if your looking to streamline subscription management and integrate with multiple payment gateways. From a developer point of view - it's really easy to get up and running!

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Chargebee allows us the flexibility of integrating with multiple payment gateways - Stripe and GoCardless. We only need to do one integration with Chargebee so if we ever decide to change payment gateway or if the payment gateway change their API, then I don't need to worry about it. Chargebee can handle it all and my code stays the same.

Dunning management is a really handy feature of chargebee - auto retrying a failed payment card rather than us manually intervening. We get notifications via Slack too so we can see when a customer has paid / signed up / or had a transaction declined. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Ease of use and flexibility. Chargebee is quick to implement and train a staff on. The integration with Quickbooks is a huge time saver and allows the staff to complete things a highly-paid accountant/controller usually would need to accomplish. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We're managing the AR for all of our B2B SaaS clients using one platform which saves us time. We had over 500 active accounts before we had to hire someone to help manage billing. What do you like best?

Pretty much any billing feature I could think of was included with ChargeBee. Integrating it with other systems was a breeze and I asked a ton of questions when getting started which the support team were always insanely responsive on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I work on the Chargebee platform on a day-to-day basis, the UI is very intuitive and easy to use. When this was implemented in our organization, our team was able to understand its features immediately and started working with it right away. What do you dislike?

There are times when there is a slight delay in the Freshworks CRM - Chargebee integration. The most difficult aspect of working with Chargebee is login workflow, we have to go to the Chargebee main webpage, login with our credentials, and then select a particular. In a fast-paced environment, it is quite hectic to follow this process. It would be great if there is an Account URL common to our organization and by searching for the same, we must be able to access our portal direclty. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

- Quick and Easy login - it would be easier if Chargebee provided us with an org URL. All the agents with specific access such as trial extension would be able to do only such function. Implementing this would ease my workflow.

- Custom view-based on account owner: As there is ready integration available with Freshworks CRM. It would be super helpful if we are able to set up a view of all the different accounts based on the account owner. An additional feature like this would make the everyday operations of a sales representative (especially SAAS business) would be game-changing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

At our organization, Chargebee is used as a Customer subscription management software. We use it to monitor customer trial periods, account status, invoice generation, and similar features. The simple and easy-to-use nature of the tool makes our operations easier. As the system is that simple to use, we are able to work with our billing team with ease on accounts and have our customer's requirements and needs addressed right away. What do you like best?

I like that it was easy to get up and running with Chargebee. The administrative panel is easy to understand. As I went through the implementation, it felt like they've thought of everything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Right now, a user can only have a single trial and subscription. This would be a bigger problem for me, but the Chargebee team tells me they are working on this limitation and by the time I'll have users with multiple subscriptions this will likely be resolved.

What do you like best?

Super useful and fast! They have also a cool startup program, they permit to you use Chargebee for free to try it. After that the price is super honest.

I love also the user experience, it is super simple to manage and you can also edit the email. You can edit more or a less all the parts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Almost nothing! They could add the possibility to export data in pdf, because at the moment you can only export your data in csv. Sometimes business consultant need something more simple to read.

I suggest to update the limit for a startup to use it for free and verify if the startup as a scalable business. They could provide a better service and support to a limited number of startups that really need it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Negative sides:

- can be very tricky until the first purchase

What do you like best?

Chargebee offers so many amazing user facing, analytics, and accounting features that would take way too long to build on your own. As a product manager, I feel so much more control over my subscription business as I can really dig into the data, run sales, and manage my users without having to bother a developer for help.

My main regret is that we didn't move our subscription business onto Chargebee sooner. We spent months building a fraction of the features that exist in Chargebee, even though our core competency is not a subscription platform. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We're using Chargebee for a number of things.

We had issues managing multiple payment gateways with our old in-house subscription platform. There was wasted developer time debugging and fixing problems, and Chargebee eliminates this wasted time.

We're also using Chargebee to easily run sales, to boost our revenue.

Chargebee also makes it much easier to understand our customers through their detailed analytics.

What do you like best?

The user interface is relatively intuitive for certain things, like checking a customer's balance due or whether they have unpaid invoices Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

None of the integrations work very well (Salesforce, Sage Intacct, etc) and the customer support to resolve the issues is horrible. The reporting is also sub-par and, in some instances, non-existent on certain metrics like ARR. Forget revenue recognition, which they say they have but is completely inaccurate. Chargebee can't even produce an Accounts Receivable Aging Schedule as of a specific date. The support team often doesn't understand basic financial concepts nor do they respond in a timely manner. Generally speaking, Chargebee over promises and under delivers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Look at alternatives. We are probably going to switch to something else for managing our subscriptions, invoicing our customers, and reporting. If you want a product that will grow with you as you business grows, look at Zuora, SaaSOptics, Stripe Billing, or Salesforce CPQ + Billing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The flexibility to allow the customisation of the system based on your requirements, the support team are always on hand if needed and I have found the help center articles excellent.
