Earlier, a lot of this work had to be done manually in Excel, which was time-consuming and prone to errors. With RevRec, the process is automated, which saves time, reduces mistakes, and ensures compliance with accounting standards. I like the deferred revenue and revenue deferral features for recording revenue. The support team is very helpful and always ready to assist, which is great, especially because the initial setup was slightly technical. Despite some setup challenges, I find Chargebee RevRec to be a good platform for my subscription-based business. I have integrated it with QuickBooks Online, which helps in the process. We have to manually work to align the payout with payment gateways like PayPal or Stripe. The payout report should be straightforward, showing what we have received in a particular month or date with the payment IDs already mentioned in PayPal or Stripe reports so I can compare easily. In my opinion, this is an easy-to-use platform. I used to do manual journal entries, but in Chargebee I never had to create any manual JEs. Chargebee RevRec offers a simple and effective way to automate revenue recognition. The user interface is intuitive, making navigation easy, and the available settings provide a good level of customization. This allows me to adapt the revenue recognition process to fit my company's specific needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Chargebee RevRec? Chargebee RevRec's reporting capabilities fall short of my company's requirements. The reports can handle a maximum of 200,000 transactions; if this limit is exceeded, an error message is returned. As a result, we have to extract data from Chargebee RevRec and import it into our data platform. However, this extraction process is challenging because RevRec does not offer an API. Instead, we must schedule daily exports to an AWS S3 bucket, which is then connected to our data platform. Another major limitation of Chargebee RevRec is its restricted ability to update transactions via the data import function. It is not possible to delete transactions through imports or back-end scripts. You should be cautious about what you add to Chargebee, as the only way to remove transactions is manually, one by one, through the user interface. This limitation has extended the implementation process, as my company has gone through several trials and errors of synching outside data with Chargebee RevRec.
