It's my first experience in a saas revrec system, so I don't have much to compare to, but I've always felt like it's easy to understand, the help pages are actually quite helpful, and if not then the customer service is quick to respond and usually quite effective. I don't like that they finally forced me to consider their RevRec system by withholding certain "Classic Reports" that I used. RevRec is admittedly quite affordable, but still I don't like the way they changed things up on me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We're a software company, so we originally created our own billing software (Advice: Don't ever do this unless you plan to sell it as an Enterprise solution) and within about two years immediately ran into issues due to needing to fight for internal development resources to support it properly. Now we can reply on Chargbee's customer support team and implementation was not difficult. The cost savings by switching to Chargebee over an internal tool we have to maintain was a no-brainer and we use it for all of our invoicing. This may be caused by our unique organizational practices, but once an invoice is made and posted it is difficult to adjust and we end up just making a separate line item for credit rather than fixing the error because it is easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Chargebee RevRec simplifies revenue recognition on the basis of subscription. The reports are user friendly and provide real-time data on revenue to be recognized. The best part is that report can be extracted to include one-time revenue and subscription income separately. This is quite automated process and minimum effort is needed. One challenge with Chargebee RevRec is that the setup and customization can be a bit complex, especially for companies with unique revenue models. It can take some time to tailor it to fit your specific needs. RevRec allows me to easily calculate the Recognized Revenue for every customer we have in Chargebee. I can also calculate it by product, or by subscription. The Chargebee RevRec experience was one of our company fully understanding how to capture and use our accounting data. Prior to using any third party platform or serivce, we relied on our tax accountant to develop annualized deferred and accrued revenue schedules to support annual financial statements. We never felt compliant with GAAP and we did not have a strong paperwork trail to support future growth in financial reporting. ChargeBee RevRec provides a technology platform that supports many revenue recognition policies, including our business that is more long-term R&D type contracts. It is user friendly, we used it for our SAAS product. Got the figures quite easily. Revenue recoginition, reconcililations, modifications became quite easy for us.
