It's very easy to install Chameleon, set up tours, tooltips, or surveys. Also, it's easy to interact with other tools like Typeform.

The onboarding process was very helpful and the product is easy to use.

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 10. Best On-boarding tool I've used. Period.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Satyan S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Ease of use. Fantastic price. I have used this product to onboard everyone from machine vision scientists to construction schedulers into various applications. It offers the abstraction between developers and products. Fantastic documentation, continuous improvement and new feature delivery. Lastly, the team that handles support and best practices is accessible and easy to work with.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Literally nothing. It is a fantastic approach and tool.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Improving velocity of tours, training, downloads and on-boarding content. De-coupling release of on-boarding content from a developer-centric "Deployments" schedule or process.

I have realized that Chameleon is the ideal "shim" allowing my product team to reach our users directly, engage with them, measure the effectiveness of that engagement, and more, all without the need to push constant changes and update to our product code.

  ### 11. Thankful for Chameleon

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

We tried everything and Chameleon was the only one that has the most features, power, and flexibility to do anything our designers and marketing team envisioned. Most others are quite limited and too simple.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

It seems to work better in Chrome and I was a Safari user but its easy to get used to.

**Recommendations to others considering Chameleon:**

Map out your flow before starting.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Chameleon for onboarding new customers when they first come into our application and also when we launch new features. It works well with our existing data to segment the users to the right tours and tooltips. We are able to effectively track engagement and refine over time. It’s easy to set goals and track important metrics on how we perform against them. We have seen a significant improvement in adoption and engagement after using Chameleon and not quite sure how we would have explained the things we needed to without them. What we really get back is freedom and time. Freedom to make things work the way we want and not boxed into just text boxes with a next button. The time and cost savings of not having to involve a developer is immense.

  ### 12. Great features, Great price, excellent support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon makes it easy to add interactions and instructions to our applications without engaging our development team. The Chameleon team is also incredibly receptive. They seem to care about our experience with their product and frequently ask for feedback to improve it. Their integration support has been incredibly helpful for our development team. They are easily one of the best vendor relationships I have.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The Chameleon editor interface doesn't always work well, especially with dynamic data on the page. Our operations team has to get a little creative with how they use the tools in order to accomplish our goals.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're primarily using Chameleon to tour new features. We're also using the launcher product to integrate with our help center. We've been able to track an increase in traffic to our help center from our application since we started using the launcher. Our customers frequently provide positive feedback on the tours.

  ### 13. Great Onboarding Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It's relatively easy to design on-screen help that matches the look and feel of our existing app. The various triggers and available elements offer a lot of control over experiences and make it much easier to provide contextual help without having to take users to a separate support center.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

There is a bit of a learning curve, though that's true with most software. The segmentation tools could be improved to offer more flexibility in targeting specific user groups. Over time, the app has grown and more features have been added so I anticipate seeing changes like these.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've been able to add in-app help, create brief new user training sequences, highlight new features to drive adoption, and even started collecting feedback from users to improve our product.

  ### 14. Great tool for onboarding tours

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The tool is very lightweight and easy to set up

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Using a Chrome plugin is a downside if you rely on other browsers for work.

**Recommendations to others considering Chameleon:**

One for the best tools around for product tools. They also have an excellent support

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for a bunch of different use cases. From setting up targeted onboarding messages to based on user events and attributes, to setting up on-off messages for campaigns, Chameleon has been very flexible snd helpful.

These were some of the requirements we had and it offers:

-Attributes Tracking

-Auto-Message

-Entry & Exit Condition

-CSAT Integration

- Easy User Data Management

- Event Tracking for,In-App Auto Message

- Performance Tracking

- Segment Integration

- User Segmentation/Filtering

  ### 15. Effective & easy to use!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob S. | Data Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

My favorite part about chameleon is how simple and easy it is to set up a pop-up. Everything from triggers, design, and fine-tuning is very intuitive and doesn't require too much trouble shooting. Level of complexity is perfect.

Their support pages are also helpful and I can figure out everything I need on my own.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I've had some trouble with uploading CSVs in the past, but that was with a particularly large targeted group of users. Otherwise, I really enjoy my experience using chameleon for simple in app pop-ups.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving engagement from users without overwhelming their inbox with email marketing. By targeting specific users with triggers in the app we are still able to provide value for our clients without ruining the user experience.

  ### 16. So Far, So Good.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily Y. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It's much easier to reach customers when they are logged in to our platform and engaged than it is through email. Tracking those metrics has been very valuable.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The interface is a tad clumsy and could be streamlined. Some of the functionality we want isn't there.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Customers get far too many emails these days. We are using Chameleon to approach them in a new way while they're logged in to our platform and engaged so we know they have eyes on our messaging. Furthermore, the messages are targeted to specific groups so it's very relevant to those that see it. We've been able to set specific goals and try new messaging/popups to see what works best on getting our results.

  ### 17. I really like using chameleon but we can't upgrade because it becomes pricy for our size

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Flavia I. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It's really easy to use. It's flexible and it helped us to test and iterate quickly on different ways to engage our user's without any, or very little, development effort

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

We can't upgrade because the price jump is too big for us yet.
The modals or dialogs some time have scrolling issues in small screen sizes.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- We are able to get a lot of valuable feedback in key areas of our product.
- We can understand better the friction points as well as what users really appreciate.
- It helped us to help our first time user's as well as support our launch process.
- It enable our service department to better engage with our users

  ### 18. Easy to use for CS team

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The app takes some learning, but in general, I've been able to set up tooltips and launchers with less engineering help than if we were building this in-house.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I've run into several issues with alignment or getting triggers and segments to work, but I think this is just part of the trial and error period of setup

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Setting up tooltips throughout our app, plus a custom onboarding checklist for new users.

  ### 19. Amazing product. Ahead of its time.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandon C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The ease of use and flexibility with the product. It is obvious that this is a company that understands their customers. Building immersive in-app experiences that do not impact the performance of the application is insanely valuable when thinking of growing product adoption and increasing gross margin. Also, their content and support teams are top notch and have helped myself and my team level up in our knowledge and ability.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The product can be slightly buggy at times, which can be annoying. A simple page reload/refresh will typically fix any issues, but the product could be more stable.

**Recommendations to others considering Chameleon:**

Read their content to get a feel for overall best practices. Start small with one pain point, launch a tour, and get feedback from your users.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I oversee a small team focused on servicing our customers at scale. We are trying to grow adoption in a sustainable and scalable way. Chameleon is a huge part of our overall strategy. So far, we have launched tours, launchers, surveys, and more, and have helped our customers self-serve in a way that feels natural.

  ### 20. Really great product, we wouldn't be without it!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Becs K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

We have been using Chameleon for at least 18 months now and it is brilliant. As a product, the feature set has be made easier to use (while also building out greater flexibility) so I'm always able to achieve what I want without having to ask our developers to do things for me. With its integration with Segment I'm easily able to hook into our in-app events then run tours and segment our customer base with that data so I can accurately target our users with the right messages.
I love the fact that I can set up goals and see how our tours are performing too and I can get all the data I need like seeing who has seen a tour, quickly and easily.

In addition the introduction of the surveys has been a really valuable tool for getting quick responses to asking how easy people found a particular feature to set up, thus being able to work out whether we should focus our efforts on improving it (alongside other event monitoring tools).
Absolutely love this product - it saves time and effort and I can quickly add tours where I see sticking points in our user flows.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Sometimes the support takes a while to reply (more than 24 hours) which is a little frustrating for the amount that we pay.
The documentation could be more complete and the API docs have been inaccurate at times.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Directing customers to new features
Narrowing down focus on specific parts of pages where they need to take an action by highlighting it in a Chameleon tour
Guiding customers to take the correct action
Helping to onboard customers in tandem with email content

  ### 21. Great tool for Customer Engagement and Education

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andy P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The ease of use hen setting up an in-app virtual walkthrough of new product features. Setting up an in-app tutorial or feature announcement is clean and easy.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

There are some areas that ere confusing to get started and it took a while to get comfortable with all functions but that as short lived.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

User Engagement, itroducing new features in-app, getting users to train with a member of CS. We have found that using the in-app tutorials, videos, and product features has lead to a higher engagement score and more customers requesting to receive training with a member of our Customer Success Team.

  ### 22. Simple and elegant tool for enabling users!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason L. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon allows our Product Team to deploy in-app tours within a matter of minutes. The tool is extremely easy to use, super customizable, and has tons of great out-of-the-box features. Highly recommend Chameleon as a lightweight yet robust tool for enabling and engaging users.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I wish that there were MORE customization options. Sometimes I want to add a condition for displaying a step, but I'm not sure how to accomplish that using Chameleon.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon allows us to seamlessly announce new features to our users without needing additional engineering work. Overall, this saves a bunch of time for our company!

  ### 23. Game Changer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jasmine S. | Support Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon allowed us to hit our goal of providing self-service onboarding and support options in under two weeks from purchase to full implementation.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The UI can be a little finicky, but I have gotten fast responses and action on any problems reported. I do wish you did not have to navigate to the specific web page where the content lives in order to make even just a small tweak to the language.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Chameleon to provide self-service onboarding and in-platform tools and help for our customers.

  ### 24. Great Product that aims to Improve by talking to their Users

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris T. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon is quick to install, easy of use and their support is great if issues arise. They also are keen on improving the product and gathering feedback from their users.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I wish there was a bit more flexibility on the quantity of the micro-surveys without having to increase my plan.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides an easy onboarding experience for our users as well as allows our customers to utilize some of the features to answer their questions before reaching out to our support.

  ### 25. Good Onboarding Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric K. | Product Manager/Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I like how we can make the in app tools look like they came from us.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I would like the product to work with native mobile apps.

**Recommendations to others considering Chameleon:**

It's pretty easy to setup. I recommend getting the right people to not only set it up but manage it over time. One of our biggest challenges is being able to have time to manage it properly.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're not using the feature to it's fullest. I believe this product helps us onboard our customers more quickly. I haven't been able to dig in very deep to see any additional benefits just yet. I was hoping to use surveys to see how customers feel about certain features soon after using those features.

  ### 26. 2-way Segment Integration & a Feature Set that "checks all the boxes"

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon checked all of the boxes during my search for the right onboarding tool for our company. We required a tool that synced both way into Segment, and that provided launchers, tooltips, and hotspots. And Chameleon checked all of those boxes.

I would like to also add that the Chameleon technical support is extremely efficient and polite. I've been very happy with the Chameleon team and overall the product.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

At times the Chameleon UX chrome extension is a little tricky to navigate, and sometimes there are UX issues when searching for users based on user_ID. If it were not for those issues, I would have given a 10/10.

**Recommendations to others considering Chameleon:**

The 2 way sync with Segment is a game changer. You can then effectively attribute your product onboarding experiences/interventions.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon helps us with creating a more organic, in-app discovery and learning experience for our users.
In just a few weeks we are finding that Chameleon "experiences" are already showing a correlation with converting users.

  ### 27. It provides a lot of features and options, to help with better adoption.

Tour functionality - especially when we are rolling out to new User groups.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The editor is not user-friendly. It does take a lot of time to familiarize with buttons to get the

**Recommendations to others considering Chameleon:**

It is great tool with rich feature set, providing solution to almost all needs. As a solution designer, you should definitely have a demo or trial to envision the possibilities.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

User Adoption - Enabling Users to familiarize with the new tool, and propose to use it when new features are launched.
Also, encourage User with good behavior with congratulatory messages.

The tool is yet to be launched, but, we expect better engagement with this tool.

  ### 28. Chameleon has been a really powerful tool for our Customer Experience team.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Baotri N. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

My favorite feature is the ability to bring custom attributes into Chameleon. The custom attributes have enabled our Customer Experience team to create immersive and detailed tours for users. Additionally, Chameleon provides flexible data outputs for limitless analytical possibilities.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I dislike Chameleon's out of the box analytics. The dashboard is helpful, but if you'd interested in learning more about your tours you need to export the data and use another tool.

I'd love more self-service analytics out of the box.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're able to create tours on our website for users without needing to rely on engineering resources.

  ### 29. Chameleon is a great platform for keeping your users engage!

The direct browser integration and GUI makes it easy for those outside the tech team to configure it.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

None really, its an effective way to train users.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're trying to simultaneously educate our users about our product, and provide walk-throughs that eliminate the need for us to train them in person. It saves us time and improves the user experience.

  ### 31. Easy to create tours and feedbacks for onboarding

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aditya L. | Product Marketing / Product led growth, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Tours feature is very easy to use and I can create modals for almost any use case inside our product.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Not much to dislike there, although the designer is good but can have more improvements in terms of options.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are creating a whole onboarding flow as major task in chameleon and one of the benefits that we have realized is that we can get as personalized as possible with different segments of our users

  ### 32. Easy to use for beginners & advanced tutorial builders.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Colton S. | Sales & Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I enjoy the ability to create popups on our client dashboards that direct users to new sales opportunities.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I dislike how hard it is to get the triggers to work according to how they say they'll work. For instance, showing a pop up every time a page refreshes does not work on our site for some reason.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving our clients questions before they ask them by leaving "tours" available to walk them through the basics of how to use our dashboard, and where to find the resources they need.

  ### 33. Helpful to provide new updates to customers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The software is easy to use and I like not having to pull developers off projects to add training tours or updates.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Need the option to build tours on mobile

**Recommendations to others considering Chameleon:**

Watch their training videos, it should be pretty easy to use after that.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Improved the ability to notify customers of new features.

  ### 34. GOOD TOOL IF YOU WANT TO INVEST IN STYLING YOUR ONBOARDING

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Quick to get setup with pixel. Simple to set up pop-ups, good out of the box analytics.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

UX navigating between dashboard and editing a launcher is a little wonky. Sometimes you leave it on edit mode and everytime you revisit your own website Chameleon takes precedence over regular navigation which is frustrating. Need a developer to get your pop-ups styled on brand.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Good for defining onboarding paths for new users, recruiting users for user interviews, launching new features, calling out existing features in your UI.

  ### 35. Includin Chameleon in a React app

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alfredo B. | Full Stack Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

As a developer, it was easy to include in the project, did not have any issue.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I believe it could work from other platforms instead of a browser extension.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's an old application, and we are adding functionality to something without adding any code.

  ### 36. Terrific tool to launch and communicate new features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh S. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Requires no-to-low code skills. Product teams can can bolster new feature releases with a wide range of in-product communications, all without engineering support. I like that I can get very targeted with who sees and uses the tours/launchers/tool tips.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The UX isn't the smoothest. It gets the job done.

I had some issues early on where Chmln was causing my browser to crash on my local machine, but the support team was pretty fantastic with researching and fixing the issue in a quick manner.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

New feature introduction was reserved for occasional email campaigns prior to Chameleon. Now, we have a suite of tools to use to release features and increase adoption, all powered by Chameleon.

  ### 37. Chameleon has been very useful for guided onboarding our users on our platform.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leo V. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

User-friendly interface, and ease of use

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Nothing of importance, The support helped us solve almost all issues.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onboarding new customers.

  ### 38. Chameleon onboarding for scale-up

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Farming | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Good service and very good product. Checklists and ability to target specific groups of users are for me the reason to choose for Chameleon, together with the pricing, as for most onboarding software you need the supercoorporate plan to be able to do this.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I am just using Chameleon for a couple of weeks, so far now dislikes.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onboarding

  ### 39. Mixed user experience

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Constantly adding functionality. Good support

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Very slow UI. it takes very long to perform basic tasks.
Multi-language support (last checked Nov 2019) Is totally missing, VERY hard to manage that side.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

getting user feedback. Inline help. CSAT / NPS - once set up - quite OK.

  ### 40. Love chameleon to customize user onboarding in webapps

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It has many funcitonalities (like surveys, tooltips, embedds, etc) and data gathering is pretty simple and effective.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I think it would be great if there was a way to make the onboarding tours mobile friendly (or IOs and Android compatible),

**Recommendations to others considering Chameleon:**

Make it mobile app friendly

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating an amazing onboarding without many tech resources

  ### 41. Great tool with even better support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick S. | GM, Studios, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Our favorite thing about Chameleon so far is the support. It seems that Pulkit and the team care about their customers, even on the lower-level plans. They do a lot to help you find early success.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

We researched a dozen tools for our new product onboarding experience and ended up going with Chameleon. In our research, we felt that Chameleon had a slightly less intuitive builder interface than its closest competitor. That being said, it hasn't been a barrier to us getting started and we felt that the upsides of Chameleon far outweighed this minor nitpick.

**Recommendations to others considering Chameleon:**

Utilize their onboarding experience and ask questions early.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are redesigning our SaaS company's entire product onboarding experience to be self-guided by Chameleon-built tools.

  ### 42. Product owner

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Feature rich with deep customization while keep simple UX

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Heavyweight, take time to load
lack of feature for dashboard analytics

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Create more rich user guideline for our product without programming effort

  ### 43. Of the DAPs I've used, it's one of the simpler ones to hop in and get started

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Easy to get started and get up and running quickly.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Doesn't have the feature set of the leading DAP platforms (mainly WalkMe)

**Recommendations to others considering Chameleon:**

Be patient ... I think it'll be a great platform in time, but the feature set compared to WalkMe is just not there yet.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Driving adoption of internal enterprise applications, simplifying onboarding for employees.

  ### 44. Continually evolving software supported by a fabulous team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lara S. | Marketing Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The user interface makes it easy to self learn. Their support team is fabulous and they seem to be always rolling out feature updates. Their pricing is also reasonable, making it a much more viable option for smaller/early stage software companies.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Analytics is not as comprehensive as other products.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to design guided tours that help users have an 'aha' moment with our product, quicker.

  ### 45. Very good

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

GUI overlay editor is very good and intuitive. Certainly helps do things in a very short time.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

JS API and the way to start a tour that way.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onboarding our 2 separate segments of users certainly made it a lot less frictionless with Chameleon.

  ### 46. Poor UX, no support, terrible billing and free trial experience

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Lots of features, lots of configurability

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The customer support is non-existent. You have to sign up for a free trial with a credit card, when I cancelled the account after a week and a half my account went to "Cancellation Started" status but I was still charged 2 days later.

**Recommendations to others considering Chameleon:**

Check out other options, make sure you're ok with the way Chameleon supports users. Enterprise level deals probably get better treatment.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The software provides an easy way to go over the top of your web application to provide messages and modals to guide users through tutorials or product updates.

  ### 47. Give the possibility to create an amazing customer experience for our users

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The tours functionality and all the possible triggers we can create.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Some times the test of all that we have built is difficult

**Recommendations to others considering Chameleon:**

Test and find solutions in the community, there are a lot of possibilities of implementation

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Customer onboarding
Tricky functionality explanation
Support before the issues happen

  ### 48. A great value tool for improving our onboarding

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew G. | Head of Product (Enterprise), Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2018

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon offers a great way for us to onboard users to our SAAS tool which while there are others in the market, they really are out of the price point for a startup to use

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Flexibility can sometimes we a challenge - we are using it across multiple different clients with slightly different requirements and some features and changes are unable to be scaled across our instances

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Training our users on the value and how to use our tool

  ### 49. Still some way to a full product but not bad for a start

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2019

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

How its editor integrates into a page, does not need additional installation.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

But having editor as integrated part of the page you are building on might causing the service to be slow.

**Recommendations to others considering Chameleon:**

If you are looking for a more affordable basic solution then this is a good call, but if you really need something more capable there are other solutions out there (with a price).

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onboarding users into SaaS that is offered.

  ### 50. Great Product

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Relations | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Super helpful when working with multiple remote team members.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Better UI for new users. It currently looks clunky. It was a bit difficult for us to understand at the beginning because none of us had ever worked with the product before.

**Recommendations to others considering Chameleon:**

Make sure someone has used it before or is willing to put in the effort to learn a new product and train other users before scaling to larger teams.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Able to hire more remote team members. We are able to work with multiple users across different timezones to better work directly with our clients.
