## Chameleon Reviews
 ### 1. Chameleon

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bea Patricia P. | Senior support specialist II, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I like how intuitive and flexible Chameleon is. It allows us to create customized in-app experiences without needing heavy development work, which helps us guide users more effectively.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Sometimes the setup and customization options can feel a little complex at first, and it takes time to fully understand all the features

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon helps us onboard new users faster and more smoothly, which improves adoption and retention

 ### 2. Intuitive and easy to use tool!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon offers many features that allow you to create a seamless user experience in your app with very little effort. I really like how easy it is to customise many aspects of the tool which help me to update users on new platform updates, notifications of downtime or other product notices and create detailed product tours.

The data and insights available have allowed me to improve notifications and product information so that it is more engaging for users.

I use the tool approximately once or twice a month now, having set up all of the key components over a year and a half ago. Making any edits or changes is effortless!

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

We have had a few challenges with our tooltips and we have not been able to stop the tooltip appearing through a side menu which has opened on top of the tool tip which is quite frustrating.

This is very minor, and to resolve this requires an extra feature which my company have decided not to purchase, however, I do not like the log-on feature of being emailed a magic link, I feel as though it disrupts my work flow having to open a new window.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Chameleon to notify users of product updates, downtime, tool tips for greater product insight and it's product tour feature to reduce the requirement for live-demos. This has reduced the demand for customer support, made the customer experience feel more cohesive and the tool has integrated fairly seamlessly.

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> Love that you've been getting value from Chameleon for 1.5+ years! 🎉 The fact that editing is "effortless" after your initial setup is music to our ears.

Quick fixes for your pain points:

- Tooltip z-index issue: I'm sure we can add some support from our back-end for this; can you email us at help@chameleon.io with specific details and mention this review/me and we can see what we can do?

- Magic link login: Do you use Google Workspace, and can you use it to authenticate? We think magic link and OAuth is safer than passwords. We also support other providers (e.g. Okta) but requires a paid add-on.

Thanks for sticking with us and for the honest feedback. Feel free to email me (pulkit at chameleon dot io) or LinkedIn DM me anytime!

 ### 3. Effortless User Experience Creation Without Production Delays

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I'm able to build user experiences without the need for costly and lengthy production releases.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I had a steep learning curve for the Builder tool, which is how you create experiences within your app.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can reach out to my customers about new features or product releases without creating more work for our development team.

 ### 4. A pretty intuitive experience that could still use user-experience improvements

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Petteri J. | Head of Growth Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The speed at which audiences are processed is excellent, no need to wait around and every tour is triggered as intended.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

There have been a few UI fixes, but most of the issues still remain. For example: not having the capability to open audiences in a new tab makes editing multiple audiences quite cumbersome (since you need to search first, then open audience, make edits and save, go back and redo all the previous steps).

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon helps us promote new features, run marketing activations, and create onboarding flows for new users.

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> Glad to hear the audience processing speed is hitting the mark! ⚡

I totally feel your pain and frustration around the Audience UI; we have some ideas for how to solve this and will look to tackle a few problems and make improvements soon!

Pls do feel free to email me (pulkit at chameleon dot io) for anything else!

 ### 5. Helpful software for publishing flows, embeddables, and collecting CSAT data

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Natalie L. | Senior Product Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I like its versatility. We use it both for publishing onboarding flows, new product releases, and informational banners, AND for collecting CSAT data. CSAT data is pretty easily integrated into other softwares like Slack and Google Sheets.

Implementation was pretty easy to set up, customer support has been quick and easy to access, and generally it's pretty easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The UI can be a bit buggy, you have to remember to click "Apply Changes" otherwise your changes won't be published.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We release a lot of new features, and Chameleon is our in-product marketing tool. We also use it to collect CSAT data.

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> Thanks for the 5 stars! 🌟 Love that you're getting double value from both the marketing flows AND CSAT collection—that versatility is something we're really proud of.

The "Apply Changes" thing is a classic gotcha but needed to prevent accidentally updating something Live when unintended. We should make it clearer that an Experience needs to be re-published though, so we'll find a way to make that clearer!

Appreciate you taking the time to review, and thanks for being a power user across multiple use cases!

 ### 6. Effortless Requirement Management, Minor CSS Bugs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kunal P. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Ability to add requirements like surveys etc without have to manage it ourselves

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Have seen few bugs happening around css intermitently

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Creating quick micro-surveys to understand user behaviors.
- Adding demo tours on new features launch to increase visibility.

 ### 7. High quality low-code tools for SaaS products!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon N. | Senior Product Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon is easy to use for the most basic functionality but also has the potential to do very complicated and custom things. It allows people with little technical knowledge to use the program while enabling power users to do much more. They have done an outstanding job of continuing to grow their related functionality.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The Chameleon dashboard can be a little confusing as they ship changes. Generally, these changes are going to improve the software in the long run but the interim points where the UX is mismatched can make it confusing.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon allows me to build self-serve experiences quickly and efficiently without having to involve my development teams. The ability to iterate on experiences allows me to test things with confidence that I can experiment and play around freely.

 ### 8. The Product Adoption tool you're looking for!?

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Lots of different oppourtunities to shape how you deliver your communication. Designing experiences doesn't take too long to learn. Success and Support teams are super responsive and eager to help.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

As with any other tool, you would occasionally run into things that don't tick all the boxes for your own case, a recent example for us is how to apply account-wide CSS themes.
However, all in all the product gives you the feeling that it's very well thought through and that develops into the right direction.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Digital Onboarding - Guiding our new users through their first steps using Tours etc.
Feature Adoption - Introducing changes to the platform.
Self-Serve - Providing contextual help at friction points.
Adhoc communication - We can set up comms very quickly in urgent cases such as bugs, which is the prefered solution over building it ourselves.

 ### 9. Great for what we use it for

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maria K. | Customer Success, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

We've been using Chameleon mainly for in product announcements and customer surveys. I can say that it has definitely improved how we approach customer communication. I'm also looking forward to exploring the features we haven't utilized yet.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I've not found any downsides yet, but I'm still exploring our use case.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has improved the communication between us and our customers at all tiers, where we were originally only able to keep in contact with our paid tier customers.

 ### 10. Chameleon is complete, innovative and simple to use!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Isabella F. | Ux Writer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

All tour features, lists, banners, and more, plus countless customization options. Tasteful customizations, in line with current trends.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I'm Brazilian and the tool hasn't been translated into Portuguese yet.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It serves as a customer onboarding tool for using our platform. A content tool that easily adapts to the product without the need for technical development.

 ### 11. Easy way to gauge satisfaction with low-touch clients

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It's a great way to keep tabs on clients and employee satisfaction. Especially with low-touch clients. I like that it integrates with Slack.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

It just gives you data, no real integrated ways to then action that data. A lot of manual work still needed to prepare outreach after the information has been gathered but a great way to gather info.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows me to know how the onboarding is going across my portfolio without actively needing to remember who is coming up for a 180 day review and also allows me to gauge perception of the platform and look at that combined with the adoption of the platform.

 ### 12. Super easy, but limited sometimes.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luiza S. | Revenue Operations Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

How easy is to set things and make them live. How easy is to apply a style.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Sharing surveys answers with other systems are possible, but not easy to set. Also the templates sometimes are quite limited when you need to combine surveys, with messages.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Increase customer engagement.

 ### 13. Easy to Use, But Customer Service Needs to Improve

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elivelton P. | CRM Analyst, Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Ease of setup and creation of tours and NPS

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Slow service and no support in Portuguese

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease in communicating with my clients using diverse resources

 ### 14. Cost-effective, user friendly tool that's fun to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mitchell M. | Director of Product Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Compared to other tools I've used like Pendo, Chameleon is a lot more user-friendly and built for teams that want to quickly iterate on campaigns for users.

Especially for the price it was the right fit for my small team to leverage. Our favorite use case is enabling embedded surveys including CSAT, NPS, and CES within exact spots in our product we want to analyze.

I love the way Chameleon allows for anchoring on elements within a page. It's a little tricky sometimes, but working through that allowed me to be a lot more relevant to specific users in specific moments in my product.

We've used it for new user onboarding, surveys, and feature releases which all worked well. I'm excited to try out support and other items.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

In the early phases, we had trouble getting all of our filters correct to make sure messages only appeared in certain spots.

I recommend teams work with UX/Engineering to set up rules of the road to enable an easier process for launching things via the tools. I had trust issues with just utilizing the Chameleon previewing messages in the tool and would deploy to our staging environment.

Some formatting stuff can look weird when you put it in (like bolding or hyperlinking items), but otherwise I think anyone that spends a few hours with this will pick it up quickly.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating deeper feedback loops with our users
Reducing friction during the early phases of onboarding
Allowing us to create nudges within product using tool tip

Chameleon is benefiting us by creating low lift solutions for us to connect with our users.

 ### 15. Its an easy tool to the users

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Natalia S. | UX/UI Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The support team, they always are pending to help and the new tools are focused on the industry work

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Sometime it does not work but I think it might be for the internet conection

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Teach to the user our new functions, get some metrics of our clients and pick information for our new releases

 ### 16. Chameleon Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Warehousing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon is a light and flexible tool that makes it incredibly easy to notify our customers in the product experience. It offers a variety of custom options, and their support team is always available to assist when we need a hand. We use Chameleon quite frequently to help push critical announcements to our merchants.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Chameleon sometimes can require some troubleshooting for custom set up (i.e. fonts, colors) which we've learned through

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Notifying our merchants of changes and announcements in-product. Chameleon is an excellent tool to quickly get quality banners and interstitials live in our product.

 ### 17. Satisfied — Solid product with real impact on adoption

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elor L. | Head of Product Growth, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon gives us a flexible toolkit to improve product onboarding and feature discovery without eating up dev cycles. The segmentation is useful, and it integrates well with our stack. Their team is responsive.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The new product demos feature is below industry standard.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're using it to highlight new features and now starting to experiment nudging users toward activation milestones, and. It improved feature adoption and hope it’s would help reduce time-to-value.

 ### 18. Extremely versatile with a huge variety of features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter T. | Growth Program Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I really appreciate the depth Chameleon offers from a product adoption standpoint. There are many capabilities that allow you to create pretty much native level looking experiences and additionally there are many intriguing features such as Interactive Demos or HelpBar that enable us to going one step above the regular customer engagement. Overall, creating common flows is very playful and intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

This might be due to our complexities and the way our product is designed but we have encountered situations where we had to be discovering occasional workarounds to be able to display experiences for our users the way we intended. On the other hand, the level of support we have been getting has been top notch from day 1.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Chameleon extensively to drive overal product adoption and collect user feedback. Additionally we rely heavily on Chameleon to drive conversions from free to paid plans

 ### 19. An invaluable tool for driving GTM and adoption.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miles R. | Head of Product, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It is critical to my team's success with new feature launches.

My team leverages Chameleon multiple times every week. It is invaluable for creating the right CTAs for the right audience. The interface is intuitive and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Understanding the new features when they get added can be a little confusing.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps us drive adoption of our platform.

 ### 20. Incredibly useful communication guidance tool for my customers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Francisco O. | Strategic Success Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The ability to launch tours with clear purpose and usefulness for my customers is by far the best part of using Chameleon. Clearly communicating changes, updates, whats new, and then SHOWING them visually, with guidance, is so beneficial.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I have yet to encounter a downside to using this tool.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My ability to use Cham to communicate with many customers at once helps me spread my reach in a useful and scalable way.

 ### 21. Marketing person's perspective

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah S. | Marketing Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I like the pop up banner and notifications I can use to inform users of updates or upcoming events.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I only use Chameleon once or twice a month and tend to forget where things are. That might be a reflection on the user interface and it's not quite intuitive nature.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon helps with customer communication and awareness by putting important info right in front of them as part of their daily workflow.

 ### 22. Easy to use, and we use for everything!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rowan R. | UX Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon is very easy to use overall, easy to integrate into the product and also easy to implement within the team. Whenever I have an issue, the support team is quick to help me, but the help page works in most cases so there is no need to contact support. We use Chameleon in many cases, and whenever we need help understanding which functionality we should use for the idea we have, the account manager helps us as well.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

At this point, I'm bothered by the TAGs management, since I can't delete TAGs with users emails, and also to make users part of a TAG takes a long time when you're dealing with a long list.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Chameleon mostly to deliver experiences that are not built into our product interface, to facilitate product adoption, and also for times when there is a need to notify customers about surplus in their plans.

 ### 23. Super user friendly, and extremely great support!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Isaac L. | Customer Success Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

They have been super reliable when requesting support from their team. Especially Max!

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Nothing seriously, it has the best mix of technical and non-technical features.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are starting to use it to reduce the time our team spends on actually meeting with clients.

 ### 24. Is this a bug or user problem? Usually both.

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Flexible, quick solution for delivering in-context messaging and prompts.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

While the experiences are relatively easy to configure, I often run into bugs and issues that I have to troubleshoot. This can be really frustrating and either give up or find a less than ideal workaround.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon helps us manage change with in-product messaging either before or as we're releasing. Our goal is to help our customers understand what changed and why and how they can benefit.

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> Ouch 😣 very sorry to hear this has been your experience.

1. If you're continually encountering bugs / user errors then that's super frustrating and I hear you. There may also be an underlying clash with your application that could be the source of multiple issues.

2. To tackle this we're doing a few things, including:

(a) Leveraging AI for better and more testing to prevent issues

(b) Changed our processes recently, including bug reporting and tracking; led by our new Product Lead (Mason) and Eng Manager (Felipe)

(c) Improving our self-serve resources; we're levelling-up our developer documentation, have worked on a new self-serve issue troubleshooting function and more

(d) Offering more auto-generated Experiences without needing to configure as much in the Builder (to reduce risk of user error)

(e) Taking a "zero bug" approach with our new product, Interactive Demos, which are a lot more straightforward

3. Regardless, that doesn't change your experience thus far, and I'd love to find a way to reset your experience and improve it going forward.

Maybe it'd helpful to do a call where in one "go" you can show me everything that's hard right now. I'll identify any quick wins (gaps in knowledge/understanding) and list all the things that are bugs, and commit to fixing them asap

Pls ping me on LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/in/agrawalpulkit/) or email me at pulkit at chameleon dot io (and without any guilt or embarrassment for leaving this review) 🙏

 ### 25. Chameleon Transformed Our User Onboarding and System Notifications for Users

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric R. | Senior Director, Customer Success, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Implementation for Chameleon was incredibly seamless, and we had our first tours and a feedback survey running in a matter of days. The strength of the platform is its versatility - we've been able to build from basic tooltips to complex multi-step product tours without having to craft custom code or use any developer time.

The WYSIWYG editor permits non-tech contributors to effortlessly craft and update tours, and has significantly reduced our development team workload. Integrating with our existing tech stack went smoothly, and the platform mixes well with our product analytics software to give us awesome insights into interaction and completion rate of tours.

The micro surveys feature has become an unexpected favourite for our product team, helping us gather real-time feedback from users at crucial moments in their journey.

The combination of out-of-the-box features and the option for deeper customization via CSS or HTML makes Chameleon stand out as a powerful, all-in-one solution.

The support has been terrific, and Rhi Roberts has taken such extraordinary care to ensure we get the most out of this platform.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The analytics dashboard, while functional, could be more intuitive and offer deeper insights. This is fine for us as we mainly stream Chameleon Data to our Product Analytics tool but its worth mentioning.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

New users were getting easily list in our product interface, leading to high dropout rates during onboarding and increasing burden in our customer success team. Users also weren't discovering or utilizing our full feature set, which meant it limited their product value realization and increased churn risk. Previously any change to in-app guidance required developer resources, which created bottlenecks and slowed our ability to respond to user needs.

 ### 26. Confusing product that lacks features

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The promise of Chameleon far exceeds what it does in reality. The best thing is their marketing, which admittedly is quite good. The problem though is if you are going to do that much work for marketing, your product needs to deliver. Unfortunately, Chameleon does not.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I hate writing a review like this and I don’t have an axe to grind, but I dislike almost everything about Chameleon after being a customer for what I feel is a long time for SaaS (just over 2 years). Their overall product is hard to use in practice, buggy in a lot of areas and insufficient in most. Compared to other products in this category they fall short in every way. I might not feel this way if they were much cheaper but they aren't. They price themselves at the premium end of the cost scale.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tried to use it to help user onboarding, messaging and activation. It was key for us to try to target new users that sign up, and how to activate them the best way to try to maximize their time to value of our product which would in turn help our ability to upgrade them to our paid subscriptions.

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> Hi, as one of the Chameleon co-founders, I'm super disappointed to hear we've failed to meet your expectations :-( I'm also surprised as this feedback caught us off guard -- I don't think we knew you were finding Chameleon buggy and insufficient or finding it hard to use. Of course we can improve the product but I wonder if we can give you value more quickly and directly by doing some of the heavy-lifting on your behalf -- if you do want to succeed then please drop me an email (pulkit @ chameleon dot io) or book time with me below and I'll be happy to chat and support. There's no judgement or retribution for a bad review so don't be afraid of that, and I hope you do get in touch, so that we can also be re-assured that this is a real review from a real customer :)

 ### 27. Simple and intuitive, all the right features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon was easy to implement and figure out right from the start. As our organization has grown and our needs have evolved, it's been a delight to see that Chameleon has nearly all the features we needed that we didn't know we would need when we started out. With the super easy-to-use interface we've been able to get multiple team members up to speed where everyone is an "expert" without having to invest a lot of time and effort. Once we got our templates figured out, it's been easy for anyone on the team to build on-brand surveys, tool tips, tours, etc. The price point and the feature set are a great match for our not-too-big company.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Sometimes it would be nice to have just a little more flexibility with the tools, but for the most part the ease of use outweighs the need for customization.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use this in our customer portal, so we use it from initial onboarding of customers (offering tours, training tips), to tool tips for reminders on how to use certain functions and features, to product and event announcements, to customer surveys. It's allowing us to build in a super flexible and nimble scaffold of support that the customer support and marketing teams can customize without having to go to the dev team to build and update these extras into our platform.

 ### 28. efficient enablement tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luke G. | Customer Success Manager, Market Research, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon allows us to quickly update users on exciting new features and changes within our platform, enabling them to quickly view short demo videos, notifications, or messages with key changes. It enables quick effective product changes to be delivered quickly to end users.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

honestly nothing so far, it has been a great resource as a user

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon allows our company to provide on platform tours and updates, which as a CSM allows me to focus on outreach and strategies

 ### 29. Great insights for our team!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon stands out from competitor with its clean and easy to use interface. We tried out a competitor but ultimately went with Chameleon due to its ease of use and more competitive price point. I like the way that it looks when it overlays on or website and how we can adjust without much trouble. The tooltips, tours and surveys are very helpful for us, and for our customers. I like that they're trying to incorporate AI into their tools - this is really important to us. It was really easy to integrate into our site, it took one of our devs a couple of hours and since then, we haven't had to use dev help at all to make the tool work, which is super helpful.

Update: after using Chameleon for more than a year, it continues to be helpful and an important part of our user experience. It is so nice to have a streamlined way to share new content and features with our users through tooltips, tours and announcements...but also to have our ongoing launcher where we can have on demand training and FAQs. We're excited to continue using this and improving our user experience and overall engagement with our product.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Sometimes the editor isn't quite as intuitive as I wish it was, but once I've gone through and done it a few times, it gets easier.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a lot of users from various places around the world and using something like Chameleon for easy self serve adoption is realy important to us. Instead of us having to do a lot of virtual training - our ultimate goal with Chameleon is for a seamless start for users to get started right away without having to wait for a training.

**Official Response from Sonia Schiau:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Chameleon! We're happy that you find our interface easy to use and happy to hear about your quick implementation. It's so great to hear that Chameleon has facilitated self-serve adoption and engagement with your global user base!

We understand the importance of an intuitive editor and we continuously work to enhance our Builder and its capabilities!

 ### 30. I had great experience using Chameleon. I have implemented tours, checklists, and surveys till now.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

They are constantly upgrading themselves, coming up with AI based solutions, and they are responsive on support.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Plan based restrictions. I don't want to upgrade if I just want to use one more checklist on my plan.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for onboarding our customers. We have used tours, checklists, and surveys. We plan to use many more functionalities going forward.

 ### 31. Easy to use and bristling with features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andy N. | Senior Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

As somebody continually exposed to new platforms and applications, it's rare to find one that's so quick to get up and running with, and where you can find pretty much everything you want without even having to refer to the documentation. Chameleon was this simple - within minutes it was possible to get to grips with all of the key basics, and every time I found myself thinking "I wonder if I can tweak this thing" - then lo and behold, yes you could! We haven't even begun to scratch the surface of what it can do (I'm looking forward to playing with Launchers) but already it's allowing us to dramatically improve the quality of in-platform help in our applications.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The only real annoyance with Chameleon - and something that's probably unavoidable - is the fact that sometimes the builder panels open in the "wrong" place. Maybe there could be an option to "dock" them on one side of the screen, like browser dev tools?

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're using Chameleon to (a) give new users a gentle introduction to our products and (b) to demonstrate how to use new product features. In the fullness of time, we'll probably expand this to provide full self-service onboarding for users.

 ### 32. Really love Chameleon's integrations, launchers, and Support team!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I love the integrations in Chameleon. It's great being able to really customize a user segment in Heap, and then pull the segment into Chameleon to use as a targeted segment for a tour. It really expands the power of Chameleon and hones my ability to target just the right user.

I also like the pre-configured quick buttons in the builder, like the automatic progress tracker and the delight animation. I also like the banner option where I can add an announcement at the top of the browser, and it moves the browser contents down rather than covering them.

Also, my experience with the support team was really great. We recently had an issue that we had screen shots of, but couldn't replicate. Max on Chameleon's support team did some impressive research and figured out what went wrong. I have had nothing but great experiences with Chameleon's support team. The set the bar very high.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I wish that I had a little more freedom to arrange elements horizontally within a guide. Sometimes it's ideal to have an image aligned next to some copy instead of above or below the copy. I'd also love to be able to adjust alignment and other design elements without having to use CSS; however, it's still doable with CSS, which is the most important thing for me.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Chameleon to quickly communicate product changes to customers, as well as help them quickly find KB articles and other helpful information to fast-track onboarding and product education. We find it's more effective than email and ensures that our customers receive important notifications about new features, upcoming maintenance, etc., that may affect them. They're also more likely to become successful using the product, which greatly improves a customer's time to value.

 ### 33. The best tool to keep our customers informed!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cameron P. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The ease of use and customization is key for us! Its our immediate go-to tool for getting announcements and information to our customers. The ability to easily create segments based on our users' attributes allows us to target exactly who we need to, when we need to.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I can't think of anything! The Chameleon team keeps us informed of feature updates and future developments which is greatly appreciated.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At a moments notice, we're able to get immediate updates to our users. Whether it be new features, areas of our product we're looking to drive adoption, or satisfaction surveys - Chameleon helps us achieve it all.

 ### 34. Connecting with our digital community!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** kristin s. | Vice President of Engagement and Educator Experiences, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Our organization loves using Chameleon to connect with our digital community. We use it to build onboarding tours, announce events, and publish new content partner announcements. The ease of use and implementation have allowed us to build tours, banners, and pop-up announcements consistently. Whenever we meet with our dedicated customer support team member, our questions are always answered and we walk away feeling confident and supported. They are always there to brainstorm with us for best use cases. Chameleon easily integrates with our product and our technical questions are always answered. We go into our dashboard weekly to monitor engagement and find the data to be easy to understand and use.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The only challenge we have is that there is part of our product that doesn't integrate with Chameleon so we lose a segment of our audience. However, the customer support and product teams are eager to continue working on a solution.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With rapid user growth and a limited internal team, we use Chameleon to automate our onboarding in a very customizable and connected way.

 ### 35. I wish I would have known about it earlier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abdul Kader L. | Product Development Lead, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It is incredibly easy to use and implement in the application. The best thing is once you integrate Chameleon in your application, it doesn't require any more code changes. You can design and publish banners, embeddable, tours, surveys etc. using Chameleon.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I have been using Chameleon for a couple of months not and there is nothing to dislike about it, really.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the challenges we had was how to provide in-app guidance and improve user onboarding for users to self-serve themselves. Chameleon offers this and much more in a way that allows product managers to independently work on improving user experience without any technical expertise.

 ### 36. Digital CS Leader using Chameleon

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

As a leader from a CS background and minimal knowledge of HTML, CSS, etc... I find Chameleon to be very no-code / low-code so far for my needs. I know there are more advanced use cases I may need that for but honestly it's all pretty intuitive. The ability to clone tours is super helpful and I find the integration from Amplitude and SFDC to give me the right data to form segments. My absolute favorite part is working with our CSM, Andrew. Since my first day joining my new role I've seen him as a true partner in helping me achieve success. Digital CS is a new role at our company and the ability to move quickly and have a true partner supporting me as has been invaluable. I also really am excited to try out Embeddables in our product.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

sometimes it feels a bit buggy and have had engineering ticket open for a while but just more of an inconvenience.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I haven't launched anything live, yet, within my role. However, I'm confident I'll be able to accelerate TTV in every stage of the customer journey thus leading to higher retention and expansion.

 ### 37. Useful tool with great support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It's easy to put together in-app messaging so our customers stay informed of new features which can help their day-to-day jobs. Chameleon support has been quick to respond when help was requested and they are always very friendly.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Showing more info on the analytics tab would be helpful instead of hiding it in a CSV file which I have to wait for in an email.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps us keep our customers up to date on new features we are adding to our product. Also helps guide them thru new products so they take off with the product quickly.

 ### 38. Effective and intuitive

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

As a designer, I like that it's easy to use, the builder works very well. I like the features and how I can organize my campaigns. In general my experience has been pretty positive.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Chameleon is a bit bumpy. Things seem a bit buggy.
For instance when you update something on the builder you might reload the page to make it work. Things that worked yesterday don't work today and the CSS writing is frustating.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onboarding - We're creating onboarding tours with very little code
Banners in app - we're allowing marketing managers to place PLG messages in the product

 ### 39. Awesome Customer Success team who takes feedback seriously

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley H. | VP of Customer Success, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The Chamelon team stands out above the rest. Our CSM, Andrew, has been an awesome resoruce for us and is very receptive to feedback. They truly care and its evident in all our interactions. I also have great respect for the way in which their CEO, Pulkit, is building a community around their product and bringing leaders together to share and ideate.
Chameleon also takes data security very seriously and shows that via their pursuit of SOC 2 and continuous compliance monitoring.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

With any product, there are sometimes bugs and issues, but the team takes feedback and works to address them.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Customer Education reports into my Customer Experience org so it is a core tool to our education motion.

 ### 40. Works really well out of the box, and there is a lot of room for customization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex N. | Founding Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon was very simple to set up -- it just worked auto-magically out of the box with a few lines of code. The builder experience was very intutitive as well compared to a lot of other similar platforms.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

There is not a lot of analytics inbuilt -- so you have to use an outside platform. This, however, lets you integrate analytics with your own paltform, so can be a good thing depending on how you look at it.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using it to show app tours to first-time users.

 ### 41. Chameleon surprised me with an immediate positive impact to our business.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordan Z. | Sr. Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon was straightforward to set up and has been a hassle-free experience for our team. With little training, we were confident in creating, publishing, testing, and measuring new customer experiences. The out-of-the-box analytics, testing, and AI features have impressed us too. Within the first two weeks of launching our first Chameleon experiences, we saw significant adoption gains on a new user offering. We're excited to continue to experiment and see what additional value we can get.

Finally, Nuno Morais, our Success Manager has been exceptional. The level of support, best practices, and expertise provided is a game changer. A joy true joy to work with.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

So far, nothing has stuck out to me as a "dislike". The one "issue" we had revolved around an integration setting related to PII data and my success manager took our feedback in earnest. Even following up without me inquiring.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows our growth and product teams to create, test, and measure meaningful user experiences without requiring engineering. The speed and flexibility of Chameleon has already assisted us in boosting new feature adoption, announce site maintenance, and gather actionable satisfaction data from our users.

 ### 42. Great responsive team and full functionality

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Helped us set up and offer fast, and effective support. Customizable designs.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Our HTML classes dynamically change overtime so we need to set us custom Chameleon IDs on all elements to make sure nothing breaks

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping raise awarenss of new features, on demand education

 ### 43. Great piece of software, really easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Easy to use, good designs, great service

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Some of the usage could be a little more intuitive but constanlty updating and improving

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Makes our elearns more interactive and streamline our suite of elearnings

 ### 44. Feedback on URL sslection

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Translation and Localization | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It's great that you can create the theme based on the design system; you have to have a similar look and feel to the actual product.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Constant change of URL. Limitations on selecting the URL for the Embeddables, and the glitch I faced during my experience with creating the Launcher.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps to improve the user experience on our platform and be useful for them to be able to be adapt easily and learn what they need to know about our product.

 ### 45. Game-changing product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Petros P. | Senior Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It's so easy to use and has really helped make a step-change to our customer feedback, analysis, and onboarding. Great customer support too; the CS team meet with our team frequently to help us achieve our goals.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

We had some issues initially embedding it with one of our products, but no downsides once those were overcome.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Benchmarking and measuring our NPS. Self-service / personalised onboarding.

 ### 46. Great implementation and onboarding experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon has many features and functions out-of-the-box that our previous tools didn't offer. As a result, I have been able to quickly implement and launch feedback surveys in the tool. Our CSM and engineering partner were extremely helpful and available to help with our questions. Everything felt smooth and we never felt left alone to figure things out! I really appreciate how easily changes can be made, and as an admin, it's clear to see what impact that change might make (without fear of pulling the trigger!).

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Chameleon is still limited in some features and functionalities, but I feel confident that over time their team will implement these small changes (eg, data labels on microsurvey data charts).

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a way to gather in-app feedback from users to help us identify issues and where we are doing well. It also allows us to have an on-going metric to track over time and compare how different product areas are performing. Most importantly, we needed a tool that could let us do this efficiently without having to knock on our developer's door every time we needed to make a change or launch a new survey.

**Official Response from Sonia Schiau:**

> We're thrilled that you had a great implementation and onboarding experience with Chameleon and! It's fantastic to hear that you could pull the trigger with no fear :)

Thank you for your feedback, we continue to improve our products and our Dashboard as well as our reporting!

 ### 47. Fully customizable in-app guidance

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I like that every type of in-app experience through Chameleon is entirely customizable, from how it looks to how the buttons function to where it's anchored or launched from our product. It's extremely flexible and allows us to create multiple "sets" of templates and guides that work in different locations in our platform. Their team is also incredibly supportive and responsive.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

There are a few minor things that I would like to work on in a better way but don't, which are partially how our product was built and partially a limitation in how Chameleon can function. For example, demos don't work across iFrames, and I wish launchers could connect with one another. It sounds like their product team is working on some of these, though.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon has been incredibly helping in getting users support right where they are working. We also use it to gather feedback from our customers.

 ### 48. Exactly what I've been looking for | Product Marketing + Support Background

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeffrey C. | Director of Brand & Product Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

To make it simple, Chameleon is powerful and easy to use. And that's important because you want it to be simple for your customers to experience, and that all starts with the experience as the end-user.

Setting up Chameleon was one of the most seamless integrations I've experienced. We just needed to connect Segment, and we were up and running in our buildout of tours, announcements, surveys, and more.

What excites me about Chameleon is the flexibility to solve new problems and the innovation the team continues to drive. When you look at similar tools in the space, it likely starts and ends with some form of product tours. But with Chameleon, it's clear their vision for the future is more than that, but rather, a layer on top of your product experiences to drive better customer outcomes.

An area where this differentiator has shined was with the Helpbar feature Chameleon was building. While this feature wasn't available when we first started with Chameleon, seeing it in our sales pitch was a clear differentiator in how they thought of building out their product offering.

The Helpbar has exceeded our expectations by surfacing our help center content within our product and bringing forward our product education materials like videos, user-submitted templates, blog posts, webinars and more. Plus, with the AI, our customers can ask questions and get answers without leaving the product or interacting with anyone.

Our customers have also been pleased with the impact of our Chameleon offering. It has increased awareness of new features and thus greater product adoption, while also helping educate new users of existing customers.

The Chameleon support team continues to be an excellent partner. They are quick to provide updates on any issues and typically fix known issues pretty quickly!

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

An area where I'd love to see more from Chameleon is better in-product reporting. The information is there, but you need to know what you're doing with it and get it into other tools. At the end of the day, you're probably going to do that anyways, but when I just need some high-level insights, that would be beneficial.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon is helping us solve the need for creating greater self-service within our product. From increasing feature adoption and creating product awareness to surfacing help content to help customers better understand what is happening, Chameleon helps us bring it all together via a single tool.

**Official Response from Sonia Schiau:**

> Thank you Jeff, for such a thoughtful and detailed review! It's great to hear that Chameleon has been a powerful and easy-to-use tool for your team, and that it’s helping you drive real impact for your customers. We’re particularly excited to hear about the flexibility and innovation you’ve mentioned—delivering a dynamic product experience that evolves with your needs is exactly what we strive for.

Also, appreciate the feedback on reporting. We're actively working to improve, and we hope to make Chameleon data more actionable!

Thanks again for sharing your experience 🙏 We're looking forward to continuing our partnership and delivering more features that make a difference.

There is a lot of complexity associated with building and publishign assets. At times it can be confusing.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**
