## Chameleon Reviews
  ### 1. Good product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The NPS microsurvey has been useful and the walk throughs. Customer suport has been very good and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Data is stored in the US so we are not able to store some personal data that we would like to use. This would be possible if stored in the UK or EU.
Some limitations on how it is used and we have had some issues and teething problems

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moving our guidance away from a library and into the app

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> We do store data in the US, and offer DPAs to enable GDPR-compliant transfers. We're also happy to talk with your security team to help them comfortable in sharing whatever personal data you'd like to with Chameleon; while we don't require any personally identifiable data to be effective, many Chameleon customers do send this kind of data. However if that's not feasible, you can conduct your analysis in your existing tools and we can help ensure all Chameleon data is integrated with/exported to your systems and tools of record (in the UK/EU) via our native integrations or APIs. Let us know if we can help with that!

  ### 2. Easy to use but a bit expensive

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Easy to use, gives you a lot of possibilities for user onboarding

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Chameleon is a bit pricy, especially because we are not getting the best of it at this moment.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our product have a difficult learning curve, we are using chameleon to try to turn it easier to learn

  ### 3. A time saver

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Diogo C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Super easy to use and it was easy to integrate in our platform. It saves a lot of time to our support team and empowers our PMs to create their own tours and pushing new features.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The UI and UX stills feels a bit outdated at times

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves adding quick maintenance messages, launching new features, NPS score etc.

  ### 4. Great for testing features

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Ease of use to setup tours and launchers.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Gets complicated in terms of the overload of analytics and data it displays.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to announce new features to customers easily.

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> hi there, would love to learn more about what was complicated! We recently shipped an update that made our analytics more visual (a map of flows for users) and will soon be making it easier to show you exactly which user took which action. I'd love to make further improvements based on your feedback, especially because of your overall rating!

  ### 5. Very helpful in providing your users with necessary information for onboarding.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Everything saves automatically, with many options to implement.
Customer support is easy to access and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

It can be tricky to get exactly what you want without a lot of trial and error.
Quite a few obvious things are missing i.e. having multiple questions in a microsurvey (currently having to create different microsurveys and link them).

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onboarding onto our product was pretty much non-existent without domain help, creating a self-service process.

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> hey, glad you like the options and support, and I'm sorry that you've had to go through so much trial and error! If there are any particular aspects of the product that are extra confusing, I'd love to know so we can prioritize improving them.

On the topic of multiple Qs in Microsurveys this is my fault and I'll explain: over time users get weary of getting asked lots of questions -- it's one of the reasons that online surveys have terrible clickthrough and completion rates. So in our attempt to create a systemic advantage for long-term response rates we restricted Microsurveys to be a single question.. with the knowledge that you can run multiple at different times or strung together if really needed.

But the good news is that we're currently undertaking some work to make the second input (currently "Comments") much more flexible so you'll get 2-3 questions available in a Microsurvey. Beyond that it won't really be a "micro"survey so I hope that compromise works for you!

Happy to chat more including on a live call if you like :)

  ### 11. Good in-product comms plaatform

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Visialization of all the campaigns to aoid overcrowd the platfor

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The trou builder is a bit stiff, and not very intuitive but after a couple fo tries it gets better

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Get customer intelligence, proof of concept, cross revenue campaigns

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> Thanks for appreciating how we enable you to visualize your campaigns! Building UX without code is relatively new, so we're still trying to find ways to make our Builder seamless -- providing the depth of customization options folks want, without becoming overwhelming. We've been continually making improvements to our dashboard and Builder's UI over the last months and years, but always love collecting any specific feedback -- are there any aspects you found confusing that we should review?

  ### 12. Good for general user notifications

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Easy to setup banner notifications for your users

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Lack of control over getting styling to match the brand. This might just be a subscription level limitation.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Really just using it for notifications about ongoing webinars and major changes to our application.

**Official Response from Pulkit Agrawal:**

> Hey, we'd love to help support you ensuring your styles match your brand! We try to pull default colors to pre-set your brand, but you can fine tune things like colors (e.g. for background, buttons, links etc.) or padding/text spacing etc. from the Styling page in your dashboard. You can also use your exact product font, and custom CSS is available on all plans. You can also create Templates with different styles to use in different cases. We haven't heard this "lack of control over styling" feedback much recently so I'd love to dig in and help resolve or learn and improve our product!

  ### 13. Chameleon Review

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

Easy to use product that incentivizes people to give their opinion

We're using Chameleon to collect NPS scores

  ### 14. Onboard customers with Chameleon

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It's a powerful software and we could create in-app tours to onboard customers.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Probably because it's powerful, figuring out how to best implement what we have in mind was mind-boggling.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onboard customers

**Official Response from Sonia Schiau:**

> We're glad to hear that you find Chameleon to be a powerful tool to drive your onboarding!

We're sorry to hear you found it challenging to implement your use case, but we're here to support you every step of the way if you need more assistance. We're sure once you get used to Chameleon, you will find it easier and easier to tackle new use cases! Please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer support team if you need more help!

  ### 15. It's easy to use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

You can use the tool easily without reliance on dev. We have rolled out quick experiments that were straight forward and easy to set up meaning dev resources could be spent elsewhere.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The UX isn't the best when creating campaigns so it can be awkward when needing to make a change across all tiles.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to spend dev resource on other complex areas.

  ### 16. Very cool tool for rapidly building out targeted customer experiences

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike M. | Director, UX, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon runs in top of all the different customer an internal facing platforms we operate. This means we can develop and rest rapidly without severely draining our software team resources.

The Chameleon platform is well executed, logical and easy use even for teams new to onboarding and CX develoment.

The available tools make it easy to develop and deploy onboarding and value messaging, product and feature training, and a variety of other marketing and system messages.

Product integrations including SalesForce and Heap have made it very easy to segment customers and track performer beyond the built in basic campaign metrics.

And lastly, I'll say I've had nothing but great interactions with the Chamelon team as we've moved from a Starter account to a more robust Growth plan in a very short time.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Campaign management is a little less structured than we're used to with other tools. We've built a lot of experiences and as the list grows we need to adapt to ensure we don't loose track of campaigns and stack too many things for our users.

Some campaign setting such as start and end dates can't be programmed from external metadata using the dashboard. (Or maybe we haven't figured out how to do that yet)

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon is helping us deploy tattered marketing, renewal messaging, onboarding and feature training.

Because it works on top of our platforms without (much) software team effort, we can build and deploy more quickly at a marketing cadence.

  ### 17. Intuitive, Innovative and Code-free Tool for Customer Engagement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nishita K. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon offers a good variety of experiences that can be customized, and the final output blends right into our customer interface. We like that they keep launching innovative features like the help bar and help menu, and we find the Chameleon UI intuitive. The customer success managers are very supportive, prompt, and knowledgeable.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Data analytics can be improved to measure events at a unique user level (in a privacy-centric manner) and not based on cohorts. It would also be helpful to know the time taken to complete a tour or checklist.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Chameleon to build customer engagement and product adoption features for our customer interface. We like the flexibility and stability of launching experiences without coding. It has reduced our dependency on engineering teams. The tours, checklists, and tooltips have helped us improve the onboarding experience for our end users. We will use these features to drive product adoption in the upcoming quarters.

  ### 18. Using Chameleon in our Application

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Destry G. | Director of Product Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon was a good choice for our company because it allowed us to prove the value of in-app guidance, tooltips, and surveys to our business stakeholders. We chose to initially pilot the solution on a new application that was being built and then later applied some of our learnings to our primary application. We have seen an increase in feature adoption and fewer calls to our support desk by proactively training users about tricky UI/UX.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Chameleon's help center was very poor when we initially started using it. To overcome that, they provided a lot of 1:1 support during our onboarding. I am very pleased by the help that has been provided throughout the past 9 months that we have been using Chameleon. Although I don't use help very much now that we're up and running, they have improved their help documentation a lot since we first started using the application.

The biggest drawback that I've seen with chameleon is that we use a lot of CSS selectors to get the proper element and in some circumstances write JS code to get the desired behavior. This results in us going to the dev team semi-regularly (probably 20% of the time). I have not used any other tools like this to compare with so it may be normal.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Initially, we decided to use the platform to help with customer self-service so that we could take the burden off of our support team. Additionally, we have found a few circumstances to be able to utilize Chameleon in non-traditional ways to solve temporary needs such as showing a popup to certain users that prevent them from accessing a feature they shouldn't have access to or giving warnings to users prior to completing an event.

Additionally, we wanted a tool that would seamlessly integrate with our analytics solutions (heap) which this did nicely. With the integration, we are able to use a central tool for customer segmentation and reporting rather than performing the same segmentation in both tools and then combining reports from each tool.

  ### 19. Great tool for engaging with customers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamie G. | Product Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Makes onboarding new customers easy and efficient. Ease of use is great but I also enjoy being able to use my own CSS to spice things up. Overall very good investment.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The builder can be a bit clunky at times. Also, once inside the builder, moving between different tours is not super intuitive. Once you get the hang of it, it's not bad, but the user experience could be improved there.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to scale onboarding for a large number of users, and also gives us tools to engage with users where they're most likely to respond vs. using traditional means like email.

  ### 20. Saving hours on developer time

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard D. | Marketing specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The way how we use Chameleon saves our developer hours on neverending text changes, creating tooltips or improving on product adoption. It is quite intuitive to set up and use from the get go. It has great segmentation that can be really powerfull

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The Chameleon's new UI is harder to use(a lot of clicking) and there can be smaller bugs here and there. Also, this is not necessarily Chameon's issue, but regarding tours&product adoption, it is very hard to create an experience, that really helps users getting to understand our product.
However any of these issues are not showstoppers. Chameleon is still very great tool

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Product adoption and explaining some parts of our product which are really hard to use. This tool is easy to use and let's more junior people to improve stuff on our FE.

  ### 21. Great tool for guiding customers through new features in our platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tamara M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Easy to use, nice features to call out new product announcements

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I wish I could 'beta' test previews of tours with a colleague. More collaboration would be nice.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sharing information about new product features, improves customer adoption and perceived product value

  ### 22. Lots of features but difficult to learn

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelsey H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon has a lot of helpful tools. I like that we can do quick NPS surveys with the microsurvey tool. We're able to customize tours to match our product. It seems like your team has worked with us to figure out customizations and workarounds to meet our needs.
The options for button actions are really handy

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The UI itself is difficult to learn. There are hidden actions or language that is unintuitive on most pages. One example - It took me probably 20 minutes to figure out how to turn rate limiting off - our tour names can be long sometimes, so the trash can icon was out of frame to the right and the left-right scroll bar was out of frame at the bottom of my screen.

When the tours are displayed, there doesn't seem to be a uniform set of rules. They're alphabetized on the rate limiting page, but organized by priority on the tours page. We also have a ton of old tours that have been unpublished but they still show up in the lists. I wish those were filtered to a second tab. Creating custom audiences could be streamlined as well.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our user base is older than the average tech user, so launching new features can be really difficult. Chameleon helps us train them on new features and cut down on support calls. We also use Chameleon to generate feedback and user input on new features or improvements. Having highly customizable audiences helps us hone in on the insights we need.

  ### 23. It´s easy to use, but need to improvent some basics funcionality related to micro-surveys.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thamires L. | UX Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

One of the best things on Chameleon it´s the Chameleon builder extension, wich is easy to use and config the rules for show tutorials experiences and micro-surveys
Beyond that I learn a lot about trigger and rules to config experiences.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The SLA for support it´s to slow, and doesn´t have more features to create customized surveys, wich is limited the scope of micro-surveys. Generally, you just create micro-survey with 2 steps. Now we have other problems wich is the historic related to changes made by users, for more safe management of tools.

**Recommendations to others considering Chameleon:**

Attention if you want to need surveys with a scope of questionnaire (with more that 3 questions)

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Create CSAT and NPS surveys, to measure in the context of user interface.
To guidance users about new features that we release on product
To explain some specific changes on interface (alerts, tours)

  ### 24. Chameleon for in-app product tours

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patrick B. | Product Management Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It's got a reasonably easy UI to use and can quickly implement "tests" that can eventually be replaced by hardcoded tour if they prove to be successful.

It would be great to have a tool that covers in-app & emails all in one.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Element based display conditionals could be stronger. Currently you can only use display "if present" for an element instead of "is not present" which is a generally more solid criteria.

The reporting is not great and "goal setting" is not particularly effective.

The builder portion of the software can be buggy at times making it difficult to edit in-apps confidently.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It can help with product tours and self-serve tours for users discovering the product. It's great for running sales given the targeting does not have to be very specific.

  ### 25. We are using Chameleon for the past 6 months and see the impact

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Avi Z. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon has many advantages, but what I like the most is that the team at Chameleon is committed to assisting their client in producing real value out of Chameleon.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Chameleon needs to include the ability to work on several environments simultaneously (staging & Production) without mixing the analytical data of the environments. As a workaround, we are duplicating the experience before launching to Production.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon is part of our supporting array. We use chameleon to release announcements and guided walkthroughs of the platform to help users onboard and expose new features. In addition, the walkthroughs library we created is accessible to the customer at any time as part of our knowledge base.

  ### 26. Chameleon review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Douglas A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

- Intuitive interface
- Client segmentation
- Provides a wonderful and pleasant experience for customers

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I need to know how to code and program, like google dev tools
Chameleon does not have a log of changes in the platform

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon guides the user in their first contact with the platform and offers checklists that deepen the user's knowledge. In addition, we implement a/b tests in our experiences.

  ### 27. Meets the needs we had relative to some other competitors

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

They were willing to work with us on their DPA and Terms so we could satisfy our legal requirements.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Relative to other DAPs still seems to be under-developed in some areas, notably injecting HTML beyond just tooltips.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps our customers find our product a-ha moments faster, and informs them when we have changes in the product.

  ### 28. Awesome solution, but takes some effort to setup

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucas O. | SDR, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Highly customizable product tours and in-app messages. Great segmentation tool. Activity log.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

It takes some coding effort to set up triggers and make sure all properties are being brought to Chameleon form other solutions.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Create custom onboarding experiences for different use cases.

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I love how easy it is to collect feedback from customers and staff.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I find it hard to edit after I'm done creating.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick feedback, easy to use system.

  ### 30. Great step-by-step guide for Desktop product tours

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mila J. | Product Marketer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It gives you the ability to create target audiences, it's very intuitive to use it and it provides a variety of options (tours, marketing messages, surveys, etc)

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I'd say if it could be optimized for mobile users that'd be great too!

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to build step-by-step product guides within our platform. It's easily integrated with many tools such as Slack, Amplitude etc

  ### 31. Chameleon Experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Able to create our own branded experience with templates and CSS.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I wish there was more integration with other platforms.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Clients are benefiting from getting fewer emails but being more informed.

  ### 32. Help yourself help your users!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon has been a great tool for our team to use as we have rolled out a new online payroll portal for New Zealand schools.
It's easy to use and has allowed us to quickly create and publish help and communication material within our portal, without the need to go through lengthy technical code changes. Published help can also be easily changed or removed.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

There is limited reporting and dashboarding functionality within Chameleon currently.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon allows us to provide inline user help to support our users within our online portal. Training and upskilling for our users is so much easier with the inbuilt help and guidance we can give them using Chameleon Tooltips.
We are able to use Chameleon Tours to target our users while they are in the portal and show them new features and enhancements. Chameleon also enables us to let our users know about targeted key information just in time, when they are already focused on payroll tasks, so it can help to simplify a sometimes complex task.

  ### 33. Helpful for offering users guidance without any dev intervention

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikki D. | UX Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I love the variety of formats we can build in Chameleon, from interactive tooltips to progressive tours and launchers! It's also really easy to the track performance of each of these and adjust accordingly.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The interface still feels quite clunky whenever I'm in build mode. For instance, I don't like that I have to use markdown and CSS when formatting text instead of having an inline styling menu to select from. Then there's also the issue of surveys or tour steps appearing where they're not supposed to, apparently mistaking an element in another page for the anchor.

**Recommendations to others considering Chameleon:**

This is a great tool to try out if you don't have a team of developers dedicated to onboarding and marketing efforts alone. My advice is to still start planning out the flow in a design software like Figma instead of jumping straight into Chameleon's interface!

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's great that the developers can focus on building unreleased features while the product managers and growth designers (aka. me) can already insert nudges towards newly released stuff—all without code using Chameleon.

  ### 34. Good tool out there for setting up walkthroughs easy and fast!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abhinav W. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Click and deploy tour feature using chrome plugin.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Can't select multiple elements at once or modify the selection area of one element on the page

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us deploy product adoption tours in minutes

  ### 35. Outstanding Customer Support!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Personally, the number one reason I like Chameleon is getting to work with Victoria, our Customer Success Manager. She takes time out of her day to send me really clear, easy-to-understand directions to get the most out of Chameleon. She is extremely patient which is helpful for someone who is not a designer but, needs to get walkthroughs running on our platform. Chameleon is a great alternative for those teams who need to move quickly but, don't have a ton of design resources as fairly easy (once you understand how the platform works) to get tours set up in your application's native enviroment. Honestly though, if it wasn't for Victoria, I'm not sure I'd be using the product well enough at all.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

It's not the most intuitive platform so while I love getting to work with our CSM, it's clear that without her help I would be fairly lost on how to get the most out of Chameleon. Another issue I've run into is that some of the copy is a bit confusing on how to actually interact with the elements that Chameleon provides which sometimes leaves me feeling frustrated. With that being said though, their team is super responsive (CS, Support, Leadership) so I really don't have a huge complaint here!

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving many issues with Chameleon currently across a number of teams within our organization, namely our Product, Customer Success, and Marketing teams. We all are using the platform for different reasons but, all under the heading of engaging customers in a meaningful way. For the Customer Success team, I am working to add walkthroughs for our customers so they can be guided through our platform whereas the Product team uses it for NPS surveys as well as to announce new features!

  ### 36. Decent for microsurveys

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I can quickly get a microsurvey out to a targeted audience—or field it to folks who have taken a certain on-site action. This makes it great for gathering quick feedback from our customers about specific parts of our product.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

There is limited functionality in terms of what you can do with the surveys. So, for example, I'm not able to force responses (and end up with a lot of blank non-responses in my results) for example. This makes it hard to track response rate and know exactly when I think it's time to close the microsurvey.

**Recommendations to others considering Chameleon:**

Figure out how you're going to use it and ask for a trial because it's very very expensive considering what it delivers on.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can quickly get a microsurvey out to a targeted audience—or field it to folks who have taken a certain on-site action. This makes it great for gathering quick feedback from our customers about specific parts of our product.

  ### 37. Simple UX, complex data.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon N. | Onboarding Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Using Chameleon on the front-end to create surveys, tours, and tool-tips is quite easy and intuitive. The stepper and contextual items are clear and I am generally able to make the kind of customer experience I want.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Setting up the segments can be quite tricky and how you might set up the segments might be beyond someone who is not working as directly with the software data.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon has made it fairly easy for me to devise customer experiences that inform them of new features and receive feedback on product launches. It allows a direct channel to our customers at the moment the experience is most relevant.

  ### 38. A good product that has the potential to become great

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hemanshu R. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The product is straightforward to use and has an intuitive UI that shortens the learning curve drastically. In addition to this, the base plan has most of the features that an enterprise/organization would need to kickstart its product experience enrichment journey. Once comfortable, migration to pro plan is easy and seamless. The support team is quite helpful when you come across issues and one of the better parts of their support is that they also guide you on best practices rather than sticking only to traditional support models.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The product has the potential to be great. However, it misses out on some of the essential things that I (and I believe most users) would expect from such a platform. Login options, for example, are restricted to Google and a magic link that is sent to your mail ID, which then you have to click and login. This login method is not very smooth, in my opinion. Also, one of my biggest qualms with Chameleon is their lack of analytics. They do have the most basic analytics; however, when you want to drill down on data, the feature is not there. Credit to the Chameleon team for sharing Pivot schemas for getting data insights in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets; but, this again lacks granular insights, which we are looking for as an organization.

**Recommendations to others considering Chameleon:**

Chameleon pretty much nails the basics in product experience enhancements. However, one thing it lacks is support for HTML formatted text in Product Tours. The aforementioned limitation is something users should consider before designing the product tour. Some of the other products in the same category - albeight costlier - do offer some advanced features that can be handy in certain scenarios.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our product is a comprehensive automation platform that enterprises can use to automate various scenarios using various technologies. The trade-off of having such a product is that the UI and product, in general, can be a bit overwhelming for new users. If I have to put it in simple words, the problem I am trying to solve with Chameleon is, "Where do I go from here? What do I do next?" scenario. We are currently using the Product Tour feature from Chameleon, which is targeted towards helping users understand how to get started with the platform. We can see marginal growth in terms of goals that we have set and currently think that we may achieve better growth by utilizing more features of the Chameleon platform.

  ### 39. It ain't perfect but it's pretty good for being codeless

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Henry J. | T, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

I can add banners to notify customers of new features or warn them about issues without having to work with an engineer.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

It can sometimes be tricky to get the system to consistently pick the correct element on a page.

**Recommendations to others considering Chameleon:**

For simple tours and notifications, it saves a ton of time and effort. If it is something complex and requires a great deal of integration to your product, you will still want to work with your engineering team.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Chameleon a ton to point out new features to users and to walk them through how they work. I have also made a chameleon in 5 minutes to warn users of mail delays in our payment processing product.

  ### 40. A solid platform

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It consolidates a few popular product adoption features into one platform, which is nice. I have to go fewer places to build some of these experiences. That time-saving goes a long way.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

It's not the easiest to integrate and troubleshoot. The chrome extension to review and edit modals can be finnicky.

**Recommendations to others considering Chameleon:**

Consider the costs of straddling multiple tools vs investing one platform that can do more for you.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm trying to help users adopt new features within our app. It's been helpful as we scale, since we can't talk to every user 1:1.

  ### 41. Quite a steep learning curve but the customer service is great.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The customer service at Chameleon is fantastic. They always respond very quickly and are always very quick to figure out the issue and help me find a solution to my problem. I also like the variety of options - you can create anything from banners to lightbox tooltips to surveys that collect user data. Once you've got your head round the page targeting (via URL or dependent upon elements visible on the page), you can target content very cleverly.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I didn't enjoy the steep learning curve. I thought the software wasn't particularly intuitive, so it took a while to get my head around.
I also dislike the fact that tours sometimes show inconsistently - sometimes you attach a tour to a particular element with very specific ID rules, and it still appears on the wrong one. Sometimes bugs take a little while to fix, but the customer team is good at keeping us updated.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving the issue of users getting confused with our software, eliminating bottlenecks by clarifying certain elements or new features.

  ### 42. One of the best tool for onboarding & growth experiments

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aneesh A. | senior product manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

1. Customizations on the modals are super cool and user-friendly.
2. Ability to put time-delays on our user sessions is an essential feature.
3. User segment creation based on attributes sent via segment is also quite robust.
4. Multiple survey types such as NPS etc works quite seamlessly with chameleon.
5. UI-UX of the chameleon editor works like a charm along side the dashboard so there's no back & forth btw 2 products.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

1. Sometimes, tours don't trigger based on specified user segments.
2. Searching for tours in the list of tours is a catch.
3. Breaking of the product UI in some edge cases.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Onboarding
2. Growth experiments
3. User product adoption

  ### 43. So far so good - I've had to reach out to Chameleon Support a few times for some clarification

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It's very simple to learn how to set up tours/surveys.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

I wish there was more flexibility with styling without needing to use CSS. The Custom CSS can also be complicated to implement at times. Additionally, I wish there was more user data available with the Chameleon platform without having to export a csv.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using the Chameleon survey to conduct a CSAT survey, which we do not want to build/develop ourselves. Additionally, we most commonly use the tours to highlight new feature releases without our platform.

  ### 44. Biz analyst

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It's super easy to test and get immediate results.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

It kind of jacks with our logging and doesn't work with segment super well

**Recommendations to others considering Chameleon:**

na

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've ran tests and seen lifts in user onboarding.

  ### 45. Efficient little tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

We were able to put together an onboarding in just a few steps, instantly improving some areas of our website. We've tried another tool recently and it fell short in terms of customising.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Some of the customising options fell short, essentially requiring you to add some CSS when it should have quickly be done via a clean UI interface. Not an issue generally but some of these were quite basic features.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Spent ages thinking about putting together an onboarding flow , which was quickly fixed by using Chameleon.

  ### 46. Good product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

It integrates with Hubspot, which is excellent. Helped us to improve the customer journey through our app.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Chameleon is a bit clunky at times, to be expected, and support is quite helpful.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chameleon has helped us with onboarding users onto our product, guiding them through what they need to know.

  ### 47. Simple and Intuitive tool builder for fast implementation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Easy step by step guidance and an intuitive builder.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Sometimes not as clear as it could be for whether you are able to make tweaks without messing up anything that is live.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

App explanations and user journeys. Just was a very quick way to produce tours to showcase full features to current and new users

  ### 48. Great self-serve tool for continual optimisation of onboarding and adoption.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Release free aspect of Chameleon enables UX and Content functions to hone in on providing the optimal experience for users.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Sometimes the preview UI can be clunky and unpredictable. Some more granular control out of the box would also be useful for less code adept.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Optimisation of onboarding, adoption and activation in product. Being able to continually monitor, test, and refine journeys and content.

  ### 49. So far I have just been in the playground and it is exactly what we are looking for

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

The ability to efficiently connect with our customers

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

Haven't seen anything thus far that I don't like

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onboarding our customers and casting a much greater net to their end users

  ### 50. Great features, Great price, excellent support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Chameleon?**

Chameleon makes it easy to add interactions and instructions to our applications without engaging our development team. The Chameleon team is also incredibly receptive. They seem to care about our experience with their product and frequently ask for feedback to improve it. Their integration support has been incredibly helpful for our development team. They are easily one of the best vendor relationships I have.

**What do you dislike about Chameleon?**

The Chameleon editor interface doesn't always work well, especially with dynamic data on the page. Our operations team has to get a little creative with how they use the tools in order to accomplish our goals.

**What problems is Chameleon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're primarily using Chameleon to tour new features. We're also using the launcher product to integrate with our help center. We've been able to track an increase in traffic to our help center from our application since we started using the launcher. Our customers frequently provide positive feedback on the tours.
