What do you like best about Chamaileon?

How detailed I can get with customizing my content. I love how intuitive the interface is! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Chamaileon?

The Chamaileon team is constantly innovating and updating the product. This is awesome but sometimes a little inconvenient if you're trying to crank out a quick project after an update. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Design professionally-looking email templates"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Chamaileon?

Team collaboration and integrations are excellent functionalities. The ability to work around the prebuilt email templates to simplify your work. It is easy to use and it creates supreme quality responsive email HTML. Also, you can import your own HTML template and edit it accordingly to your needs, the ability to store email templates in a personal account for further use. You can just add your images, text and it’s ready to download or export. One can quickly design emails with the flexible drag-n-drop editor or re-brand any of the pre-built templates from the template library. Chamaileon is also a cloud-based app and is able to be integrated with tools like MailChimp and Sendy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Chamaileon?

Some time to learn all the features that do not come naturally if you are not used to the tool. It does seem there are better options if you are a Gmail user. Not having an open Library of Free Images to Use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Gergely Nagy of Chamaileon

Hey Paulo,

Many thanks for giving this review!

Special thanks for mentioning the email HTML import function, that's a feature we are really proud of.

I have great news for you! We have added Pexels' photo library to Chamaileon, you can search from its million of images and add them to your email designs, for free.

I understand you like Gmail (me too!) and try to compare tools to its simple and sleek interface but I feel it's not comparable to Chamaileon in its features.

Gmail is a great email inbox to receive, reply, and send personal (looking) emails. While Chamaileon is a design and productivity tool for complex email designs and collaboration on them. We try our best to create a great UX, for example in 2021 August we released a user interface revamp to our email editor screen to make it easier to use for users who edit email content a lot but design new blocks less.

"Great email design program for beginners or people that can't pay a lot of money."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Chamaileon?

It is simple and easy to use. Exporting the HTML is easy. It lets you create clean designs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Chamaileon?

It leaves a lot of spaces between blocks and sections, even without any margins or anything. Your emails will look a lot longer than they actually are because of that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Chamaileon?

Chamaileon is easy to use - even if you aren't a designer Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Chamaileon?

I wish it were a bit more flexible concerning nested tables Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Gergely Nagy of Chamaileon

I'm glad Chamaileon helps with your event promotion goals!

About nested tables:

We call them columns and those are the most flexible table building pieces you can imagine in Visual email builders.

When you add columns next to each other, they automatically became a multi-column element. You can add more columns (no limits), remove columns freely and you can nest these multi-column elements for evergoing levels. You can also change any column's width one by one, having custom, flexible structures while you can easily make them equal too.

Let's give it a try next time you edit an email design in Chamaileon.

"Easy-to-use Templates, Some Technical Loopholes"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Chamaileon?

The existing templates are the most useful. We are able to search by tag and look for a template that best meets and fits our needs for the output (e.g. a newsletter, a web page, etc.)

The drag-and-drop building feature is probably the biggest merit of the platform, and allows for ease of newsletter structuring, curation, and duplication.

Visual quality and styling customization are excellent - plenty of fonts, detailed customizations for colors, paddings/margins, and the visual quality is great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Chamaileon?

There are a couple pain points while using Chamaileon. First, the Mobile version of templates does not translate well from the original template as seen on Desktop.

It would be effective to be able to translate the two as close as possible, or at least allow for a Mobile + Desktop adaptable editing view.

When creating links in the email or newsletter, the Protocol <other> does not function - it breaks.

Another bug that seems to appear often is broken flows when creating a new template or e-mail. Several times, when creating a "new email" we'll jump back to the Workspace and not the email or template. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
