## About CFEngine
Know more, react faster. CFEngine is an infrastructure automation solution developed and maintained by Northern.tech. It helps automate your infrastructure, security & compliance. It's known for its scalability, flexibility, wide platform support, and small / efficient agent. It is agent-based, distributed, and communicates using pull, not push. Hosts fetch new policy from the hub, enforce it, and create reporting data for the hub to gather. Immediately after installing, out of the box reports give you useful inventory information, software information, monitoring and compliance details, and more. CFEngine runs on millions of servers worldwide.

## CFEngine Reviews
 ### 1. REVIEW CFEngine

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2020

**What do you like best about CFEngine?**

It creates a self-healing infrastructure that can manage everything.

**What do you dislike about CFEngine?**

Unable to set SELinux labels in files promises. No built-in Posix groups management (yet).

**Recommendations to others considering CFEngine:**

Give it a shot in a limited capacity. Don't try to convert your entire infrastructure to use it for everything in one shot. Take one or two machines and implement one thing with it. Slowly build a catalog of promises until you get more familiar with it.

**What problems is CFEngine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Install dozens of software services and configure them. Manage users and passwords. Configure sudo.

I can go from zero to production ready in about five minutes for many services.

 ### 2. Agile DevOps config management tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2020

**What do you like best about CFEngine?**

This is the first DevOps tool for agile configuration management. This is the first tools I had worked on for promise theories.

**What do you dislike about CFEngine?**

Works on push mechanism
New tools like puppet works on pull mechanism

**Recommendations to others considering CFEngine:**

Cfengine is easy to use, because of configuration ease with promises CF files and update CF files. The way the config is arranged, is simple to understand, unlike puppet, ansible, salt etc

**What problems is CFEngine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Push the code from master to nodes, for infrastructure provisioning and many deployments
