Whenever we email them something they reply back very fast and give us appropriate solutions plus they do monthly checking with us to make sure we are not lagging behind. **What do you dislike about Certinia PS Cloud?** Sometimes we get errors from package classes and we don't know what errors it and we need to contact support for that. Too many configuration settings at different places to remember. **What problems is Certinia PS Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** Timecards, Multiple Timecard Approval, Resource Planning, Mobile app, Excellent Support, community with lots of information and good documentation, monthly checking and syncup. ### 2. It breaks down all of the subcomponents of a project into the core pieces (Assignments, Budgets, invoices, Tasks, Risks, Timecards, etc). It is easily configured for changes assuming you have salesforce skills. For an admin it makes total sense, however, someone less familiar with salesforce's object model requires a good amount of education. Because all of the data lies within SFDC, the reporting is extremely easy and intuitive. **What do you dislike about Certinia PS Cloud?** It requires some significant admin time for our org of 200+ users. Because everything is related, FF-PSA did a good job of creating a bunch of out-of-the-box workflow rules. However, if you need to go back and change something (say open up a project to approve a timecard), you have to peel several layers back to open up records to change them. We've ultimately had to engage in a managed services contract with a FF services partner to support the improvement of our PSA instance to match our growing business. The user interface leaves a bit to be desired. This is the only PSA I've used, but many users complain about the Time Entry screen and having to remember to continue to update assignments, schedules and project dates Additionally, the support could be improved. The Knowledge base is okay at giving you self-help. And their support team is generally helpful, but not always amenable to meeting over zoom. They prefer hours/days of back and forth over the ticket prior to setting up a quick zoom call which could likely resolve the issue much sooner. **Recommendations to others considering Certinia PS Cloud:** Consider the full tech stack you have. Even if other tools have a better UI, or have quicker onboarding, you could lose all of that time if you're having to manually enter data back into your SFDC CRM. Additionally, Financial Force has a ton of integrations into other cloud platforms like quoting and scoping tools, resource management software, and others. **What problems is Certinia PS Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are much more easily able to resolve resource capacity as well as how much time our resources are spending across both billable and non-billable engagements. We're able to track project efficiency, both in duration and cost margins, too, And finally, we have great data on how many engagements we're completing annually as well as our ability to speed up implementation times. We're able to track our managed services engagements to see monthly hourly spend, too. Since we're able to tag each timecard with an expense allocation, we're able to quickly see (within a quarter or two) how business changes affect the margin of your services organization. This leads to quick iteration and improvement to our org. ### 3. For an administrator, it makes perfect sense, but it takes some severe education for someone unfamiliar with Salesforce's object model. Doing simple things like forecasting revenue required marrying up projects from the billing system (to capture rates) with the resource management system (to capture scheduled hours). As expected, it was a messy process when one system had Rob, the other has Robert, and the project names were different, given the users of each are separate teams. We now get real-time visibility into everything happening in our business with the connected elements of our delivery cycle, all sitting inside of PSA. Our leadership teams get dashboards e-mailed to them every Monday morning for their executive meetings, and our resources see their schedules and compensation metrics every day, along with several other aspects that have made our team much more efficient. **What do you dislike about Certinia PS Cloud?** Because Financial Force PSA is a separate application from salesforce, some elements cannot be customized/modified due to the managed aspect of the package. We want to add more fields to the Resource Request screen to bring in target bill rates for our individuals when filling open requests, but we cannot make this change. While PSA offers plenty of options to customize, we've run into just a handful of items that are somewhat rigid. **What problems is Certinia PS Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's putting all of our core data in a single application, giving us better visibility into the business, better reporting, and a single source of truth. In the past, we had to duplicate data in numerous systems, which has been alleviated. It also gives our delivery partners access to our financial data, specifically invoices, allowing them to better manage the customer relationship when they can see in real-time the status of outstanding AR. This was not possible using a disjointed accounting system. ### 12. Our deployment went very smoothly, and the time it took us to stand up a production-ready tool was greatly improved as result of partnering with an experienced partner. I would strongly recommend leveraging the services of a partner + the tools and resources provided by your deployment partner in the interest of familiarizing the Admin staff during the deployment, as well as training your users quickly, etc. **What problems is Certinia PS Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** Through integration with our Sales/CPQ org, we have streamlined our sales-to-service handoff helping our sales and services teams collaborate through automated project creation, with ties back to the quote and sales order + integration with our other downstream legacy project and delivery management systems, making task assignments and T&E tracking simple and visibility across business channels. ### 22. E.G. powerful report builder, easy to use 'clicks not code' customisation features etc. This allows you to take what Financial Force delivers out of the box and then relatively easily customise it for exactly how your business operates. I say 'relatively easily' as it will still require someone in your business that can 'do Salesforce', but that is another advantage of buying into an app built on Salesforce - the community is huge and the help content available freely online is really high quality. Financial Force has taken time to build its own strong community too - I've found a lot of the questions I've had I've been able to answer either through their help content or knowledge articles (which are based on previously submitted questions from others). All in all, I find the Salesforce/Financial Force combination an enjoyable system admin experience and as a business, we are now able to take actions with data we didn't even have visibility of before. I would say the end-user experience for our project managers and consultants has been pretty good too - the transition was pretty smooth and the learning curve was relatively shallow for what they need to do. **What do you dislike about Certinia PS Cloud?** There's nothing that I strongly dislike. We couldn't really get the Jira integration working so we gave up on that (but for us it wasn't a deal-breaker) and we've got a support ticket open at the moment that seems to be tricky for FF to resolve (around status reports failing to send for one project), but that's about it really. I would also say that some of the product areas could do with some UX rework - in some areas it seems like old features perhaps haven't been retired fully; the example I'm thinking of is the utilisation fields on resource records; we've never seen them populate with any data and I've never been able to figure out why. But, because I can get the data elsewhere in the system I've never tried hard to understand/fix it. Finally, we've built some custom functionality using the Salesforce tools that feels like it should come out of the box from Financial Force. E.G. enforcing a process to capture the reasons why dates get adjusted on milestones/projects, capturing the reasons for credited assignments and ensuring that these are approved by the Practice Lead, capturing Lessons Learned etc, However, the fact that we've been able to meet these requirements ourselves speaks to the power of the platform. It would have just been nice to have them there out of the box. **Recommendations to others considering Certinia PS Cloud:** If you're prepared to do a little customisation I think this is a strong product. Find someone who can be a Salesforce admin in your organisation if you don't already have one. Get involved with the FF community. **What problems is Certinia PS Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** The biggest problem PSA is solving for us is the visibility of the data to feed our key business metrics and making it pain-free to capture that data in the first place. One of the biggest areas this is impacting is around resourcing and ensuring that we are adequately staffed to satisfy current projects AND the pipeline (this is the other benefit of PSA being on the Salesforce platform - it's tightly integrated with the sales process). ### 25. As an administrator, I find myself training users frequently because it's not the most intuitive system. We also have to restrict a lot of users from doing certain things. There are a lot of permissions/controls that require constant administration. As the system is so complex, you frequently need to audit your own system to make sure all your users have the appropriate roles and access. **Recommendations to others considering Certinia PS Cloud:** Make sure you invest the time to learn the platform thoroughly before implementing it. The way FF designed the architecture to support resource planning helps scale this solution to any business groups. The most interesting part is resource and project planning which gives one view OOTB rather than spinning up customer reports or manual calculation. **What do you dislike about Certinia PS Cloud?** I dislike the tightly coupled integration with other systems which incurs a lot of maintenance cost and poor performance. This is also due to poor design by the implementation partner for the business requirement. It's like an elephant trying to get into a needle hole (We need the right implementation partner who sets the right expectations with customers/business rather than trying to please by accepting all requirements which incur a lot of customizations). **What problems is Certinia PS Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** As per the comment above, we are facing integration and design issues and a lack of knowledge on FF. This makes businesses think this app is difficult rather than trying to use it the way it is supposed to be used.
