This is a fanastic tool to manage products in. It allows you to track everything you need for a SaaS business. They have great support and a wonderful community of resources that is very helpful!

I don't have any downsides, I really enjoy the product.

This allows our team to manage projects inside Salesforce. We can create resource requests to start staffing projects/planning and schedule our resources ahead of time to optimize utilization.

One of the key strengths of FinancialForce PSA is its real-time visibility into project status, resource utilization, and financial performance. This allows users to monitor KPIs and make data-driven decisions on the fly. The advanced forecasting capabilities are also impressive, as they enable users to predict project profitability and identify potential issues before they arise. Additionally, the software's scalability and flexibility make it a viable option for organizations of all sizes, and its integration with Salesforce and mobile access add to its appeal

**What do you dislike about Certinia PS Cloud?**

Some users have reported that the software can be complex and difficult to use, especially for those who are not familiar with the Salesforce platform. Certinia has one of the best time entry solutions that I've used in the market. Their services team were also great during the initial implementation.

**What do you dislike about Certinia PS Cloud?**

Some of the features don't work as expected out of the box, such as project status reports and exporting the GANTT charts.

**What problems is Certinia PS Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Certinia allows us to keep all of our projects within one system that includes time tracking, project status, revenue recognition information (percentage completion, milestone-based, and T&M), and project coordination across several hundred customers.

The best thing about Certinia is not just the out of box abilities but the customizations that you can do to really make the software work for your business and team.

You can post ideas on enhancements and new features which is great, but these can be slow to get put into next or future releases. Sometimes they are just marked "will not do" without an explanation.

Certinia PS Cloud is helping figure out our break even numbers with the help of utilization. Scheduled and historic utilization helps forecast our needs for the future and helps us see current capacity.

**What do you like best about Certinia PS Cloud?**

Out of the box features and processes are very useful and not require too much customization during our initial use of the capability.   Our business users can use at least about 80% of the functionalities from day 1.

**What do you dislike about Certinia PS Cloud?**

so far, most features are usable, however there are still some small limitations related to customizable functions that our business users have asked for, though we managed to find workarounds for a few.

**What problems is Certinia PS Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our business users love the single timesheet page to view their multiple projects, including easy view of project tasks that are associated to the projects assigned.   Billing events are automated and easily retrievable for financial reconciliation and invoicing.

**What do you like best about Certinia PS Cloud?**

FF PSA allows medium and large PS organizations to run their business using the out-of-the-box features. New features and bug fixes are rolled out on a regular basis. Without the need to customize the application, PSA upgrades are very seamless and practically impactless to our business.
After re-vamping the scheduling and resource management processes and expanding FF PSA capabilities, we definitely noticed an increase in billable utilization and revenue run rates.

Recently, we implemented revenue reporting and forecasting in FF PSA. This requires Analytics, which is an additional license, but the benefits of being able to see updates to the forecast almost in real-time, especially in a global organization, outweigh the cost by order of magnitude.

**What do you dislike about Certinia PS Cloud?**

As FF PSA is running on top of the SF.com platform, it uses some of the same objects. E.G. on the SF.com opportunity page, PSA is using at least 8 out of 50 available lookup objects. If there are other applications, which are also using the page, we quickly reached the hard limit of 50 and now we need to get rid or migrate the objects to another type.

**What problems is Certinia PS Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our global organization migrated the scheduling of PS resources, skills management,  calendars, projects, revenue reporting, revenue forecasting and  associated dashboards and reports from spreadsheets to PSA. We definitely notices higher billable utilization and significantly more transparency with business reporting from FF PSA

**What do you like best about Certinia PS Cloud?**

I love the ease of use for our Professional Services team. We have a very complex business process and PSA allowed us to consolidate 5 different systems for 5 different business units into one single source of truth for our PS teams. The system is highly configurable and allowed us to customize the platform to meet a variety of business needs.

**What do you dislike about Certinia PS Cloud?**

Project creation using the ClickLink package has been spotty. While it works most of the time, there are some bugs and errors we cannot troubleshoot due to ambiguous error messages. It has been difficult for the FF team and us to resolve this issue which is still ongoing.

**Recommendations to others considering Certinia PS Cloud:**

I strongly recommend having an experience FF/PSA implementation consultant when rolling out PSA. Once the initial setup is complete and your teams are using the tool, maintenance and administration are relatively low but training is critical for the end users.

**What problems is Certinia PS Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With PSA for FF, we are able to have a single system for not only our Professional Services team for project management, time writing, forecasting etc. but we also use it for internal time writing for our R&D teams. We never got RevRec off the ground due to an internal limitation but we hope to one day re-visit that functionality.

FinancialForce PSA can capture the tasks needed to be performed by a persona on one page. A single page holds so much information without navigating to a different object!

**What do you dislike about Certinia PS Cloud?**

The current inability to extract planners to excel or the ability to report on the planner without taking a screenshot. Where there is a filter, there should also be the ability to save a user's combination so that they don't have to populate values onto the filter each time.

**Recommendations to others considering Certinia PS Cloud:**

Be vocal about the things that are meaningful to you. While FinancialForce may not have answers to everything, they certainly do try to make the platform better each time

**What problems is Certinia PS Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making resource management more intuitive/smart. Project managers are sometimes hesitant to use the resource/project planning tools directly within FinancialForce without manually planning them offline, either on Excel or another software. They feel that the existing tools within FinancialForce is limited or rigid. With a more intuitive staffing capability, this will encourage PMs to input data directly into FinancialForce.

Its flexibility, friendly user interface and advanced reporting capabilities. Additionally PSA can be easily configured to meet unique business needs without having to use custom code, leveraging the Salesforce platform. More specifcally I'm a fan of the OOTB Utilization Calculations and work, resource & project planners.

**What do you dislike about Certinia PS Cloud?**

OOTB the product does not include features for sending Timecard entry reminders or expense entry reminders. Also the functionality to apply quality control on time entry (e.g. has everyone done 40 hrs this week?) could be improved.

**What problems is Certinia PS Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows the efficient utilization of human capital by providing project en resource management features, including forward looking KPIs such as utilization and billability. It helps project managers to stay within budget, but also to utilise capacity and budget fully. It gives business inside in capacity & backlog, helping business to run efficient operations.

**What do you like best about Certinia PS Cloud?**

The system is well developed and caters to most use cases out of the box or is easily configurable to automate common business processes given the Salesforce platform.  The product team is beginning to push the product into more interesting areas and is slowly but surely removing technical debt and outdated features.

**What do you dislike about Certinia PS Cloud?**

The ability to access help and information can be limited, especially in Australia.  You must rely on an implementation partner to get you up and running, and continue to support you as you use the system as it is very difficult to do so otherwise.  The user interface can be confusing to end users and users must invest the time to learn the system and understand how it operates to be able to use it effectively.

**What problems is Certinia PS Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With a combination of PSA and FFA (FF Accounting) we have be able to deliver an end-to-end business solution on a single platform.

**What do you like best about Certinia PS Cloud?**

It easily integrates with Salesforce CRM data, and I can monitor the entire lifecycle of a customer and perform interventions as necessary. I've used project management platforms in the past that didn't have as seamless an intergration with data.

**What do you dislike about Certinia PS Cloud?**

You have to have team members in place who understand both systems' technical capabilities. There is little information about best practices for the system, and there is a reliance on crowdsourcing these answers in the community. However, that creates the same cycle of issues - knowing the platforms' technical capabilities means you can create a system that works for you; however, leading experts on the product would better voice what a best practice, preferably by industry, is.  There's also not a lot of practice test material around the certification.  If you take longer than 30 days to study for your certification exam, your sandbox account is shut down, and you have to rebuild. So it is best if you review all the material and then, 30 days before the exam test pilot the system, or spin off your own partial sandbox to have it available for a longer term.

Data from Salesforce CRM to make informed decisions and be proactive in supporting our customers through their journey. Performance has not increased as the platform itself require revision and management behind the scenes to be a easy interaction for users.

**What do you like best about Certinia PS Cloud?**

To me Financial Force PSA is very easy to use. I am able to navigate to the necessary fields used daily very easily. The ability to check budgets and create reports is seamless. Making updates to necessary assignments is very easy.

**What do you dislike about Certinia PS Cloud?**

On the home screen of Financial Force PSA I can only see 10 of my projects. These projects are the first 10 in alphabetical order, whether they are current or past projects. To only see active projects, I created a copy of my projects tab.

**What problems is Certinia PS Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Financial Force PSA is benefiting me by keeping reporting consistent on a week-to-week basis. When sending a weekly status report, I don't have to check the make sure format is staying the same. I am only having to update the objectives completed, planned, etc. 

PSA also keeps it very easy to track resources, budgets and remaining hours on each project.

**What do you like best about Certinia PS Cloud?**

Easily create project templates and then integrate with the SF opportunities to create Read-only fields on the project. Ability to create approval workflows to bill through FinancialForce to Accounting. Easily integrated our own platform with SF using SF's technology and our APIs. With all of the data in one place, we can easily create reports to reconcile much faster.

**What do you dislike about Certinia PS Cloud?**

The security model is overly complicated.
We were not able to purchase the right level of Support and when we did have issues, we could not get anyone to help us live. I did post in the Community, but to no avail. I finally figured it out myself--the year had changed and the appropriate calendars were not there. Very simple answer, but it took me longer to try to get Support than to keep at it until I figured it out.
Also, the feature to see the 'project plan' is great--it needs to be printable and downloadable and conversion-able to other formats.

**What problems is Certinia PS Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The best problem that it solves is Analytics and Reporting. We still have to massage the outputs, but with all of the data available in one place, it is much easier to show and reconcile the opportunity's forecast against the billables.

**What do you like best about Certinia PS Cloud?**

I can control my team/org and all our projects using a single tool. In the past, we painfully performed these actions across silos of tools that couldn't talk to each other. We also lacked deep insights into our  LOB in the past, but thanks to FinancialForce PSA, just in 4 months, we already have tons of data that are tremendously helping us plan, forecast and deliver better.

**What do you dislike about Certinia PS Cloud?**

I would love to see more turn-key integrations out of the box. From what I have seen, most of the integrations we need require custom-build. We will be digging a little deeper during this quarter though.

**What problems is Certinia PS Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One tool for all PS needs. Our forecasting maturity is improving. Reporting and dashboarding capabilities are excellent; we use them all almost daily. Transition from JIRA/Smartsheet to FinancialForce PSA was almost painless.

Being new to the system and learning it from the ground up has given me a new view and perspective on analyzing data.  I was used to manually manipulating data to get the result and be able to analyze what I was looking at and report on it.  Now, and as the days go on, I can not only automate manual processes but can now dig into the system and see what other functionality would benefit all.

We have significantly improved our ability to provide timely information to our Professional Services, Sales, and Finance Leaders. We pair FF PSA data points with data governance using workflow rules/logic, and a BI Tool we are able to provide timely action-oriented insights to do the following: capture Change Order Bookings and Revenue, ensure accurate time cards (main revenue source for PS), track billable utilization, and provide accurate forecast details to our Finance Teams. We have been growing our change orders revenue/bookings at hyper-growth levels by leveraging PSA and Salesforce CRM. We were able to improve the flow of revenue to become more predictable and stable. We have built trust with our Finance team to be able to request billable headcount resources based on our accurate forecasting and billable utilization metrics. We help our Finance team’s ability to understanding the timing of revenue.

Some of the Project management tools were not as user friendly the way we had implemented Financial Force PSA. We were a little too in the weeds with some of our project tasks.

It is an easy-to-use software that makes doing business across a project, team, or company much more straightforward and efficient. There is not much to dislike about FinancialForce PSA. The training, tutorials, and help documents make learning PSA very simple. I would only suggest more walk-through videos explaining where some items might be, so users can visually see and follow along instead of following step-by-step directions.

FinancialForce PSA is used abundantly in my company. Integrating with our finance software Netsuite was the main driver of this purchasing decision.  For the overall success of our services organization, having this integration is vital, and it eliminates mistakes and oversights that we would have otherwise. Being on the Salesforce platform also allows us to keep the delivery of our services better aligned with the opportunities and customer records; this keeps information more centralized.

**What do you dislike about Certinia PS Cloud?**

FinancialForce PSA has so much depth to it.  These features are a positive, but also a negative.  You have to go all in to get the total value out of the solution.  I wish there were ways to take advantage of forecasting and other modules without requiring other departments to align their Salesforce processes to drive PSA inputs correctly.  Also, while powerful and valuable, resource scheduler requires significant time to manage, set up and keep up to date.  Simplifying inputs required to use functions of PSA would make the barrier to entry easier and improve the user experience.

Another challenge is the duplication of project updates.  Our teams track project updates and progress within the PSA; the current functionality does not allow us to manage client project expectations within the system and provide the collaborative experience our teams and customers need.

FinancialForce PSA solves a few key problems, these include:
1. Integration with Netsuite to correctly track revenue delivered.

3. Time tracking.
4. Resource planning.

The above has allowed our services teams and others within our organization to stay more aligned and improve the operation of our business.

My main use case is reporting, and it emulates Salesforce reporting exactly, so it is seamless.  The revenue information is mostly straight-forward and is easily reportable.

A couple of problems my team has been experiencing are:
1. The daily jobs take some time to understand; if any problems arise, it can take some time to resolve due to the complexity

Reporting is easy and reporting on custom fields is just as simple as out of the box reports.  You can report on hours, costs, and group items for more comparisons.

The only item I wish we could do is group assignments.  Meaning if I have 100 hours and 2 people are working on it, it would be great if it tracked those hours vs indivdiual assignments.  It helps with the milestones and project phases and reporting but it can cause some juggling of hours if people are not working on assignments equally.

Our data is in one place so we can track from estimate to final billing and know the details in between. Visibility into projects, milestones, timecards, and revenue helps us keep a good pulse on the business

**What do you dislike about Certinia PS Cloud?**

The partnership with customer success could be more robust. We started having discussions, shared our pain points and got excited about a customer success plan which we never really got. We could be getting more out of the platform and potentially can get excited about other FF offerings like CPQ. The CSM team is not practical for us.
