Being on the Salesforce platform, it's processing throughput is throttled by Salesforce limits. FinancialForce needs to invest in a solid and scalable processing capacity to handle large volumes of transactions if they desire to enter the large enterprise market. The local expertise and capability in Australia are also quite limited, making in-house recruitment challenging and the option left with the client is to rely heavily on FinancialForce support team. It's very useful that FinancialFoce is built off the SalesForce platform, particularly for our customer invoicing and revenue recognition. We leverage billing central to invoice 5,000 customers a month, which is largely automated. There are several basic accounting features that are missing out of the box such as a live feed from banks and credit cards, bank reconciliation to the bank, and customer statement of account. Financialforce is a powerful way to integrate our entire small business (approximately 200 employees), ecommerce platforms, LMS, backend systems, Finances, Inventory, etc. There seems to be a useful tool for every possible business function. Managing this product is a huge undertaking. You will need a salesforce developer available if not on staff AFTER you have someone that knows the system onboard your company. In addition, your standard administrators will have to become defacto inventory controllers, accountants and so on as they learn the intricacies of each system, automate processes and put the guardrails up for your users.

FinancialForce is adaptable to the intricacies of the businesses' needs. Being a data-heavy business, FinancialForce allows us to store and report on large amounts of data. The excel plug-in needs some attention, this is the best way to manage large transactions and it hasn't been updated for a while. There is no payroll or HR offering.
