It's a great SaaS product, requiring minimal technical setup, which makes it easier to configure the tool to meet our business needs, including data and process mapping, permissions, and template generation. I find the ability to automatically generate invoices using data points particularly valuable, as it helps get bills out quickly to start generating revenue. **What do you dislike about Certinia Financial Management Cloud?** Overall, there are not many complaints. I think that the relationship and integration with Salesforce that includes how to better build objects and not require so much infrastructure on the integration side. **What problems is Certinia Financial Management Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Certinia Financial Management Cloud for a seamless pipeline from sales to billing with one tool. All you can do is email Support agents who are not knowledgeable about the app and its functions. It takes forever to get anything resolved. Emailing your Account Rep is useless as all they can help with is provisioning new licenses. Emailing Customer Success is also useless as the only response they provide is to submit a support case or post to Certinia user forums and hope someone other than Certinia and help you with your issue. As a PS cloud user in parallel, I appreciate that the layout and click by click experience is consistent across the solutions. I also like that the features can be customisable to as unique as what our org needs it to be. **What do you dislike about Certinia Financial Management Cloud?** I feel that permissioning is still clunky. While I appreciate that it allows the control of what users have access to, but having to configure permissions for every single thing becomes daunting. **What problems is Certinia Financial Management Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** We've had an increase of usage billing use cases across the organization especially with entities which we've integrated. We've never had to support usage based billing as most of our products are License/Subscription or T&M/Fixed Price products. We are now able to house all the usage billing use cases into Billing Central and finding ways to adapt other quirky use cases so that they can leverage Billing Central as well. One stop shop for most of our billing that are not vanilla. ### 14. I feel as though Certinia is always continuing to improve its software and continues to provide regular releases and trainings on those updates. The interconnectivity of Certinia with Salesforce makes it worth all of the money we spend as we have been able to automate a lot of our processes. **What do you dislike about Certinia Financial Management Cloud?** The hardest part we have had to deal with is that we were early adopters/implementers of Certinia. We found 3rd-party implementers that told us they could implement the system precisely to our specifications but have been dealing with issues ever since that implementation. Luckily we have received help from Certinia to start correcting many of these issues brought on by the implementation. We are behind on utilizing a lot of new features being brought out, but once we get caught up it'll be a great ERP for us. **Recommendations to others considering Certinia Financial Management Cloud:** Although FinancialForce is relatively new, I have used the system at multiple companies now and highly recommend the product. When configured correctly, work becomes very simple and you can become much more highly effective in your role. Their support team is great and even have bi-weekly meetings with our account representative to discuss further issues we are having. **What problems is Certinia Financial Management Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** Many of our problems reside around the implementation; however, we have had many others issues arise around the automation aspect of invoices, payments, etc. As mentioned before, Certinia is extremely helpful with issues you are having and making sure you are set up properly to succeed. ### 16. Many of the accounting features (especially revenue recognition) make bookkeeping and reporting much easier than with other systems we've used. I like the fact that Certinia has a flexible, customizable interface. The customer support with Certinia is overall really good. It's easy to get to know the people who work in the company, and they genuinely care about your success. **What do you dislike about Certinia Financial Management Cloud?** There are 2 issues with Certinia ERP Cloud that, if resolved, will make Certinia a much better product. The first isssue is that the GUI needs work. There's a lack of consistency in the look and feel of many of the different areas of the accounting, which requires me as the end user to do a lot of pattern-switching when using the program, which slows me down. Additionally, the system is not easy to use out of the box and almost always requires a ton of customization to bring to a workable, stable state, which adds considerable implementation time and learning curves to organizations who aren't ready to roll up their sleaves and dive into a lot of technical issues. If you're a company that prefers the ease of use of a what-you-see-is-what-you-get program like QuickBooks or NetSuite, Certinia ERP Cloud may not be for you. The second issue is that it's very difficult to find technical documentation, help files, and training videos for Certinia ERP Cloud, which adds unecessary difficult to a product that already has a high learning curve. I had to do a lot of training sessions with Certinia technical customer success managers to learn the skills necessary to run my accounting department with Certinia when I would have preferred a more self-paced learning program. **What problems is Certinia Financial Management Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** The biggest benefit to using Certinia ERP Cloud is having a single-sign-on solution to manage our entire sales to cash pipeline. Having everything on the Force.com platform really speeds up our workflows and provides a single source of truth for our metrics. ### 17. You can put your source data into a simple Excel template and then, you can upload (or drag and dop) the Excel into the DataStream screen. All the data will get automatically distributed to the right tables. If your Excel contained a list of invoices, you could see them all recorded in the Invoices section after the upload. You just need to select the List View: Invoices – All. If your uploaded data contains any errors, DataStream detects them and list them for you, so you can correct them in your Excel file and reupload the file again. **What do you dislike about Certinia Financial Management Cloud?** There is nothing to dislike. However, the strongest area of FFA is when you partner it with the rest of the Financial Force solution. It is on the roadmap, but basic functionality like bank feeds and BAS reports do not exist, which can be a difficult discussion with stakeholders when put aside a lot of other products that offer this out-of-the-box. With the flexibility of the system comes a learning curve. Users have to be prepared to learn the ins and outs of the system, and how the data model fundamentally works, to get the most out of it. We use Salesforce for both our Donor CRM and our participant CRM. Having all the data for both revenue and expenses in the same system makes for much easier communication across the organization. **What do you dislike about Certinia Financial Management Cloud?** FFA's Fixed Asset Management system is a joke. We had to pay developers to make it useful for our organization. We are a non-profit so our Fixed Assets are pretty basic. So many functions specific to the Accounting process need salesforce admin access. Trying to explain accounting processes to a salesforce admin is cumbersome. For example, how would you explain in SFAdmin terms that you need a new NACHA file template? **What problems is Certinia Financial Management Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have solved a transparency issue and reduced triple entry of data. Example, vendors now submit banking and tax information directly into the system using a docusign integration. Additionally we have automated the payable invoice creation by leveraging participant data on campaigns.
