The course includes a combination of virtual training and lab exercises with a 24 hour incident response exercise at the end. The hands on training is great and covers so many key areas SOC and IR analysts need to understand. **What do you dislike about Centri?** We had great results with the BTL1 course. A few of my senior analysts took the BTL2 course and came away a bit frustrated in the way they were measured. We were one of the first groups to take the BTL2 course and at the time, there was only one person grading the final report used to pass/fail students so we had to wait several weeks for results. It seems that the coursework did not prep students to meet the expectations/writing style the grader was looking for in the final exercise. This was probably due to resource constraints at popular times of the day. They are some of the best in the business when it comes to that. The lab environments were stable for the most part and they have better infrastructure than most in this type of business. I also enjoyed how on the exams they introduced a twist that may have been a subset of a topic covered in the material but would require research to uncover the artifacts in that specific part of the exam. Making this pivot wasn't too difficult or "out of left field" - it was just right and fair. I respect that a lot because the course objectives aligned with what it took to pass the exam. **What do you dislike about Centri?** In late 2023 and early 2024, exam grading times were horrifically slow. However, I have friends who have taken the exam recently and have said there is very quick turnaround now. My only other gripe would also be having limited access to the exam course material. The material, in my opinion, should be PDF downloadable at the time the subscription starts to the end of the subscription so professionals can reference it later in their careers and aren't soley relying on memorization. Other than that, I really enjoyed the experience and learned a ton. The exam itself was challenging and really validated the skills course graduates claim to have when displaying their badge on Credly. Purchasing courses from BTL2, administering the credits and assigning them to team members was as easy as it could be. The support team was quick to resolve any issues and were very flexible regarding real-life interruptions to study as well as any technical issues for the labs and the exam. Separately, the Blue Team Labs Online environment (BTLO) was easy to sign up for and trial before purchasing monthly passes and was an invaluable resource in preparing for the exam and honing our skills. **What do you dislike about Centri?** * This is a minor gripe but the labs require a specific format for answers sometimes and the parsing doesn't always work the way it's required. * The support team is UK-based so if you have support requests you may have to wait until the following business day to have it fielded.
