"Good product with lots of flexibility and some weird quirks"
4/5
What do you like best about Celtx?

The program has enjoyed both extensibility and its cloud-based nature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Celtx?

The inability to go from one script to episodic and back. Once I chose episodic, I was stuck. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jenny Fisher Schoberl of Celtx

Hi Dave!

Thank you so much for the feedback, we really appreciate you taking the time to leave it.

I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with going from script to episodic and back. You should be able to adapt your screenplay to any format easily with the "Adapt To" option in our Navigation dropdown. If you find you're consistently having issues with this, we encourage you to reach out to our support team at support@celtx.com so they can look into it.

Thank you again for being part of the Celtx community. Happy writing!

"It's been good but tech issues could improve"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Celtx?

The layout. Is very simple, very specific and the navigating is self explanatory which I love! I've had Celtx for years now and it's a great software for my writing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Celtx?

Sometimes there are tech issues. I thought I lost one of my drafts because the system didn't update on my end. I spoke to tech, and they were really helpful and I was able to recover my draft, however I panic at the moment cause I had put hours of work into that draft. Also, when importing a script that's on PDF, I would like it if it could be imported in Celtx script format. I have imported scripts that were worked on Celtx, exported on PDF and when imported again to Celtx the format goes off and I have to rearrange dialogues, characters, and everything manually, one by one. It will be great if the system can read the format and import in such. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jenny Fisher Schoberl of Celtx

Thank you so much for the feedback! We appreciate all of your insight and will pass it along to the proper team.

If ever you run into more issues, feel free to reach out to support (support@celtx.com) - they are truly a wonderful team that are dedicated to helping our users solve any issues they may encounter.

"What a wonderfull experience to manage my projects"
5/5
What do you like best about Celtx?

It is intuitive and fast. Even for new users Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Celtx?

For the call-sheet section, it would be nice if you could create a complete workpaper for the crew with all you need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jenny Fisher Schoberl of Celtx

Hi Michael,

We're so glad to read you find Celtx intuitive and easy to use, and thanks for the thoughtful suggestion! Celtx call sheets auto-populate key details from your script — including locations, sunrise/sunset times, scene list, cast list, and advance team — and partially automate crew and contact info. You can also add weather, production notes, basecamp, call times, transport, and department notes, all in one place. But we love hearing ideas for making them even more comprehensive. Your note about a “complete workpaper” is great — we’ll share this with our product team so they can consider ways to bundle more daily details into a single document.

Thank you again for the feedback, and for being a valuable member of the Celtx community!

"I Highly Recommend Celtx"
5/5
What do you like best about Celtx?

I’ve been using Celtx for a long time. It’s the screenwriting software I’m most used to using as I am on a budget. I recommend it to people who ask which software to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Celtx?

Unfortunately, I’m not allowed more than 3 screenplays in my studio. I’ve had to trash some screenplays I’d love to tweak in my spare time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jenny Fisher Schoberl of Celtx

Thank you so much for the kind words and for recommending Celtx to others — it means a lot to us that you’ve been with us for such a long time!

We completely understand the challenge of managing multiple projects when you’re limited to three in your studio. While the Writer Plan is designed with that cap in mind, we do offer other plan options that allow for more active scripts if you ever find yourself ready for that next step. In the meantime, we hope Celtx continues to be a helpful space for the stories you’re working on now.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your feedback — it really helps us understand what matters most to our writers.

"Great software for professionals and beginners"

What do you like best about Celtx?

The platform itself is easy to use and get the feel for. This was my first screenwriting software and I don’t honestly see a need to explore other options. It’s easy, gets the job done, and syncs all my work online so I don’t have to worry about losing any of my work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
