Indeed, but the highest value is providing in-depths knowledge of your own processes, which you are (probably) not aware of. The tool shows the naked truth, may it be good or rather inconvenient. But if you utilize this strength in the right way, it can also be a great device to convince your peers about your objectives. It removes any emotional factors from discussions as it instantly provides information you could just suspect before. Another great factor of Celonis is the role of the Success Manager. That was new to me and this is far more than an Account Manager. Celonis opens many doors, not only to its senior management, but also to all kind of other Celonis customers. The chance to exchange experience with those is invaluable. That gives you a great piece of certainty when you rollout Celonis into your firm. **What do you dislike about Celonis?** It might be challenging to meet all expectations of the different departments. Celonis is considered to be a messiah for all your problems, but be aware that it is neither meant to be a numb KPI reporting tool, nor a staff performance monitoring tool. **Recommendations to others considering Celonis:** Invest some small amounts of cash and run a PoV... find out how fast you can find inefficiencies and potential cost savings... **What problems is Celonis solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are using Celonis to analyze our sales as-is processes in order to identify inefficiencies. The same will then be prioritized and removed based on importance and implementation efforts. Furthermore, we use Celonis in our S/4 Hana transformation, where we run conformance checks, analyze all kind of changes happing to a process, transactions and order types. As we are in the beginning of this journey, there is much more to come, such as IT as well as production processes. ### 2. The tool has been very planned and executed to cover almost alll the scenarios. **What problems is Celonis solving and how is that benefiting you?** We face lot of challenges in our P2P proces. Delayed/late payments was one of them which led to bitter supplier experience. With Celonis, it was identified that the invoice which was not sent on time was one of the major reason and we were quickly able to address the issue ### 3. It also simplifies data pulls and analysis on large amounts of SAP data, which has proving challenging for our business in the past. **What do you dislike about Celonis?** Limitation of on prem versus cloud functionality. Often, there are new capabilities rolled out and pushed, but never for on prem customer like ourselves. **Recommendations to others considering Celonis:** If an option I would suggest the IBC Celonis version to avoid later migration or issues with limited functionality. **What problems is Celonis solving and how is that benefiting you?** OTC - Process efficiencies have been identified within the order to cash model including but not limited to, block removals and order entry automation opportunities. We have realized over $250k in type 2 savings ( cost avoidance, labor savings) Supply Chain (P2P, OBL, Excess and Obsolete) - Identified opportunities to apply differing minimum order policies based on ordering patterns in size and frequency across a variety of business segments and regions. In the manufacturing space we were able to quickly drill down to our internal raw material ordering patterns, which helped to identify opportunities to "buy bigger". Opportunities in supply chain can be quantified in the Millions. ### 4. We were able to deploy the solution with ease. Lots of functionalities and ability to connect to various IT systems makes it a very powerful tool. We get an end to end visibility of the entire process which very unique and no other technology has the ability to show a clear picture of the process this way. Once we have the data model set up for a process, we can just play around with different KPIs and start to analyze the process through various dimensions. **What do you dislike about Celonis?** The app store could have been more helpful to give a process selection guidelines. **Recommendations to others considering Celonis:** Very powerful and can bring in lot of value to organizations having a large data footprint. One of our challenges is allowing the users to set up their own views by using the bookmarks. Celonis retrieves your process data from your IT Systems (ERP, CRM, PDM, MES etc.) and provides an instant, visually pleasing, overview of your process and process quality in a matter of seconds. Within our company we have global dashboards that visualize the process performance for our P2P, O2C, Production, Quality & Service processes. This X-Ray view of our global process landscape facilitates global collaboration for innovation projects within our organization. One of the biggest benefits of Celonis is that it lets you look at your process quality (KPI`s) from different dimensions (products, partners, organisation unit, document headers etc.) and shows you where to focus your resources on to create the most improvement impact on your KPI`s. **What do you dislike about Celonis?** At the start of digital transformations, a lot of process activities take place "Offline", therefore the expected initial response will be that the data is "incorrect". This is not a problem with Celonis, but the change management aspect of a Celonis implementation can be challenging. **Recommendations to others considering Celonis:** It is important to understand that Celonis is not just a reporting tool. When positioned correctly within the organization, Celonis saves you time and money in your digital transformation. To get a first impression of how Celonis functions check their video`s on Youtube, you will be amazed. **What problems is Celonis solving and how is that benefiting you?** With the help of Celonis we improved the following KPI`s: on time delivery performance of our suppliers, on time payment %, invoice validation TPT, master data quality, MOQ/EOQ optimizations, on-time delivery to our customers, reduction of waste activities, inventory optimization, production TPT, confirmation accuracy, Incoterm compliance etc. ### 7. The LMS training tracks were also a good starting point and Celonis consultants were very helpful in building upon that knowledge and helping us with development and configuration. **What do you dislike about Celonis?** I don't like PQL that much - not a lot of training was offered around it in the LMS. I realize there is a lot of info there, but it can be overwhelming and takes a bit of bandwidth. Celonis has been a true partner by providing exceptional customer support and enablement of analysts and users. **What do you dislike about Celonis?** To go beyond the out of the box solution you need to have knowledge of PQL. This allows the tool to be incredibly flexible, but is useful to know before you embark on your journey. We have found success by pairing a data savvy business user and an IT PQL expert. Data validation is critical. Take your time to ensure the data is coming into the tool as you expected. **What problems is Celonis solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are using Celonis to send alerts for issues that occur infrequently. Instead of needing to actively check SAP, we can wait for the alert to let us know when action is required. While traditional BI tools are in retrospect, capability to refresh with near real time data & visualize the bottleneck is useful. Also, product is now trying to center itself on action (rather than just reflecting the issue) **What do you dislike about Celonis?** In enterprise setup, ease with which it can interact with other applications or authentications (Kerberos support) can be improved, so that it can be adopted in scale in larger organizations **Recommendations to others considering Celonis:** While you might be skeptical of the benefits, as long as you have data foot print in some shape/ form, that can be transformed & used, it is worth trying this journey. We had initial doubts on quality of data. They put significant time, effort and resources into ensuring we have everything we need to make great use of their technology. **What do you dislike about Celonis?** Nothing. I hear it's an expensive solution, but I wasn't involved in vendor selection, so I can't go into any detail there. And I have no comparison for alternatives. **What problems is Celonis solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our business units have hunches about what's slowing their processes down. They can tell there are hang-ups somewhere, but don't have the insight to be able to pinpoint where the problems are. Celonis provides hard data that gives business users and leaders absolute clarity into where they can make improvements. One business unit so far has been able to change their process to remove the most "friction". Another business unit in a shared services organization has realized they need to create a decision making structure around who acts on process improvement opportunities identified by the tool. We are relatively early in the journey, as we have just started implementing to the business this year. ### 19.
