Easy to use and the Good Clinical Practices are very important within the platform

The time zone change because of the 7 hour delay the visits appear on a different day.

I find that the database is fairly easy to use, and the website interface is not at all confusing. There are a lot of helpful tips and instructions when using the database, allowing for ease of use.

**What do you dislike about Castor?**

The only issue that I had with using Castor was inputting patient completed surveys. However, there are instructions on how to do it.

Castor is an intuitively built EDC with many built-in functions such as eConsent and randomisation options. You can also schedule certain questionnaires to be sent at specific times which reduces user error

**What do you dislike about Castor?**

It can be quite expensive and takes some time to set up. Have no experience with API but heard it is quite difficult to use

**What problems is Castor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Castor reduces user error. It creates data consistency and ensures we perform all questions/actions that are required within our studies. This greatly improves data completeness.

I like that you can export all the visits forms in one file or separated by visit, which can be really useful for metrics analysis. 

It is very easy to use.

**What do you like best about Castor?**

Is easy to structure a clinical trial with castor. The platform is user-friendly and has many smart tools to personalize the study decreasing the time needed for a visit.

**What do you dislike about Castor?**

I think something that Castor could improve when it comes to managing a clinical trial, is adding the option to assign to each subject both a screening number and (in case of inclusion) a participant number.
In this way would be easier to recognise each included participant without the need to exclude from the platform the subjects that did not pass the screening visit.

**What problems is Castor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saves time while performing a clinical trial. Without having to print the CRF and the questionnaires makes my jo, as a clinical researcher, easier and more productive.

It is easy to use, clear explaination available. Easy communication. Many possibilties in data capturing. Also easy data extraction.

That it is not possible to create automations based on a date that you fill out. CastorEDC reacted that they Will have this fixed.

It maken data capture easy and convieniant. Sending out surveys is really easy With this software. Very satisfied!

Having to click on the tabs on left hand side twice in order to open that section. Also we should be able to open up surveys without having to sen dan email to ourselves.

It is easy to understand and use by any user. In general terms, it performed well in capturing information and the sites were able to easily fill in the blanks.

**What do you dislike about Castor?**

The late response time from CASTOR Clinical staff.They can take about 1 week on average to respond and provide a solution.

**What problems is Castor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Capture all patient data at different sites where the clinical study operated. Archive the information and keep a record file of the data.
They also provided me with reports of controls and cases and with the database lock plan.

Outstanding queries can be found in the Monitoring Tab (Queries subtab) - from here, you can filter results to display only a list of open/unresolved queries.  By clicking on the 'eye' icon next to each individual query, you will be automatically navigated to the query in question within the form.  Hope that helps!  Our HelpDesk also includes great information related to monitoring and queries.

Castor has an easy-to-use interface with a ton of customisability options that let you make a database with clarity that's only your mind.

**What do you dislike about Castor?**

With high customisability comes a little complexity. Structuring a clinical database takes time, clarity on study objectives, and lots of patience.

Data entry with in-built calculation tools helps in making databases that can used on the go, in real time. Retrospective data entry is a thing of the past.

Simplified method for data collection, user-friendly management of the dataset, simplified analysis once the dataset is completed. Significant increase in performance of our R&D group.

**What do you like best about Castor?**

Access to the database is the main advantage of utilising Castor. It gives a general perspective, allows several profesors to work in the same database, tracks changes in the data as well as the causes of such changes. making it simple for me to give the database to others. I may also choose to limit someone's access to only the pertinent data, if they wish.

**What do you dislike about Castor?**

A more interactive display of the patients who were included and omitted would be nice. making use of colours. I must additionally complete the email address in the first list when submitting a survey to a student, staff or teacher by selecting the "update email" step. This seems like a needless procedure that also leaves possibility for mistake.

Additionally, I would need the ability to ask CASTOR to deliver a single output file rather than individual files for each survey when extracting data.

**What problems is Castor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

a database with fixed data, which makes it impossible to enter the incorrect action for each question or data box since the results are predetermined. When using Excel there is a danger. Additionally, by allowing students to complete the surveys, I can instantly convert their responses into datapoints and save spending hours manually filling up each questionnaire's data in SPSS.

Using castor, we saved a lot of time and resources and increased our productivity 2x due to efficiently sorting data into different schemas.

**What do you dislike about Castor?**

As for me, there is no downside, but it usually takes time to start. But I would recommend that they can refine their UI a little bit more.

We were given a simple and user-friendly solution by Castor to manage documentation for a huge number of tables. We can now take advantage of the work we undertake on data governance to provide our data employees autonomy and increase their efficiency.

**What do you like best about Castor?**

The major benefit of using Castor is having alway access to the database. It provides an overview and the posibility of multiple researchers working in one database and monitors changes and reasons for change of data. Making it easy for me to trust others with the database. If prefered I can also decide not to give someone full-access but only access to the relevant data.

**What do you dislike about Castor?**

I would like to have a more interactive view of included and excluded patients. Incorporating collors. Additionally when sending a survey to a patient, I am obligated to fill out the email adress also in the first list through a 'change email' action. This feels as an unnessecary action, also creating room for error.
I additionally would like an option to, when extracting data, requesting CASTOR to provide 1 output file, instead of separate files per survey.

**Recommendations to others considering Castor:**

There are multiple data management software packages of which Castor is one of the providers you can choose from. I recomment Castor as its easy to use with quick and easy support. They help me build my database the way I want to be. Some of the other providers request you to be more experienced. If this is not the case, Castor is really easy.

**What problems is Castor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A database with fixed data, meaning that it is not possible to provide the wrong action per question/data box as the outcomes are predefined. This is a risk using Excel or SPSS. Additionally I can let patients fill out the questionnaires, directly translating this into datapoints, no more manually filling out data in SPSS per questionnaires, saving hours.

**What do you like best about Castor?**

Castor is VERY user friendly. We do several studies with over 40 different studies, therefore a lot of new staff needs to be trained for our CRF. Since we use Castor we find less 'user mistakes' in the data we collect. The forms are filled out intuitively which saves a lot of time for monitoring and improves our data quality. Besides that Castor is fast, and the helpdesk is always available in case we need them.

**What do you dislike about Castor?**

Currently nothing. Sometimes we run into features that we want to have in our eCRF and so far Castor always worked with us to make sure we get those features.

**Recommendations to others considering Castor:**

If you are looking for eCRF's for research purposes I would highly recommend Castor after having used several other systems.

**What problems is Castor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data being lost because research nurses do not know exactly how or where to fill the data! This was a major problem with previous eCRF's that we used in 10 different countries. Also problems with randomisation where solved as this feature is inside the eCRF.

**What do you like best about Castor?**

Since I saw this system, it seemed ideal to try it, and since then I have liked to use it, for its good and friendly interface, this system has been able to adapt to the most demanding clinical standards of my business, has been able to provide me with an excellent database of the different studies that I carry out in my laboratory and also to keep a record of each patient.

Thanks to the number of functions that this system has, my team has been able to be efficient in their respective tasks, since it has been possible to optimize delivery times for clinical studies and leaving clients satisfied with the work done. Also, I liked the attention provided by the technical support staff, who have been very attentive and professional, able to correct any system error.

**What do you dislike about Castor?**

At the moment I have no complaints about this system, I feel very satisfied using this software.

**Recommendations to others considering Castor:**

If your business consists of a clinical laboratory or clinic, I believe that this system is ideal for you, without a doubt this system is economical and has many functions capable of speeding up your work in the best way and manner.

Thanks to this system, we can maintain a controlled order of the entire database that my company counts on, allowing us to review and carry out an analysis of the patterns produced by each medical study carried out. It has also allowed us to gain time in decision-making, thanks to the detailed reports that can be issued by the system and that are very understandable.

Thanks to Castor EDC, we have been able to elevate our service pattern to an international standard, which allows us to self-evaluate in relation to the level of quality of service and customer service, among many other functions.

**What do you like best about Castor?**

Castor does was it promises to do, has a lot of features and is flexible to use. The help section is nice and informative. At some point I wanted to extend the duration of using the system, and Castor was very helpful. I like the feature of sending and exporting questionnaires very much. This way I can make sure that data is never lost.

**What do you dislike about Castor?**

I had a problem once when the system went offline without warning me in advance. The automatic questionnaires were not sent and I would have liked to get a message about that, since it is very important for my research that questionnaires are sent in time. I also would like to get a warning if a questionnaire is sent to a non existing e-mail adress. Furthermore, sometimes exporting data is difficult, because I have multiple pages with records. If I change the page to show me all records, this change disappears every time I reload the page. At the beginning, it took me some time to learn how to use the website, because the tabs are a bit difficult. For example, I struggled with the difference between the tabs 'structure' and 'form'.

With Castor I don't have to worry about the safety of my data. The system also works really well for sending questionnaires.

The lack of being able to change the layout, even if it's small simple changes
Having to use unique variables over different visits that capture the exact same data.

Castor is free untill you go Live with your study. So you can try it out free of charge. See how it works, see what all you can do with the EDC. 
It prevents you of having to combine different data capture applications such as survey and/or randomization-applications.
Castor keeps improving often with upgrades every 3 to 4 months.

**What problems is Castor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Castor has a discount price for all researchers within Amsterdam UMC. Amsterdam UMC and Castor are working on having a total collaboration with each other.

While the forms are customizable to a large extent, the user interface is standard - but with our new navigation and design we hope that you won't need to change the layout at all! Further, if you are capturing the same data across study visits, we recommend using repeated measures. Then you can use the same variables and forms across the study.

**What do you like best about Castor?**

From the very beginning the support from Castor has been excellent. Their team provided a very good demonstration of the database and help put together a competitive and comprehensive package for our multicentre clinical trial. I found the database incredibly intuitive to use and this made populating a CRF very easy. We like it so much we have set up other studies with the same database system across our research facility.

**What do you dislike about Castor?**

We have no concerns regarding the database at present - initially several years ago we did encounter some limitations on mobile platforms but these have all been ironed out with regular updates and support from Castor.

**What problems is Castor solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A particular challenge with our study is that it is international and therefore the data capture and audit is often done remotely. As a sponsor site we required a system that would allow us to easily audit the data quality, raise any queries and have a system to track these changes. Castor EDC ticks all the boxes.
