Regarding your comment on security scanning, it is true that CAST Highlight is not a Static Application Security Testing (SAST) product. CAST has another product called the CAST Engineering Dashboard which performs SAST. The ability to assess my client's entire application portfolio of custom software as well as COTS, side by side in one platform, really made our cloud migration smooth. With CAST Highlight we were able to identify the low-hanging-fruit for cloud native transformation within the Tidal Migrations platform, and then dig deeper into specific areas of the codebases where we would need to focus on to be successful. CAST Highlight lets us use data to make decisions. Previously, we would spend hours and weeks working with clients in meetings and workshops to identify which applications to take to cloud, and how. Now we are able to apply software analysis to the problem, distilling our application portfolio down to a series of easy to understand software engineering metrics that are difficult to challenge. HL played a role not only in quickly providing us with an objective assessment of the portfolio we were looking to transform but through its CVE analysis brought to our attention certain risks we were not aware of at the time. The insights that surfaced after running the analysis significantly sped up our focus areas , decision making processes and we are actively using HL to monitor and trend the progress of a rationalization initiative and migration to the cloud of key apps. What do you dislike about CAST Highlight? so far we have not found much to dislike, the Highlight guys are constantly adding new features and expanding the offering which is keeping us on our toes. Try and it for your clients in support of their cloud migration initiatives it will provide an excellent baseline assessment and starting point from which to plan and monitor which has been a key differentiator for us. What problems is CAST Highlight solving and how is that benefiting you? we have used HL to identify a key set of portfolio rationalization initiatives and are running it on our clients cloud migration projects as well as monitoring progress. Now looking to explore the use of the agile analytics feature to provide an objective view on comparable team delivery. our most note-able benefits to date have been the quick turn around of analysis and insight at a portfolio level which has greatly focused and sped up decision making on strategic initiatives.
