When I get stuck on how to do something, I go to chat and very quickly they solve my challenge. When I have some complex scenarios to solve such as having 2 y-axis on a chart that use different scales, they came to the rescue. **What do you dislike about Caspio?** The least favorite thing about Caspio (though not a dislike by any means) is creating multi variable charts with multiple axis because it does require knowledge of code that I've been able to get Caspio support to do. So while that isn't easy, they did it for me, so for me, that was easy. **What problems is Caspio solving and how is that benefiting you?** I needed an online member portal to track client goals, financials, and other data-intensive information. Caspio made it easy to create a members portal where members can login and create or update goals, financials, etc and we can go in and create or modify what they do. It allows us to work together on their objectives and has simplified the back and forth that shared docs and email used to provide. ### 2. We then decided to develop our in-house solution. We needed the ability to create a relatively complex solution within only a few days ahead of us. With strict requirements imposed by federal and provincial personal information privacy legislation (Canada), the list of contenders was very short. Caspio was then selected as the most viable option. Not the cheapest, but the most flexible and "customizable". After one week, with some basic knowledge, we managed to roll out the first version of the app, which has now been used daily by more than 4200 workers. Caspio team members provided me with guidance and expertise when I needed it. The customer service is responsive and efficient. Their platform is simple, efficient, and reliable. ### 4. It is based on an Access-like table framework. Love the low-code, no-code features, love the YouTube library and live sessions with Ned, love the templates, love the fact that we're not limited to a number of lines (like Kintone), and love that we can make the app and its dashboards look beautiful and pleasing to the eye. I love that my Managers, as they become more familiar with the tool, will be able to change wording without a developer. Love the speed with which we can create apps and the speed with which we can make changes. After literally years of trying different platforms to customize grants monitoring software to each client, we found Caspio and so far are very happy. **What do you dislike about Caspio?** It is a bit more complicated than I anticipated, but that level of complexity provides us more features and opportunities for customization. So we can live with the complexity. We still use Caspio developers, but the cost overall is much less than developing coding from scratch. **What problems is Caspio solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have automated our grants monitoring processes to a greater idea as well as adopted Caspio for HR, marketing, and knowledge base apps. The limitation on the PDF formatting ability has a slight effect on how we present and display our data for our users. So, there are a lot of conversations and details discussed up front with people who were not part of the group I ultimately ended up working with on projects to whom I had to re-explain details or fill in gaps about the bigger picture. The training and documentation I've been provided over the years from Caspio has given me a new service to offer my staff building my job security. **What do you dislike about Caspio?** There is a steep learning curve for doing more complex actions, and the documentation is sometimes out of date due to the updates Caspio rolls out. A few years back, I shared the Workflow with a major ITSM Vendor, who said I would be better off designing and building the proposed solution myself. There are a solid set of template apps that helped speed our evaluation process. **What do you dislike about Caspio?** When working with a new supplier, I always find that the most significant test is when something goes wrong and how they handle it. This happened very early on in our evaluation. We required more time to get buy-in from our stakeholders. The free trial is 14 days in duration. We were happy to pay to continue our evaluation and so bought a monthly plan. What we missed was the small print that said all plans were a minimum one-year term. Although this is written on their website, it is in the smallest font size. I would usually consider tactics like this to be UX dark patterns. I wanted to give Caspio the benefit of the doubt so I asked if we could get out of this 1-year term as we were still in evaluation. They were insistent that we were now bound to the one-year contract. We went back and forth over this for weeks. In the end, we terminated our relationship with Caspio as there are many other providers that have more modern products and (most importantly in this case), better post-sales support. **What problems is Caspio solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were building a volunteer management system.
