The most helpful thing about Capdesk for me is the ability to jump in at any time and see exactly who owns what, when options vest etc. We also use the email feature each month to send investor updates. And the new dashboard which has been redesigned is a great source of information during fundraising (I often screenshot the charts - maybe a download PNG button would be nice at some point - and maybe Capdesk branded?) The Cap Table, Round Modelling and HMRC exports save a lot of time when needing to file/share info with 3rd parties. The dashboards give a clear view of ownership both fully diluted and undiluted. The integration with Docusign has woeful support. We ended up having to disconnect it because we were stuck between Capdesk and Docusign when it wouldn't work and so now we pay for each envelope despite having our own Docusign account which is annoying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Carta is a cap table management platform. It's something that can be relatively well done using even a simple excel spreadsheet and dropbox folder. However, Carta does candidly make it easier to manage (and importantly for employees) to view your equity within the business. After a "teaser" price for 1 year, Carta representative reached out saying they're tripling (3x) the cost of our license for the subsequent year. It's not impossible, but definitely inconvenient to transition. We will be offboarding, but it's been a headache.
