The platform centralizes equity information in one place, which is convenient for viewing your current grant balances and upcoming vesting schedules at a glance. First, the UI is noticeably slow — basic navigation feels sluggish for what should be a straightforward data platform. Second, finding historical transaction records (grants, vesting events, exercises) is unnecessarily difficult. There's no reliable way to filter or search by specific fields, so reviewing your equity history becomes a tedious manual hunt every time. The most alarming issue, however, surfaced during a company acquisition cashout. Settled shares were displayed as "Canceled or Terminated" — the exact same label used for previously mis-issued or voided grants. No visual distinction whatsoever. During a high-stakes liquidity event, that kind of misleading status display causes real panic. Equity is hard-earned, and employees shouldn't have to wonder whether their shares were actually wiped out because of sloppy UI labeling. I’ve used this platform for several years and was initially very happy with it. A while ago, the platform was completely overhauled, and now it’s practically unusable. Multiple features were stripped away entirely, and the user experience has plummeted. For instance, you can no longer auto-fill all the essential information into option agreements like you used to, and there is no way to preview the agreements before sending them out for signature. It basically acts as the bridge between me and my employer when it comes to managing my equity, no endless emails, no paperwork, no confusion. When my company granted me equity, I expected a lot of admin and back-and-forth, but Carta handled it all smoothly. I could see my vesting schedule, understand what I owned, and even manage or purchase equity directly on the platform without needing help from HR or finance. It just worked. The best part is how little effort it takes on both sides. Carta does all the heavy lifting behind the scenes, so I don’t have to chase anyone for confirmations or details. Bad practices of onboarding customers such as if there are mutual investors then Carta is mandatory as a captable platform (if you are raising funds be sure to negotiate and not have Carta in the Term Sheets etc.) 3. Very expensive as compared to the competitrs 4. No Customer Support for smaller clients what so ever and the customer success is really rude. 5.
