Zola was the best option compared during our initial testing of multiple firm management software. I personally reviewed and went over other competitors but did not like the UI and overall structure. Zola has an up-to-date interface that looks "modern" if you will, while it seemed like most others were stuck in the past. We pride our firm on being up to date with technology and being able to navigate the software without antiquated menu after menu is a must. I really do enjoy the layout and feature set provided, it's the same as any other offering but they extend this on its simplicity. Keeping track of accounting and case matters is really simple, and the invoice generator to show minute by minute what YOU did, and how you earned that fee, is paramount. I've been able to upload multiple gigabyte files to the case documents section without any sort of warning or rejection. Anytime we have had problems Zola has responded swiftly and corrected issues, even adding a new feature one time. They are big enough to get integrations into other websites, platforms, etc., but they are small enough to still be "reachable." Pricing was on par if not exceptionally better in some cases than the competition. You get absolutely more features per buck. I personally think to even begin to fully utilize the vast amount of tools they provide, you would have to be in a firm with multiple attorneys. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Personally, I find their iOS app to be lacking at times. By a LONG shot, it is the best software for firm management on the go, but that doesn't mean it can't be improved. The app can sometimes crash at in-opportunistic times like inputting times to a matter and you have to go back through again and re-enter. Some of the UI for the app is not exactly user-friendly either, it feels like it was a webpage turned into an app. With that being said, none of these issues are present on the webpage version of the software. It seems to only be the fact that they had to make an app work in Apple's ecosystem, which isn't their primary focus. I do most everything on my laptop anyway, so I rarely see these issues, but occasionally when I do submit times on the go I experience said problems. I don't use Zola as my primary email client, but my paralegal uses it to keep tag emails and communications to case files. I like the simplicity of my other email app which is faster on iOS. I can't blame Zola for that, as they are creating a firm management software first, not an email client only. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
