This has been discussed multiple times in team meetings with other employees and we all have issues with the inconsistent travel record in Ohio. It doesn’t always run, it sometimes stops tracking, and randomly logs you out so you have to enter credentials to get back in. **What do you dislike about Cardata?** Everything - the user experience for confirming mileage looks like an embedded google sheets document. A recent example of why I don’t like the app: I confirmed the app was tracking me at the beginning of my day (which you have to do because it isn’t reliable). The first part of my trip was tracked successfully but the second leg of 150+ miles, was not at all. So now I get to go back and guesstimate on my mileage and reimbursement. This isn’t the first time this has happened. The app has also stopped tracking in heavy congestion and doesn’t always start back up after through the congestion…how many miles have I lost in these situations? Dunno. For several months I ended up subscribed to another mileage tracking app just to get a second opinion on my monthly miles - Cardata never matched the other apps miles and was always much less. This should not be an exhausting effort added to the daily to do list for traveling sales reps. Set it and forget it because it is reliable should be the goal. Epic fail. **What problems is Cardata solving and how is that benefiting you?** It really isn’t solving any problems…causing more headaches. A CAR PROGRAM THAT NO ONE IS HAPPY WITH **Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** James V. | Sales Rep, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2022 **What do you like best about Cardata?** It's simple to input data on the website. **What do you dislike about Cardata?** The WORST part about this is the inaccuracy of the compensation. It is supposed to "average" the cost of gas per your location. However, the cardata program significantly under-rates gas prices. For example, in this past month of March, car data has calculated the average gas in my area (San Marcos, TX) as $3.12 cents a gallon. GAS HASN'T BEEN $3.12/GAL WITHIN THE LAST 2-3 MONTHS. At the start of the month, the cleanest price was already $3.70 and by the end of the month, we are well into the $4.00 mark. Where are they finding this gas station with an average of $3.12/gal? Please tell me, so I can go there and pour gas. As a result of underrating the cost of gas, there will be a certain point in your monthly milages that you will start losing money. This discourages the employee (traveling sales) to stop driving/working. So if you only want mediocre employees, get cardata. Every one of my colleagues that are on this program hates it. The final issue is, when you travel, there is a HIGH likelihood that you are not going to be pouring gas in your own city (where the gas price is based on). There is a 99.9% chance that the gas at the places you are traveling to is going to be higher. The only exception is if you live in Los Angeles or some city that has a the highest gas prices in your state. **Recommendations to others considering Cardata:** If you are looking for a milage tracking car program, this isnt it. **What problems is Cardata solving and how is that benefiting you?** If cardata can actually get the correct rating on "average fuel cost" within a your area, that would be great. **Official Response from Torben Robertson:** > Hi James. The initial set up was fairly easy and user friendly. The app is clean and the interface is easy to navigate. **What do you dislike about Cardata?** I dislike that you must have your location tracker constantly on and the variable rate for milage is well below what we should be getting. I lose money every time I travel for business **Recommendations to others considering Cardata:** In my opinion Cardata is not the best provider for vehicle/ mileage reimbursement. I have use other providers that offered an easier and better paying service. **What problems is Cardata solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have not received much of a benefit from using Cardata. If anything, it has been a liability for by business use. Invasion of privacy **Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2022 **What do you like best about Cardata?** Nothing, the constant tracking far out weights the few minutes it saves me tracking milage. **What do you dislike about Cardata?** Constant tracking, I've caught the app using registering my location at 1 AM on a Saturday, even with the scheduling turned off. There's absolutely no reason for the app to be active and tracking on a Saturday, never mind @ 1 AM. The app won't run if you are using your phone's power-saving feature, so not only are you being tracked but it's reducing your phone's battery life. The fuel map is significantly under-priced, so you're being reimbursed at a lower rate than what you're paying for gas.
