Additionally -- lots of "subscription date" invalid errors which means the installation is hosed -- you need to delete carbonite, reinstall, and then do a backup -- this happened three times and my backup takes > 48 hours to run from a clean start. **What problems is Carbonite Safe solving and how is that benefiting you?** None - using carbonite actually causes more problems. ### 3. Then you have to manually go thru all the thousands of your files on your computer one by one, and use a 4-click (per file) option to add each individual file to the backup. Plus it only mirrors what is actually on your computer. If you offload a file to an external hard drive to save space, that file disappears from your backup. **What problems is Carbonite Safe solving and how is that benefiting you?** I was trying to protect my files so, in case of a computer or external hard drive crash, I could restore what was lost. ### 4. Did like it at first. Support was good. **What do you dislike about Carbonite Safe?** Doesn't get temp files like edge shortcuts. Had a heck of a time with PSTs. **What problems is Carbonite Safe solving and how is that benefiting you?** On line backup of PCs and Macs. Restores went fairly smoothly until you were looking for some specific files. ### 5. This is extremely frustrating and I have had one ticket-unresolved for over 12 months. **What do you dislike about Carbonite Safe?** I dislike dealing with representatives who claim my issue has been resolved and it is not. **What problems is Carbonite Safe solving and how is that benefiting you?** My data is protected, if I should ever lose it. ### 6. It runs in the background of your computer. **What do you dislike about Carbonite Safe?** It dramatically slowed my computer and made using other programs difficult. **What problems is Carbonite Safe solving and how is that benefiting you?** Backing up legal documents and other sensitive files. It has been a no stress way for us to do this, although we have since changed to another software. ### 7. I was asked to reset my password when I tried to log on, and subsequently not permitted to reset it until I answered security questions that, quite frankly, I could not answer unless I was actually logged into my account. After 2 attempts to work with customer service and getting nowhere,, I paid someone to pull the files off my old hard drive and cancelled Carbonite service. Ironically they gave me no issue about questioning my identity as the account holder when I called, lol. I mean, I could have been anyone. They also said they could get me access to my account now if I wanted. Of course they could, they could have done that all along, and they chose not to. I'll be keeping my backups on Google drive and flash drives from now on. They did provide a hard drive copy of our shared drive when we were hit with a Ransonware attack, which we had to pay for, so I guess that is a positive ### 9.
