## Carbonite Safe Reviews
  ### 1. Time to Move On

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** PAULETTE E. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2017

**What do you like best about Carbonite Safe?**

The dependability of this storage resource has been a professional life saver for me. The fact that it is constantly running in the background in the cloud gives me peace of mind and worth the annual subscription I've paid for quite a few years. Their customer service has also been quite good each time I've contacted them.

**What do you dislike about Carbonite Safe?**

Their updates often trigger the need to reinstall the software rather than being seamless. While it's not difficult to do, it's annoying to have to do it. They never send out a notice to update, and it's only when getting a notice that the backup hasn't occurred for a certain period of time do you then realize it needs to be reinstalled.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbonite Safe:**

If you want one less thing to worry about in your business, and one less piece of hardware in your office, Carbonite has proven to be an excellent answer for me.

**What problems is Carbonite Safe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was with Carbonite for many years and was great when I first came on board with them. It was automatically running in the background and I felt confident I had a reliable backup in case there was a disaster of any kind. Their price was reasonable. I started looking elsewhere when I got tired of having to repeatedly reinstall the software because an upgrade was done. I also discovered the online backup was incomplete when I downloaded the backup to a new computer. Plus the price was going up.

  ### 2. Good but pricey

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathalie B. | Great app to use for the company , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Carbonite Safe?**

I enjoy that it basically has unlimited storage and i don't have to worry about deleting anything in order to make more room.

**What do you dislike about Carbonite Safe?**

The price is kind of high for what this app does. If you store to much stuff the videos tend to load slower then usual.

**What problems is Carbonite Safe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like that it's a quick way to send photos to other people who are also connected to the account so they can send feedback right away.

  ### 3. A painful experience, especially during restores

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2018

**What do you like best about Carbonite Safe?**

The best part about this software is how easy it is to set up. You simply choose the folders and files that you want on the cloud, and it will automatically upload them whenever they are changed. It's a nice system, and was one of the first that could back up to the cloud in this way.

**What do you dislike about Carbonite Safe?**

We have many clients that use various backup methods, so I've worked with many different configurations. I will say that the Mac support is really minimal. The software requires reinstallation sometimes, and backups will not go through for a week at a time until you find out there's a problem. Aside from Macs, the restore process takes way too long. If you use the web interface to restore, good luck - the web page will time you out during the upload, which effectively cancels the upload and you have to start over. So that means if you are restoring large files, you need to click in the window every 5 minutes so you don't get logged off. I haven't restored for a while, but when I did the bandwidth was extremely slow even though on my end it is very fast.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbonite Safe:**

Look more at other software. Carbonite has a lot of competitors. If all you are concerned with is price, Carbonite may be what you're looking for. But, if you have large files, you may want to consider a different alternative.

**What problems is Carbonite Safe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Carbonite is a low cost cloud backup solution that works on Macs and PCs.

  ### 4. Backup solution for windows

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mary C. | Therapeutic Activities Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2018

**What do you like best about Carbonite Safe?**

I like how it's a trusted software. No issues with backup and recovery of documents.

**What do you dislike about Carbonite Safe?**

Nothing, I haven't personally had any issues with it.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbonite Safe:**

I think it's a good solution for software and other company's to use.

**What problems is Carbonite Safe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

portfolio backups. File safety from viruses and deletion.

  ### 5. Better Choices Available

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2017

**What do you like best about Carbonite Safe?**

Carbonite is easy to install and easy to understand for our end users.

**What do you dislike about Carbonite Safe?**

It has a tendency to run poorly on Macbook/laptop computers, but works well for our desktop users. The inconsistency makes it hard to recommend.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbonite Safe:**

I recommend Carbonite as a hands off solution. We have several users that don't realize it's running on their system and a few that feel like it slows their system considerably. We've tried the solutions presented by Carbonite, but have not had any luck. My suggestion is to run the trial. I think most people will be very happy with the performance.

**What problems is Carbonite Safe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Backup multiple computers/users with no network connectivity.

  ### 6. Pros and Cons

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Heather R. | Associate Senior Help Desk Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2017

**What do you like best about Carbonite Safe?**

I like how you can have Carbonite backup your files as soon as you make changes. Very easy to install and setup. You can setup your own backup policy for your company. This is very beneficial to minimize the amount of space backups take.

**What do you dislike about Carbonite Safe?**

The biggest dislike is that it is almost impossible to get your backup files downloaded from the cloud backup. I have tried to download a 5 GB backup file and it would either fail or take 4 hrs. Would be great if Carbonite would get this function working better.

**Recommendations to others considering Carbonite Safe:**

The software is very easy to use. Has a lot of great features. You can set your own backup policy for your company. Make sure you setup a policy for your company. The Carbonite default policy backs up way too much and takes a lot of space. The backup dashboard is great. The software is very easy to setup. I would use an on premise solution and not the cloud. The only issue we have with this is it takes a very long time to download your recovered backups from the cloud. If you have a smaller size backup, they download a lot faster. Overall we like the software very much and we continue to use it.

**What problems is Carbonite Safe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem that we are solving is that all of our remote users and laptop users can always have up to date files backed up. This is a huge benefit if a hard drive were to crash.

  ### 7. Mozy Backup Performance

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2018

**What do you like best about Carbonite Safe?**

I like that Mozy backs up my files! If I need a new laptop then I have all my files already backed up!

**What do you dislike about Carbonite Safe?**

Mozy is very resource heavy.. it slows my laptop down!

**What problems is Carbonite Safe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Backing up files to avoid issues due to pc crashes

  ### 8. MozyPro not all it's cracked up to be

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Security and Investigations | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2016

**What do you like best about Carbonite Safe?**

MozyPro has some great features; Easy set up, web based management console, rules which allow you to manage an entire organization.

**What do you dislike about Carbonite Safe?**

The biggest problem with Mozy has been it's reliability. We have had to manually update, stop the service and restart, completely uninstall and reinstall and critical data has been lost by backups. Too unreliable over 60+ workstations to recommend

**Recommendations to others considering Carbonite Safe:**

Make sure you have redundant backups as well to prevent loss of critical data

**What problems is Carbonite Safe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were trying to prevent loss of critical data due to intentional espionage, viruses and other unintentional methods. We have had some success in restoring data when situations occurred, but also had several failures.
