CapDrop is screen capture software that converts on-screen content into searchable, OCR-enabled PDFs. It addresses the challenge of non-exportable digital content, such as online course slides and ebook viewers, by automating the process from capture to document assembly. Users define a capture area, set a key to advance pages, and allow CapDrop to create a consolidated, searchable PDF without manual intervention. The software uses local OCR to add a text layer beneath images, enabling full-text search while maintaining the original appearance. It automatically crops margins and interface elements for clean results, with all processing done on the user's device. No cloud uploads or data collection occur during operation. CapDrop supports PNG, JPG, and PDF outputs, fitting various workflows such as government filings or internal approvals. It integrates with drag-and-drop applications and runs on Windows 10 and later, allowing activation on two devices with transferable licenses.
