Capacity and Route Planning is the planning module of Libera, the freight TMS built by ElasticRun. It handles the questions a dispatcher answers on every load: from deciding how many vehicles are needed, what type, which route each should take, and how to sequence the loading and replans automatically when demand or conditions change. Vehicle quantity is set from actual demand, not a fixed schedule, so trucks aren't dispatched half-empty. Vehicle type is matched to each load's weight and dimensions. Routing picks the shortest-time, lowest-cost path for every vehicle rather than a single default route applied to all shipments. The loading sequence is worked out for safe stacking and the right drop order along the route. The system also flags when it's cheaper to hold or club loads instead of dispatching immediately and applies that logic at every planning cutoff. Because ElasticRun ran its own pan-India freight network for a decade before building this, the planning logic is based on constraints operators actually deal with, like fragmented vendor capacity, rising diesel cost, and lanes that don't behave the same way twice. Planning runs as an AI agent: it proposes the plan, a person reviews and approves it, and the plan updates itself the moment something changes, like a cancelled load, a delayed truck, a new booking, instead of waiting for the next manual re-run. On the numbers Libera's customers report, better rate sourcing and fewer empty runs together account for roughly ₹13–20 of the ₹20–30 saved per ₹100 of freight spend.
