Once you grasp that grade items in the gradebook are predicated upon assignments and other activities, the whole system begins to make sense. **What problems is Canvas LMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Canvas for a variety of use cases, across our campus. The answer to each enhancement request cannot be "use an LTI" or "it's on the road map for 2037". I am still surprised that I have not been able to get Canvas support to capture item-level data from SCORM packages. Functionality is much less obfuscated on the adfin panel than other LMS I have previously been an administrator for. **What do you dislike about Canvas LMS?** Occasionally permissions could be more granular/more descriptive. I find sometimes that I am not able to separate out permissions for certain user groups to prevent them from having more access than desired while still allowing them to use the full functionality they need. **What problems is Canvas LMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** Previously, we had issues with core functionality and usability of our previous LMS (Blackboard). In addition, when planning to migrate to Blackboard Ultra, we discovered that large swaths of functionality was being removed, and that it was an easier process to transition to Canvas. ### 24. The rich text editor makes it easy to create content. I like the wide variety of LTI tools available and the ability to integrate 3rd party homework systems. **What do you dislike about Canvas LMS?** Our biggest pain point with Canvas is the gradebook. I'm not sure why it insists on averaging by points and doesn't even give an option to average by percentage. Our faculty then have to jump through hoops to engineer their assignments to all have the same number of points in order for similar assignments to be weighted the same. **What problems is Canvas LMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** It gives our department the ability to coordinate courses, giving students a familiar layout across courses. ### 29. The Canvas Community and resources are exceptional. **What do you dislike about Canvas LMS?** There are certain things that our staff was used to in our previous LMS, especially the flexibility of the gradebook. The staff at Canvas is very willing to listen to our needs but a lot of the desired functionality in the gradebook, like being able to add a custom column, requires custom development and a large price tag. **What problems is Canvas LMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** LMS for full distance learning, hybrid learning options, efficiency for teachers, and providing expanded learning opportunities for students. ### 35.
