"Flexible Content Management with a Learning Curve, But Worth the Effort"
4/5
What do you like best about Canto?

Canto has allowed my team to organize our content in a way that makes sense for us and our customers who have access to our Brand Portal. I enjoy the ability to tag, keyword, and cross assign assets to multiple folders where needed, instead of having to upload the same file several times in different folders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

There can be a bit of a learning curve in terms of best-practices on how to best organize your content, but their webinars and new updates have made it more self-explanatory. It's not a one-size-fits-all, but if you put in the strategy and work to create a system that works best for you, it will be beneficial. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A great platform to house all your content in one place."
5/5
What do you like best about Canto?

My experience with this platform has been nothing but positive. One of my favorite features in Canto is how easy it is to manage file updates. I can simply replace an existing file without needing to delete or reupload anything, and all the previous versions are stored in the version history for easy reference. This makes asset management incredibly efficient. It’s intuitive and saves me a lot of time when uploading and sorting content.

As a creative designer using Canto daily, I rely on it heavily throughout my workflow. It’s a dependable resource I constantly reference while developing new materials. On top of that, the customer support team is always quick to respond and very helpful whenever I need assistance. Canto is extremely user friendly, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone managing a large volume of digital assets across teams or departments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

The only area of Canto that I find slightly inconvenient is the need to create albums within folders, rather than being able to drop files directly into a folder. That said, I understand this structure supports better organization, so I wouldn't necessarily change it. Another thing that would be helpful is when you delete files if you are able to just delete a version versus the whole item. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Maeghan Durbin of Canto

Nikeeta,

WOW—this review made my day! We love to hear that our customers feel so supported by our customer support team (they're pretty great)! We're also glad to hear that you find the platform user-friendly and that it helps you in handling multiple types of assets as a graphic designer.

We understand your feedback about creating albums within folders and will definitely take it into consideration for future improvements. If you have any more suggestions or questions, please feel free to reach out. Thank you for recommending Canto, and we look forward to continuing to support you!

"Efficient, User-Friendly, and Reliable"
5/5
What do you like best about Canto?

The best thing about canto is how quickly you are able to view assets once you've uploaded them. The search works really well, and there's loads of time saving features like AI tagging and creating upload links so that our photographers can upload directly into the system. It's been very straight-forward to implement and it's naturally integrated in our workflow. We use Canto most days and its reliable and does a great job of helping us find the right images so we can focus on design. On a few occasions where we've needed additional support, the customer support has been excellent and you feel valued as a customer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

Like any big business, they are led by their clients and build their platform in response to the different scales and requirements that they need. As a smaller use case, some of the new features like Brand Studio look amazing, but they aren't realistic for us as our requirements are weighted differently to the different packages they offer. In an ideal world I'd love to see a basic package with one admin, then the option to add additional template and exports so that it works for our use case. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Portal Feature Boosts Organization and Adoption of Materials"
5/5
What do you like best about Canto?

The Portal feature is the most useful for our business. Being able to sort and show assets in multiple portals as the needs of different areas of the business dictate is incredibly useful.

The way the system handles duplicates and allowing to see and view similar files easily is also a feature we use regularly and helps to keep things organised and tidy across our remote teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

The UI of Canto can sometimes feel a little dated, but the usability of it is very good, so doesn't impact too much. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effective Media Management, but Integration Hurdles"
3/5
What do you like best about Canto?

I appreciate the facial recognition and AI tools in Canto that help us find photos and videos fast and efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

A lot of the terminology is very confusing in Canto, with terms like portals, workspaces, albums versus folders being particularly tricky. It can be a little confusing. Also, setting up the organizational tools is challenging compared to actually using them. We've tried to integrate it with Adobe and faced many roadblocks with that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Reagan Cola of Canto

Hi Cassie, it’s great to hear how facial recognition and Canto’s AI tools are helping your team find photos and videos quickly! That's exactly what they’re there for.

We hear you on the implementation feeling a bit challenging at times, and that’s something we’re actively working to make more intuitive.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience, we’re glad to have you as part of the Canto community! – Reagan

"Effective digital asset management tool for marketing photography"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Canto?

I appreciate that Canto allows shared access to photo content across an organization; this provides a curated inventory of photography we can all draw from for marketing purposes without having to make individual requests. It cuts down on email volume and file sharing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

The filters, keyword searches, and tags feel clunky and sometimes difficult to find content. It's one of those "output is only as good as the input scenarios" and my organization has gotten better with curating tags to make this a more useable feature over time. "Seamless Collaboration, Stellar Asset Management"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Canto?

I really appreciate Canto's external sharing capabilities and find it intuitive for our sales team to navigate. It effectively saves us from the hassle of email back and forth and ensures our team stays aligned on creative. Setting it up was very easy, even though dealing with internal assets took some effort. I also value the attentive customer service team and the great support from our account team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

I wish there were capabilities to edit the assets included in share links rather than having to make a new one. I also wish we were able to draft approval hub flows before pushing them out to the broader team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Search and Access Controls, but Organizing Collections Needs Improvement"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Canto?

I like the ability to search, make portals, and crate different accessibility levels for all of the teams that need different priorities. Customer support is also very helpful and the calls are nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

I am retroactively cleaning up our Canto setup so the only downside I have found is the organizing tool. It is sometimes difficult to move collections of items from one album directly to another without other steps in between. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Reagan Cola of Canto

Hello Neelly, our support team will be happy to hear your kind words. It’s great to know that features like search, portals, and access controls are helping your team work efficiently. We also appreciate your feedback on organizing collections and will share your comments with our product team. Cheers, Reagan.

"One Central Hub for Digital Assets That Keeps Teams Consistent"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Canto?

Canto gives us a single place to store all our digital assets—images, videos, documents, and brand files—which makes it easier to maintain consistency across teams and avoid duplication. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Canto?

In my opinion, the biggest downside of Canto is the licensing cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
