I was using Canditech in my previous role to hire product managers. In this company, the PM’s worked with a wide variety of different teams (r&d, customer success, and marketing), so we needed to make sure they had great time management, communication, and prioritization skills, together with a good understanding of the development process and product marketing. There was no feature that allows candidates to paint or draw diagrams inside the platform. The solution was a file upload where we asked the candidate to draw their diagram on their own computer and upload a picture. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

In our tests, we were able to add a personal touch and customization by uploading videos of our hiring managers introducing themselves and asking the candidates interview questions to be answered in video as well. Canditech was really great for fast-paced hiring. We sent out a backend test for 50 applicants over the weekend and the next week already interviewed the top 5. We love the candidate’s test report page. It is so easy for us to see each candidates’ scores on the assessments and make quick thumbs up/thumbs down decisions on whether or not we should move forward. Canditech has something called the Experts service, where you can actually upload your tests or meet with them about your tests. We were using our internal tests before Canditech, so it has been great to be able to just quickly send them the tests, have them built inside of our account, and even receive feedback on how to improve them. It is important that our sales engineers possess both sales and technical skills. We use video responses and open text questions to simulate sales calls and email writing. On the technical side, we can easily assess coding and SQL skills. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It’s the first platform I could use for senior developers as well as entry-level developers.

With the entry level applicants, I used coding-challenges and videos. The senior applicants got a realistic job simulation that included code review, code design, and a simple coding project. Data analysts in our company use a lot of excel spreadsheets in their day to day. When we were using similar excel scenarios to test our candidates, it was very time consuming to check all of their work in the excel file. Also, the excel file stayed with the candidates, which contained our internal information.
