**What do you like best about Candidate Labs?**

Their interviews were well done, the candidates came primed and prepared, and their data tracking was detailed and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Candidate Labs?**

We hired two recruiting agencies at the same time, in order to fill the role as quickly as possible.  I have nothing bad to say about CL, although we ended up hiring a candidate from the other agency - I think that candidate was actually on their prospecting list so it was probably more on us for not just giving them the space to own all of the outreach.

They're a great company to work with.

**What problems is Candidate Labs solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We contracted Candidate Labs to help us source a Director of Marketing.  They were clear communicators who helped make the process easy for both potential candidates and our internal team so that nothing slipped through the cracks.  They were really on top of it with followup and speed of communication (which is one of our core values, so it was surprising and welcomed to see that level of owner-like commitment from an agency).

**What do you like best about Candidate Labs?**

They took the time to get to know us as a company and listened intently to what we were looking for in a candidate.  From there, they crafted a thoughtful overview of our company to present to potential candidates, created a comprehensive candidate scorecard to help guide the search, and continuously communicated to our hiring team.  They continued to refine the process by openly accepting and listening to our feedback.  Ultimately, their system proved 100% effective as we hired the best candidate for this role!

I have nothing but positive feedback to provide Candidate Labs!   Their personable and collaborative approach to the recruiting process made the experience all the more positive!

After working with countless recruiters throughout the years, I can honestly say Candidate Labs is second to none!  Their in-depth process from start to finish sets them apart from all others in their industry.

Candidate Labs successfully helped our company hire the Head of Marketing role we had been actively recruiting for via our website, various job boards, and other recruiters.  The process from start to finish was the most favorable search experience!  By trusting Candidate Labs to find the best of the best, we could focus on our day-to-day work and show up for weekly syncs to discuss the candidate pipeline, interviews, etc.  Their professionalism and expertise made the process extremely enjoyable.

Working with Candidate Labs has been a refreshing experience compared to other search firms I have worked with previously. I appreciate my recruiter's candid approach throughout the process, especially the follow-up after each step. Communication & feedback was top-notch.

The only downside is that Candidate Labs is not the sole search firm for all the opportunities I was involved in.

My recruiter was also able to offer individualized guidance & insight on companies' culture, values, and expectations, along with tips on industry salary range and compensation benchmarks. Candidate Labs has a deep understanding of the industry and can identify candidates with the right skills and experience. The firm prioritizes communication and relationship building, which includes regular updates, feedback, and responsiveness, creating a better experience for both companies & candidates.

Candidate Labs was able to provide access to job opportunities that were not necessarily advertised which gives candidates an advantage.

**What do you like best about Candidate Labs?**

I've worked with other recruiters before and always felt the dynamic was very one-sided: the recruiters were always adamantly focused on simply filling the role, and not necessarily focused on finding the right person for the role and have it be a mutually beneficial fit for both sides. With Candidate Labs, I felt that my recruiter was just as focused on understanding what I wanted in my next role, and making sure it was aligned with what I was looking for, as they were focused on finding the right fit for the role for their client, the startup. Once I made it to the offer stage, I had full confidence that this was not only the right company for me, but that I was also the right person for the role as well. Candidate Labs also made the offer stage seamless for me because they managed all of my expectations with their client so that by the time I had an offer, it was already aligned with what I was looking for and all I needed to do was sign.

**What do you dislike about Candidate Labs?**

I can't think of any negatives working with Candidate Labs! The only thing I would have changed in the process is to batch more interviews together (so instead of 1 individual interview, setting up two back to back interviews to minimize having to take time away from your other responsibilities). That being said, this could have been something their client requested and Candidate Labs has no control over.

Be open, honest and genuine with your recruiter at Candidate Labs so they know exactly what you're looking for.

I was looking for a new Growth role at an early stage startup that was passionate about its customers and had a strong, positive team culture with an incredible leadership team. With Candidate Lab's support and help I was able to find my perfect next role and couldn't be more excited to join my new team.

Matt helped me find a new role that builds on my previous experience but is a step up from what I have been doing previously. I am grateful and thrilled that he proactively brought the opportunity to my attention, and for all of his guidance throughout the interview process.

Nothing - in fact, this is the best experience I have ever had working with a placement firm. I had a great experience and would happily work with Matt and Candidate Labs again.

Don't be afraid to ask your recruiting partner for help along the way. Matt was an invaluable partner in providing feedback on my case study, and with negotiations during the offer phase.

**What do you like best about Candidate Labs?**

I like the human contact I had with Candidate Labs as a hiring manager.  I was able to work with their team to articulate my ideal candidate, tuning expectations as the search progressed.  My experience with the team was positive enough that, when I was seeking a new job for myself, I reached out to Candidate Labs directly.  I knew they'd have a solid understanding of the roles for which they were recruiting, making my job hunt a lot easier.

**What do you dislike about Candidate Labs?**

Like with most recruiters, Candidate Labs is best suited for the recruitment of individual contributors, those with 3-5 years of experience. I'd love to see a more senior-focused recruitment version of Candidate Labs in the future!

**Recommendations to others considering Candidate Labs:**

Ultimately, modern recruiting requires a filter to separate suitable candidates from unsuitable candidates (or suitable roles from unsuitable ones). These filters need to change and flex as your search progresses. Whomever you choose as your recruiter, make sure an actual human is available to regularly check in -- one who takes time to both understand your criteria and adjust them as necessary.

As a hiring manager, it's hard to source and filter good candidates. When looking for a job, it's hard to find a truly suitable position.  Candidate Labs has helped me with both by combining a solid search capability with an actual human who's listening to what I need and what I'm looking for.

The communication Lauren and I had was extremely refeshing and helpful having gone through this process multiple times and always ending up frustrated and sending repeated emails. She would always check in with me after every interview and gave me great feedback, as well as preparing me for my next conversation.

**What do you dislike about Candidate Labs?**

There was nothing that I disliked about working with Candidate Labs. Lauren made everything extremely easy for me and really helped relieve a lot of the stress that typically comes with this process.

**Recommendations to others considering Candidate Labs:**

For someone who is searching for a job, I cannot reccomend working with Lauren enough. It was very difficult to find a recruiter who genuinely cared about the process and would stay in touch throughout, but she provided just that.

I was laid off about a month ago and my recruiter, Lauren Howard, reached out on LinkedIn about an exciting opportunity with a growing startup in the healthcare tech space. Over the past month I have worked with a number of recruiters from other companies that have been very non responsive, and did not seem like they cared about helping me find my next role. That was not the case with Candidate Labs. Lauren was extremely communicative throughout the entire process from start to finish, and helped me to feel extremely prepared for every interview/presentation I had. We built a great relationship and she seemed like she was genuinely happy for me to move forward with this opportunity. I cannot recommend Candidate Labs and Lauren enough. I will definitely be working with her again, as well as referring my former colleagues.

I loved how people/candidate-centered the process was. Lauren was always there to answer any questions for me and ensured that I had all the information I might need before and after the interviews with the organization. 

The interviewing experience can be incredibly stressful, but I felt at ease and informed throughout the process. It was nice to feel so cared for as a candidate with their open communication!

I didn't dislike anything! It was a joy to work with Lauren, and although I ultimately took another role in the end, I have to admit that working with Candidate Labs was one of the best experiences I have had working with a search firm.

My only recommendation would be to work with them! I had a great experience as a candidate and would love to work with them as a client in the future as well. If you want to have a headache free experience as a candidate OR a client, I highly recommend using Candidate Labs!

After each interview with the executive team, I had recap calls with my Candidate Labs point of contact to give her my feedback on how the call went. At the same time, she also relayed advice and feedback she was getting from the hiring manager team. This above-and-beyond care and attention to detail impacted my positive impression of the company and how seriously they were taking their candidate search.

Nothing major comes to mind. The only thing I would note was that comms were very concise, which signaled the team was very busy and respected both my time and theirs.

I worked with Emily Kalpan and her team throughout my interview process as a Director for a promising B2B SaaS company in the data management space. I've worked with many recruiting firms throughout my career, and the Candidate Labs team went above and beyond to check in and guide me throughout my interview process with the company's executive team. After a thorough initial screeneing with my Candidate Labs point of contact, I was given a detailed dossier of the propsect company I interviewed with to help me do due diligence on the company and executive team I would be working with. Communications with Candidate Labs was always prompt, direct, and constructive and helped me have clear expectations about how the interview process would progress. I highly recommend working with Candidate Labs as both a hiring manager and as a propsective candidate.

Most talent partners try to fit square pegs into round holes. Travis DeMar and Lauren Howard go deep into their clients' backgrounds, objectives, industries, and needs and map them to candidates that fit the culture, mission, and expertise requirements providing a stellar experience.

**What do you dislike about Candidate Labs?**

There was nothing that I disliked about my experience. Travis and Lauren guided me when I had questions and gave me the autonomy to interact with their client when they felt I could drive the process and establish a deeper relationship. I was always prepared for the next steps and clearly understood the client's expectations. Travis DeMar and Lauren Howard always made themselves available at all hours to consult me and move me through the process. I was able to be transparent about my requirements and expectations so we could map the client's requirements to mine to ensure a great fit.

Although Lauren and Travis never made me feel rushed, slow down with the talent team, and get as much context as possible about the client's interview process, product evolution, financial state and goals, and the team's background. Make sure that you're being vocal, open, and honest about your needs in terms of culture, ELT experience, financial state, product-market fit, salary expectations, skillset of the team, and other factors that may be important to you. You will find the Candidate Labs team knows more about their client's business and objectives than most other recruiting/talent firms you have worked with.

I worked with Travis DeMars, who is one of the most professional and knowledgable recruiters I've ever worked with. He asked great questions, prepped me for all of my interviews/meetings, and really served as trusted advisor throughout the process.

Honestly I don't have any complaints. If I had to pick one thing, it would be that it was a very fast process that was a little overwhelming. However, that was the timeline of the company, and not a reflection of Candidate Labs

Quality of the candidates first and foremost. And secondly such a full service process that basically gave me an in-house recruiting function.

If anything there process can be a little bit too deep and thorough as I had trouble keeping up with all of the candidate documentation coming my way.

They are very thoughtful in their approach to recruiting, including helping to build a scorecard for the role, and they have one of the best client dashboards that I've seen from a recruiting firm, which is extremely helpful in seeing stats during the search and communicating feedback on candidates.

**What do you dislike about Candidate Labs?**

It's hard to say. Candidate Labs put a team on each placement, held weekly sync calls, handled all scheduling of meetings, gave a lot of transparency in the process with their client dashboard, and made sure to suss out candidate comp expectations early on to ensure alignment of comp between us and candidates.

**What problems is Candidate Labs solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've used Candidate Labs to fill three critical roles now: VP of Sales, Director of People Operations, and BDR Manager. They successfully filled all three roles and we plan to use them for additional roles.

**What do you like best about Candidate Labs?**

Every time we opened a new req, my Candidate Labs rep would spend time with me going over our needs in terms of location, experience, and skillset, helping define the Ideal Candidate Profile. They would then schedule a "calibration call" with me to review 3-5 example candidates to make sure that the profiles they selected matched up with my needs, and we'd adjust the profile if needed. By the time they sent me real prospective candidates to review, I knew they'd already weeded out any mismatches.

**What do you dislike about Candidate Labs?**

Not much to say I disliked. They were super communicative, and kept on top of me to make sure I was staying on top of the timeline and getting back to candidates quickly. I would grumble at the time, but they were right, and I appreciated them keeping things on track, as I'm sure it led to a better candidate experience as well.

**Recommendations to others considering Candidate Labs:**

Come into the meeting knowing exactly what you do and do not want in a candidate, and it'll make the whole process much faster. Simply saying "I want a great candidate" won't be nearly as effective as being able to say "I need a candidate with 6-10 years experience, in X industry, with Y skillset, preferrably in This timezone.

**What problems is Candidate Labs solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're a fast-growing startup with a need for experienced talent who can hit the ground running, and work with customers and internal stakeholders across multiple time zones and countries. Candidate Labs has sourced 3 separate CSMs for my team alone in the last 9 months, and all 3 of them have been rockstars. The candidates they brought me were very experienced and able to ramp months ahead of schedule. I felt confident that any candidate that made it through their initial screen would be well qualified and a solid fit for our org. They handled the screening and sourcing, so by the time they were scheduling candidates with me for further review, I knew they were the real deal.

I personally appreciated the dedicated partnership of one Client Partner for our multiple Sales/GTM opportunities. It meant we could translate our business needs into sourcing criteria and ultimately, hiring success.

Not much to say here, but of course we could always use more education of the current talent market, and Candidate Labs is well-positioned to give market/industry insights and reporting to their clients.

**Recommendations to others considering Candidate Labs:**

I got a preview of their sourcing strategies and behind-the-scenes of what makes their sourcing tool most effective, innovative, and competitive. I was impressed! As an early-stage start-up, we don't have a recruiting function fully stood up and so trust in agency partners is critical for maintaining a high talent bar. Candidate Labs met and exceeded expectations in our partnership and helped to grow our Sales team by 2x. We love working with Emily Kaplan and the team at CL!

Alexander Pucci initially reached out to me about one company, but after talking and listening to my requirements, he actually suggested an entirely different company (the one I ended up joining) that was a much better fit for me. We engaged candidate labs on a VP of Marketing role at a series A startup. We really needed a complex combination of skills and needed help. They were able to quickly calibrate, build a pipeline, refine the search, and find us a group of finalists that gave us multiple options. The team is one of the most methodical, organized, and strategic I've seen. We were able to have them drive the process so we could focus on the candidates. Even the onboarding experience was simple and fast. Once we met to kick off the search, they ran us through one of the most efficient, thorough, and organized processes I've ever seen. During the search, Emily (our recruiter) made sure we gave VP-level candidates a great experience, provided us extremely detailed analysis of each candidate across the most critical attributes to us, and kept things moving. If there were questions or adjustments that needed to be made, they came to us right away with options and advice. For an early stage company like us having a partner like this is critical since we don't have a dedicated internal talent team. Kendra, Emily, and Cissy are also just great people to work with.

**What do you like best about Candidate Labs?**

They were very responsive and hands-on throughout the process. Travis and I met before each interview to ensure I was fully prepared. I've worked with other firms that did the initial outreach but failed to provide as much assistance during the interview process.

**What do you dislike about Candidate Labs?**

Sometimes the interview follow-up with their team felt like extra work, but I know it was because they wanted to stay in the loop on how everything was going. Other than that, I was thrilled with their service.

Jordanne and Jaycie were absolutely delightful to work with from start to finish. They handled the calibration process with utmost professionalism and provided the company with additional industry context on the market.

**What do you dislike about Candidate Labs?**

I believe on a security front, I would have liked to be the owner of the meeting just so that logistically we have control over the meeting scheduling over last minute changes but I understand that CL needs to include their note taker for notes.

**Recommendations to others considering Candidate Labs:**

For future clients, you should have booked them yesterday. The candidate profile that we were targeting was very industry-specific and a unqiue edge-case. CL's process on finding a candidate from start to finish landed our first AE hire. I don't doubt that they will have the capacity to fill other prospective roles for future clients.

The company was looking to hire it's first Account Executive role. Candidate Lab's calibration process was top tier. I feel like the calibration process was very productive in ensuring all priorities were aligned to find the best candidate profile for the role.

Katie's professionalism is top-notch. She always followed through when she said she would (even during a long distance move) and communicated regularly throughout the interview process to make sure I felt prepped for success.

Nothing. In fact, where I've been turned off by recruiters in the past who were only in it for the placement fees, Katie was clear that she wanted me to be comfortable with the role and to only move forward if I thought it was the right thing to do.
