Camunda 8 is a lightweight yet powerful workflow automation platform that helps businesses to streamline their processes and boost productivity, It stands out in terms of innovation when compared to other solutions on the market and is continually improving and taking into consideration new scenarios. Camunda integrates very well into our application landscape, is easily adaptable to different business use cases, is simple to use for developers and adapts well to high-performance processes, and allows for the easy creation of reusable components using the Connector framework, making Camunda the ideal solution for digital transformation projects. **What do you dislike about Camunda?** The task UI is a little basic, history cleanup can be improved, and certain features like authentication and permission should be better handled out of the box, but you can still develop your own plugins. Multiple tenancy is not officially specified, but the team is working on it; there are a few workarounds, but they are not currently reliable. **What problems is Camunda solving and how is that benefiting you?** Create workflows in no time with a few clicks and drags; it is extremely simple to add modifications to the already existing process, making it easy for developers to modify the code. We're relying heavily on process orchestration even for system processes and Camunda excels at this. Once you're familiar with BPMN it's pretty intuitive UI-wise and bridges a gap between developers and more business-minded people. **What do you dislike about Camunda?** Besides the execution engine they're having a product Optimize which isn't nearly as evolved as Camunda itself. I'd really like to see it ramped up to speed too. That is all you need for your business to understand, so everyone from business down to the developers can use the same model. The development end result is a BPMN model readable by everyone - basically It's the documentation that gets executed. # Very versatile due to it being Java based appliaction - can be integrated to just about any system. # Can support very high throughput. # Development is a breeze - you can try out concepts easily and immediately test them on your own machine. **What do you dislike about Camunda?** # Due to license poliitcs, Enterprise version can be hard to sell - it's not the priciest but then again it's not so cheap either. You need to have a good business case - select the right process when running Camunda. Using it for processes which do not really make you money but are frequent, will cause some troubles and necessary negotiations with Camunda since you pay for process instances etc. **What problems is Camunda solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is a perfect BPM - you can orchestrate just about anything and it can live in both a legacy environment as well as in the cloud using the newest microservices and event-streaming concepts. We develop and support six major projects for processing some business requests through the chain or reviews and approvals, with tracing the status of the request and sending notifications. Beside the support for these actions, Camunda allows us to analize our processes and detect some potential bottlenecks, so we can address it. The main features we use are Camunda engine, Camunda Cockpit and Camunda Optimize (heatmap). I'd like to mention great customer support. In the past, we received many detailed responsed to resolve some implementation cases. I have been using Camunda Rules for over 3 years now, and we were able to combine around 4200K of rules in 3 DMNs , and reduce the TTB and TTV by 1 month. **What do you dislike about Camunda?** I would like to see features like excel, json import export. **What problems is Camunda solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have a product that shows recommendations to user based on user inputs, and there are 4200K possible combinations leading to different recommendations with different scores. I was able to solve this problem by putting all of the cases in rules engine making it easy to maintain and understand. ### 10. Objects serialized in an earlier version of Java caused deserialization issues after upgrading to later Java versions. Manual Task forms is easily configurable with other systems like servicenow , it should be considered to provide more flexibility in future. Other BPMS solutions offered some of this but most of them wants you to go full low code, and we technical people know that youll hit a big wall when you start to have complex cases. With Camunda we have the freedom to do what we do with the technologies we already love. Theres not a single person with a title like "Camunda Developer" at my company, because everyone of our java developers or other languages use camunda as a tool on their belt. **What do you dislike about Camunda?** I think the only downside you can think as of now is the migration from 7 to 8, for us old heavy users. But camunda and community is working hard on bring solutions to help us migrate this, and we know the benefits from the new model, camunda 8 solve scalability problems that maybe you didnt had on your current load, but they are thinking big here. We're iintegrating Camunda in all of our processes and we are expecting a high return on investment in our time to market. Implementing processes in Camunda is very simple and the BPMN standard allows for a common field between the BA and DEV teams. **What do you dislike about Camunda?** Using Camunda changes the mindset of process development in a company. You can quickly see where a process is, where it might be stuck, where it's going next. You also have a lot of troubleshooting capabilities within the system if developed correctly. It can act as a one stop shop to find out what the problem is and how to get it going in the right direction again. Camunda Optimize is also a great addition to the other product features. I love being able to quickly build reports that tell me how my process is working and how much value it's delivering to my company. **What do you dislike about Camunda?** Due to the high-cost potential with each node (charged per work item on each node), our processes have been using less and less nodes. This is problematic because you lose all of the quick visibility into the process, which is what I love about it. We just don't see as much of the process anymore, so we're losing some value there. When we have an issue with Camunda, finding the source of the problem isn't always the easiest. We're improving our understanding of how the system works (on-prem version), but some of it is a limiation with our organziation and having enough application admin resources. **What problems is Camunda solving and how is that benefiting you?** Orchestrated workflows historically had lots of preliminary work that each development team had to do, which takes up valuable development time. It was also not standardized at our organization for how to orchestrate workflows. From a product development perspective, monitoring and visibility into the orchestrated flows was difficult and we had to rely on several systems in order to troubleshoot problems. ### 17. This is something available in some of the old workflow engines which camunda is not supporting , when we migrated the app from old workflow tool to camunda this is the only feature i see its missed in camunda bitbwe managed with workaround of creating a new instance with same businesskey but there are some use cases which doesnt help through this workaround .
